Where is that song from?
It was never released on an album or as a single but I think Macfan got it as part of an Australian promo CD when In the Meantime came out. She very generously shared it with us.
Christine's manager, Martin Wyatt, has said that he is negotiating with Universal to "rework" ITM. Perhaps Come out to Play might resurface on that.
I'd like to see some of the outtakes and demos from ITM as well.

Yeah, I took that from Mary Anne and also the acoustic version of Friend from Itunes and I made a new ITM cd which included both.

I did the same thing.:D
I hope we get to hear more ITM songs that didn't make the officially released album.

No, we are not positive. But without hope and speculation, nothing remains.

It's certainly far from a done deal, but Gail did say that it was Martin Wyatt(Christine's manager) who said this. It sounds like he was working with/negotiating with the record label. I'm still unsure what exactly he meant by "redoing ITM".

Mr Wyatt said this when I emailed him about Christine's website disappearing. Mind you he said on more than one occasion that he was looking for someone to get the website up and running again and we haven't seen that happening. I did forward everyone's ideas for a website but I didn't get a response.
I doubt if it is a done deal but it sounds hopeful at least.

It shouldn't take much to get Christine's website running again if there is any motivation to do so.
I don't think the ideas we had for a website were particularly intimidating. It's easy enough to look around at other musicians' websites to see the sort of content they use. A website doesn't have to be an expensive, elaborate production full of flash animations and the fancy tricks they teach in web design school.
A really good website is something like Bob Welch's website, where the performer is actively involved in the site and provides content. In the case of Christine, it doesn't look like that will happen, but it can still be an interesting and valuable resource for information on her career. And if she ever feels like getting involved -- maybe posting artwork she has done? -- it's there for her.
I personally miss the message board on the old Christine site. It was nice to have a place to hang out with other folks who identify specifically as Christine fans.

Hope is all we got...
Could the term "re-work" possibly just mean re-release/re-promote in this case? I would be surprised if Christine actually remixed or re-recorded anything for the album. That said, I'd love it if she did and I also think the Say You Will album should be reissued in its entirety (all 23-25 recorded tracks) with a complete remix (ie eradicating Mark Needham's muddy, dense influence).

Before they revamp a 5 year old album (some of whose left over songs were probably used for Lindsey's Under The Skin), let's remaster/reissue/add bonus tracks to:
Then Play On
Kiln House
Future Games
Bare Trees
Penguin
Mystery To Me
Heroes Are Hard To Find
Mirage
Tango In The Night
Behind The Mask
Time
The Dance (make it a two-disc set of the entire show)

chiliD, I couldn't agree more with your comments about remastering the Mac's back catalgoue - these are all long overdue.
However, my suggestion about "Say You Will" was in relation to the suggestion that Christine's "In The Meantime" may be re-worked/reissued. Whilst I was ultimately impressed by "SYW", I would have preferred to have had it released as a double album. I realise that some of Lindsey's unused contributions no doubt made their way onto "Under The Skin" and possibly even the upcoming "Gift Of Screws", but sans Stevie's harmony vocals, which are, in my opinion, always the highlight of his tracks (imagine "Down On Rodeo" reinterpreted acoustically with Stevie providing perfect harmony accompaniment?).
I remain frustrated by the mix on "SYW" and wish Christine had been present during the recording to help shape some of Stevie's songs in a more sympathetic, intimate fashion. Stevie truly rose to the occasion by submitting some really strong material but alas, not all of this was properly realised by Lindsey.
PS "The Dance" show is available in it's entirety, both on cd (via the album and associated singles) and dvd. "Time" does not warrant remastering/reissuing of any kind - a mess is a mess and there's certainly no cleaning up of this one. Best left alone methinks.

I'm well aware of that, but, the reissued CD set should be of the entire set.

For the very reason you give is EXACTLY why they SHOULD remaster/reissue Time. I thought it was a bold album with really good songs (just needs a tracking order change is all)...had that lineup stayed together for at least one more album, I think it would've been more well-received. The tracks that were left in the can (as part of the unreleased Another Link In The Chain album) when they brought Christine back on board would be great to hear.
DAMN! I get SO tired of reading the Time bashing, it pisses me off, even 14 years after the album's release!!

I very much enjoy Time. I even think Mick's closing track is pretty spectacular -- an appropriate, moving summation. As such, I'd love for this to be re-released with an extra CD of unused tracks, this Link project(?), and I think it would be VERY interesting to hear some of the live tracks from the tour. So there's plenty that a remaster could feature. (Maybe throw in a bottle of that wine they're drinking in the CD sleeve photos. That album is kind of a party!)

What is Another Link In The Chain???!!!
It was the title of the album they'd recorded in 1994 with Dave Mason, Billy Burnette & Bekka Bramlett, submitted to WB, went on the road for an extended tour. As I read somewhere (I've forgotten exactly in the last 14 years) WB found some clause in the FMac contract that said that Christine McVie had to be involved in the band still at that point; therefore, rejecting the album. Mick & John convinced Christine to work on tunes for the album; adding her songs (without Dave Mason's participation, since there's some sort of bad blood between Dave & Chris), replacing some of Billy & Dave's tunes (one being a killer version of Billy's "The Bigger The Love"), changed the title and VOILA!!! in Oct 1995, released Time

I does seem like a majority of the people who actually LISTEN to the album, end up liking it. Most of the "bashing" comes from people who are too closed off in their minds to think that there actually CAN be a Fleetwood Mac withOUT Buckingham & Nicks that would actually sound good and therefore never listened to the album, or listened once with a preconceived attitude that they weren't going to like it.

I enjoyed Hollywood (Some Other Kind of Town) immensely and others count Nights in Estoril as one of Christine's all-time best songs.
Speaking of Time herself, Christine told Mojo, it “was something that I had not volunteered to do; it was contractual. I don't like to harp on it very much, but I thought the music was starting to get a little strange, the choices a little funny. I wasn't really enjoying that particular incarnation of the band, and I left.”

I quite like Time - I don't think it's their best work. I don't think that it helped that Christine wasn't about to let Dave Mason near her songs - perhaps that's what she meant by "the choices a little funny"

I find her comment "..and I left" a bit odd. She only was involved in the studio, whereas the band had been on the road for MONTHS without her. They even went BACK on the road after finishing the recording process without her as well. The album was released a month after the tour ENDED. So, "...and I left" is a bit incongruent with what was going on with the band, it seems to me.

That's not at all how it played out, Steve. Yes, Another Link In The Chain was going to be the title. However, Christine, unhappy though she may have been, was always part of the project, while Billy wasn't. In fact, when Billy came back into the band, he wasn't initially considered a member of the group. [My HUNCH is that changed when he and Bekka developed a chemistry that she didn't have with Dave.] This isn't to say that she didn't have second thoughts or regrets, but she was always a part of the studio project.

Now, with Fleetwood "healthy and positive," he says the documentary only serves to mark a turning point in the band's history, not its end, and a new chapter is about to start. While longtime singer Nicks has left, Fleetwood, McVie and McVie's ex-wife Christine (who had been set to retire from the band) will soldier on, joined by two new members.
"Fleetwood Mac is very much alive and we're about to go into preproduction for the next album," he says. "So there's a whole new episode, I'm afraid to tell you."

Fleetwood Mac days (mainly 94/95): I've read where, uncharacteristically, there were auditions for guitarists after Rick Vito left, when the band was being reformed. Before the decision to add Dave Mason to the lineup was final, could you drop some names of people who had auditioned? We're big on the "what if" game here. :-) (Steve Denison, Long Beach, California, USA)
I wasn't involved in the band at that time. Therefore, I don't know of any guitar players they had auditioned.
Why did you and Dave have so few songs on Time, and Christine so many? (Steve MacDougall)
I had quit the band and then was asked to rejoin. Once I returned, I just did the 3 songs because they were already into the album.
Fort Worth Star 1994 Interview (http://bla.fleetwoodmac.net/index.php?page=index_v2&id=6543&c=18)
"It's gonna be different, but the only thing I can say is the emphasis is the same as the Peter Green era - it's very song-oriented, melody and words and that great rhythm section. It doesn't sound like the Buckingham/Nicks era at all. " The band, which founders Fleetwood and bassist John McVie decided to re-form last fall, is working on a studio album that will probably not be out until next summer. Which puts the members of the current band (the McVies, Fleetwood, Mason and vocalist Bekka Bramlett, daughter of Bonnie Bramlett of Delaney and Bonnie fame) in the odd position of recording together without having played much live.
The band's summer tour dates are the only opportunity they will have before finishing the record. That tour stops in Dallas today as the band plays with Foreigner and the Doobie Brothers as part of Freedomfest '94. For the tour, Steve Toma takes Christine McVie's place, and Mac vet Billy Burnett adds second guitar.
And, of course, there was the pic...

(BTW, while they don't look ready to kill one another, Christine looks fairly unhappy in this picture. She has that "God, please make this stop" look in her eyes.)
