Hi everybody,
I know that the Buckingham Nicks era wasn't very successful for Lindsey and Stevie. I've seen some nice outtakes from their Buckingham Nicks album release, magazine features and have heard some BN demos & outtakes.
I wonder which promotional items were / are available from the Buckingham Nicks time. I remember that a towel exists w/the BN logo, also a promotional photo and that the australian album release has a different cover (metallic blue letters). Any other stuff??? I'm just curious....
Thanks for any infos!

I highly doubt there is anything at all. The album was a debut album by a then unknown duo, and the record lable did little to no promotion for it, which is why it was dropped about six months after it was released. Anything you might find is stuff that was made (most likely by fans) long after it was released. There is a promo poster out there and even that is a reprint. It's the one that says "The Beginning, Stevie Nicks, Lindsey Buckingham" and then there is the album cover. Cool poster, but not original. I have one hanging in my house.

A reprint? A reprint of an original or something that was faked?
I have this poster too. I thought maybe it was made after Lindsey and Stevie joined Fleetwood Mac and their first album (the White Album) started climbing the charts. I just figured that Polydor wanted to ride the success of the White Album. And that's why they rereleased the Buckingham Nicks album (the non-gatefold edition). So I guessed that the poster was from 1975.

Yeah, I believe the poster is a bootleg reprint of the original poster that Polydor made after the release of the white album. The story I heard was that some guy kept a bunch of these rolled up and forgot about them, then in the 90's he found and sold what he had. It's a great poster, but I believe it to be a bootleg.

Pretty nice bootleg poster though. I wonder if the original poster was larger?? I also have the non-gatefold LP too....but the gatefold is better!!

Wynnco was good for bootlegs, that and pushing their religion on you. They were the ones who came up with the "limited edition wooden box" versions of "Bella Donna", "The Wild Heart" and "Rock A Little". Cool boxes, but bootlegs nonetheless.

Wynnco....that brings back memories. They were very nice to deal with, but their prices were really high.
I have both versions of the album. After many years of searching found the non-gatefold version from a record dealer. It was in bad shape but I was thrilled to have it. Then several years later, someone sold me a near mint copy. I've always wanted to get this transferred to a CD, because the CD bootleg I have is made from a album that must have had many scratches.
I also have a few of the Buckingham Nicks 45's with picture sleeves.
You mentioned your poster size, mine was 36' X 24". What's is yours?

Wynnco....that brings back memories . . . .
I know.
I also used to ferret through the junk shops in the Quarter in New Orleans in the mid to late 80's. I found all kinds of things Stevie related and they were usually dirt cheap. In fact, that is where I found my BN record.
It is funny to think of the time without cell phones and youtube

This is great. It's great to go back and read this. I got a copy of the album from Ebay, but mine didn't have this. Thanks for posting.

Cool boxes, but bootlegs nonetheless.Yeah, they were good for bootlegs I agree....I was new to the 'game' back than.....I know so much more now than than....Plus I got alot of my stuff from 'Goldmine' magazine.....its still going but its smaller now....with the internet and all.....I still look at Wynnco's web site but they don't have much....heck they are still trying to sell stuff since I stopped getting there catalogs (well since they stopped sending them that is) back in what 2000/1? I have all those wooden box sets...shame we never got a Mirror one ....They are high though....they still sell them on ebay too cause I've seen them on there just recent too. I didn't like the box to the WH though...not the same LP writing plus the heart shape is kinda strange really.....I did get cool stuff from them though.....but ebay killed some of there business really......sad but true.....I'm sure there not half as busy as they once were? but who knows I really could be wrong....does anyone here order from Wynnco still?? Funny I thought for sure when I got 'on line' like late '01 that I would order from them again but never have...not yet anyway....ebay has been it....really...but even thats been kinda boring of late not much happening...not much Stevie stuff thats for sure....I guess everyone's holding on to stuff right now?? I don't recall what size my Buckingham/Nicks poster is? anyone know ---that is the boot poster from Wynnco?? I have like no clue?? Its still in a poster tube some place......:shrug:

Strand that's a cool story. I found a copy of BN down in New Orleans too.
It wasn't in good condition so I passed. I already had my two other copies.
I was in town for the Super Bowl, Green Bay vs. New England. An awesome
experience.
Wynnco.... the company that sold me the Buckingham Nicks Collectors Cards!
What a rip off they were.

You know what is so funny, when Katrina hit, I remember thinking all that cr*p from those crazy stores is gonna float down the streets
I was in NOLA last week and I did my usual early morning walk through the Quarter and I'll be damned if many of those ole junk shops are not still there and some still have the same junk they did 20 years ago. I love that place.

Wynnco was good for bootlegs, that and pushing their religion on you. I always thought they just bought all those boot CDs from Goldmine vendors like The Old Hippie, & then sold them for jacked-up prices.

Keither Olson? I hope that's a typo.

I bought a copy of the Buckingham Nicks vinyl record on ebay. My copy is a gatefold, but it isn't printed on the original Polydor Records label, mine is a "collector's item" from Canada's Quality Records ltd. Funny thing is, on the record, and the case, Stevie's name is spelled "STEVI" :distress:

Oh -- wynnco is still around http://www.wynnco.com/
The net, though, though fansites like this, make them somewhat obsolete. They are still available for rarities like signed stuff.
