I have just purchased Show-Biz Blues (2 cd'es) - the compilation og unissued works from Peter Green's Fleetwood Mac. It's great to listen to all these pieces of music that I haven't heard before or different versions of music that I do know (for instance the development of Do You Give A Damn For Me/Him And Me/Show-bizz Blues).

One thing puzzles me though: In the booklet (sleeve notes written by the ever knowledgeable Martin Celmins - another great thing about this purchase) there are some pictures of seperate members of the band - including Peter Green. It says that they are taken at Paris Cinema, Lower Regent Street, London on the 9th of July 1970. But as far as I know Fleetwood Mac and Green did their last gig together in Bath on the 23rd of May and had a last BBC session on the 27 of May (according to Christopher Hjort), so what is the story behind these pictures? Is there a story? Or is it just a mistake?

Does any of you "experts" have a clue?

Lots of Love

I hadn't noticed that - good catch, Ms Moose. I'm sure it should read 9 April 1970, not July. 9 April is the date that the band recorded their session for the BBC Radio One "In Concert" program at the Paris Cinema. It was broadcast on 19 April, and most of that show appears on the second disc of Show-Biz Blues (though it had been bootlegged before).

Thanks Sharksfan. Of course! Funny I hadn't noticed that myself going through Hjorts book. Oh well! Anyway I love that second disc at the moment, especially this particular version of Underway (as part of Rattlesnake Shake) and Green Manalishi. Twist and Shout is like an explosion of pure desperation. Fantastic! It's hard to believe that this group was actually breaking up at the time. It must be "the final convulsions" - as we say in danish.

Unfortunately "The Vaudeville Years" is impossible to get at the moment (on Amazon), but I am looking forward to hearing that as well.

Ever try ordering at your local CD-store? They must know their way through to the CD publishers

Good luck

Good idea, Wouter. Sometimes the easiest way is just around the corner!
