I thought I would start a new thread just for part 2 since the other thread is getting long. That way there is a part 1 thread and a part 2 thread. Thought it would be easier to navigate through. I can't wait for part 2. :blob1::blob2:

I didn't see this thread till after I updated the old one so I'll just double post what I put in there...
the 2nd part was pretty good - I didn't care for The One
and you can all tell at the end of the show her voice was getting very raspy - kind of ruined EO17 imo -
I don't know if this happened to everyone else - but my PBS station that was airing the show - the audio kept going in and out for like 2-3 second intervals it was SO annoying - it didn't cut during the good parts at least...
I wonder if it was to thwart people from putting it on YouTube or something...hopefully someone has better version than what I watched.
p.s. Rhiannon was flippin AWESOME

Like the intro footage shown as the piano played into "Rhiannon"
So far, between part 1 & what I have seen of part 2 "Rhiannon" sounded the most rocking...Well until "Gold Dust Woman" that is.

I haven't seen part two yet, but I had similar problems with the audio.
I hope that the DVD will not have this problem. I have other Soundstage
DVD's and they look and sound great, except for one slight problem with
the Chris Isaak DVD. On the extra's, one of the songs video just disappears.

i loved the intro footage too!!!~
edit:
the intro was all i had seen so far~ i had to go to bed, so i dvr'd it on regular pbs & pbs hd~ i did that w/ the 1st part, but the hd didn't record stevie, tho it said soundstage, it was s show on asian society:shrug:~
but this time hd recorded & my god, did stevie look fabulous!!!~
those heifers at pbs better get my dvd out!!!:p~
rhiannon was fab as usual & i loved what she wore, it reminded me so much of the early mac years~
sorcerer is the only song i could of taken or left, not because i don't love it, but because stevie didn't seem into it at all~
but the rest of it was AMAZING~ did anyone else lose it during "landslide" & the footage of her dad?~ that was very touching & i loved the snowflake lighting~
i loved "the one", i thought they sounded great together, the song being a simple one just wrked~ i also loved "circle dance", which really wasn't a fav before, but again i thought vanessa & stevie made it sound so pretty & listening to the lyrics, i can see why stevie wanted to sing it~
gold dust woman was rockin'~
& she did a very energized EO17, she held that wail long & i was so yelling at the tv, "go stevie, go stevie..."...~ stevie seemed to be into this recording & i'm glad~ it made me remember nostalgically why i love stevie in the 1st place~
on a side note lori was looking very bonnie raitt-ish, i'm not digging' the red hair on her~

I was disappointed they didn't show the edge. I think they should have kept it
in (I'm sure on the DVD you will be able to see it) to show how Stevie interacts
with the audience. Not many artist's shake the fans hands. They should have
kept it in. Didn't like Circle dance with Vanessa I love the way Stevie does

Yes, there were a lot of breaks for makeup, etc. She was really funny. I would have loved to see Beauty & the Beast but I guess we have to wait for the dvd. Rhiannon was phenominal. The only thing that bothered me about the PBS version was no Edge walk and the editing did not capture the intensity of some of the songs. To me it was distracting and didn't enhance the performance. Oh, the other thing is the place looks HUGE on tv but it was really small.

This gets me to wondering how Crash would have been with Dave Matthews. How their voices would have sounded together, what kind of intensity and/or playfulness they would bring to the song and how would Stevie and Dave have split up the lyrics between them.

I say she looks ALOT like my niece Kendra (aka "Nimrod" - at age 15 she is 5'-10", frikkin' AMAZON gene in that girl), Who is an exact clone of me ("Isnt that weird?") down to the oval face, long nose, 'Cherokee' cheek bones, green eyes ('Nimrod's' eyes are a lighter green shade and with lighter sandy colored hair) and the extra longed sized fingers (Thus why she is a violinist - though she originally thought to try out the piano)

I hope that on the DVD, they kept in some Stevie humor or interacting with the band etc... I too am disappointed in no Edge walk for the tv airing but do hope they kept it in for the DVD. If not, that is really disappointing. I guess I can see why they took it out for tv because it can be quite long and they don't want the audience sitting there on the couch just watching Stevie shaking hands (we would of course but general public, no).

Does anyone know if they are including "Beauty and the Beast" on the DVD? I don't think it's on the DVD song listing, but she clearly sang it because in the credits she's wearing the costume she always wears for it. I hope they include the Edge Walk too... it's kind of a staple to her performance :)

I don't even like it as part of the audience. The only good thing I can say about it is after it's over when she returns to the mic and finishes the song, I think that it is all the more exciting because of the break. I mean, mingling with the audience seems to be an acknowledgement of the power and thrall she has, so when she gets back and resumes the song, that power is evidenced with renewed force in her voice. Yes, but I also don't think the general public wanted to see full screen shots of Jess during landslide, either. Don't get me wrong, I think it's great but friends of mine thought it was too personal, like a Stevie family home video. They liked the idea of the shots in the background but like to think of their own meaning behind the song. It wasn't personal for them but only for Stevie (and us who love her oh so much). Also, I don't think anyone cared to see the long intro to Edge. They recorded a shorter version of the intro at Soundstage but didn't end up using it. I wish the Edge walk replaced the long intro. My non-obsessed fans also didn't like seeing so much Waddy. They kept saying "who the hell is he and why aren't they showing Stevie?"

I respect your opinion but wanted to comment as well. I loved the pictures of Jess and Barbara and Chris and Stevie. Because of the TV cameras I got to see more pictures of them than ever before. Very touching to me, very tender. The first time she did this on the 2006 Tour I balled my eyes out watching this video as she sang into the Mansfield evening.
I totally agree with you about the long intro to Edge of17-it's boring. I kept thinking it was Waddy's concert with Stevie as guest at some points as well.

'and he says "Rhiannon, don't go"- Rhiannon- STAY'
-Rhiannon- roll over
-Rhiannon- play dead
-Rhiannon- good-girl!"
auggh... i'm still not numb to that training-a-puppy spoken command of "stay" --
it just lapses 'Rhiannon' into parody-land, i can't stand it. Many people and Stevie herself seem to love this rendering of Rhiannon, since 'The Dance' recording of 1997.
For me, the last really good 'Rhiannon' was the 'Street Angel' tour. I'm glad some of you thought this was a 'great' Rhiannon on Soundstage and won't try to change your mind.
So, enjoy this performance of it and hold on to your loving it as is, but aside from the "Stay"- i feel like i do for 5 good reasons: (because, because, because, because, because).
...as well as...
The ending minute and a half of the song cries for the committed use of her upper register, which she still has, but doesn't even come close to using in a satisfying way-
- No, don't shread the vocal chords as from '75 thru '82 or so, but 'all the same, all the same, all the same' sung in the flat monatone - oh why bother.
She could revisit the original 1975 recording, returning Rhiannon to being taken by the wind-- and finesse a tour-de-force replication of the trippy but vocally even LP or 45 version that wasn't so demanding on her in the first place.
This may be vulgar (you think?) but this 'Rhiannon' is like what you know is a really huge, gorgeous, incredible c*** that's been limp and unable to get hard for 14 years!

I thought Rhiannon was amazing. I am not a big fan of the "don't go....stay" but the rest of this song/performance is awesome. Those of you that were there to see it are a lucky bunch to see this side of Stevie in a live setting. It just doesn't happen any more during a regular tour. I think her vocals on Edge were "eh" until the end when she just pulls it out- (I love that little "oh yeah" at 10:49). I feel a bit teary while watching these- I'm having sympathy pregnancy hormones, I think. ;)

I've gotta agree with you. Rhiannon, for me, has been a major snoozer since "The Dance" tour. I haven't seen the Soundstage performance so I can't comment on that. The thing that bothers me most about present day Rhiannon (aside from the flat vocals) is the arrangement. Change it up!!!!! Why not go back to the old days? After the second chorus, Waddy does a long solo while Stevie drifts off to stage right and hangs out there until the music slows down. Then she slowly floats back to the mic (maybe even do a twirl or two), all the while making grand drama with the bat sleeves to finish the song. Can anyone else picture this?? I have been for quite some time. I think this one little change would add some major new life to this song. The last time she did Rhiannon this way was in 1990 on the BTM tour.

Well, viv, Waddy is close friends with Stevie and fairly famous in the rock music world. Many people attack him for not being a "beauty." I think you understand the unfairness of that. Perhaps Stevie sees him differently than the people sitting on the couch. I think Stevie wants him to have a bit of a starring role on her videos. He may not be "pretty" enough to be in Fleetwood Mac, yet I believe he has done quite a bit to give Stevie's solo career some notice. (His style of playing has been called "dirty," and people ask him to play on their albums to give them a certain "edge," if you will.) He's made an appearance on most of her solo albums and tours. On Edge of Seventeen in particular, Stevie & Waddy do have co-starring roles, I think. If you've been to a few early shows or watched Red Rocks or Stevie Nicks In Concert, Waddy was sort of forced to entertain the audience while Stevie was backstage changing her clothes or doing whatever she was doing back there. (sure, they could have edited THAT out too, but that's really what was happening) Besides, Waddy wrote the string arrangements for the Melbourne Orchestra that appears on Crystal Visions and the arrangements now appear on this Soundstage production-which we are getting to see performed for the first time. I believe it is the combination of Stevie & Waddy that makes Edge of Seventeen the power song that it is. I think he deserves the screen time.

This is rockin'!
I predict this DVD will sell pretty darn well. Maybe Nicks will do the New York outdoor Today Show performance again, this time wearing her chiffon & her top hat. People like that.
Well, I think this is Stevie's best recorded performance ever, no questions asked. As soon as I saw the introduction to Rhiannon, I knew this was going to be something exceptional. Those sideways glances and the look in Stevie's eyes when the recorded portion of her and the little girl at piano was being played, just reminded me of how captivating she can be with the simplest moves. WOAH! Then when she walked out on stage in that tophat and her Rhiannon outfit I was completely mesmerized. It actually choked me up a little bit, seriously. It was like taking a trip down memory lane. She was beautiful, sexy, and enchanting. Her vocal was very good throughout the song. There is so much magic to that Rhainnon performance. Loved it.
Vanessa Carlton was very good too. The harmonies on "The One" were extraodinary.
I thought the strings on GDW were very creepy and effective. I really love that rendition of the song.
Landslide made me bawl like a baby. What's personal to Stevie is also personal to a lot of us. The moments we've shared with our parents over the years is precious to a lot of us. Those special one on one times with either Mom or Dad and the family times are some of the best of our lives. I wanted to get up on that stage and give her a big hug after she gave her speech about Jess and the "Landslide" story. But it wasn't just about that, it also chronicled Stevie's life and career and made it very apparent that her family was always a big part of it. "Landslide" was the absolute most sentimental part of Soundstage.
I really loved everything about the Soundstage performance. Stevie, Waddy, the Band, Vanessa, The Girls, the stage, and the orchestral parts. They all deserve a standing ovation for this. Absolutley wonderful! And thanks Joe Thomas!!!

Absolutely! I agree whole-heartedly with you on everything you said here! I SOOO can't wait to get my dvd now from Amazon! Wonderful, wonderful performance, and I remember Jaz telling us how awesome it was live when she filmed it! How amazing that must have been to actually BE there! WOW..

Arlene, I think we fans will be enjoying this one for a long time. The people in that room, that night, were some very lucky people. To think of what was going through their heads at the time and the emotions running through their bodies. Truly very lucky people. I guess all that's left to see is "Beauty and the Beast" and "Dreams". I'm sure BATB will be awesome. Not so sure about "Dreams" though. :wavey:

Well, I think this is Stevie's best recorded performance ever, no questions asked. As soon as I saw the introduction to Rhiannon, I knew this was going to be something exceptional.
I also think Soundstage is Stevie's best recorded performance ever. Stevie looks beautiful--elegant, actually. I remember watching Storytellers and thinking something was missing, despite the beautiful set and candleabras there. Part of that something in my opinion was Waddy. And this time we really did get "Sara," not just a tease of Stevie at the piano. They never did release Storytellers on DVD so we could buy it. I think the inclusion of Stevie's family demonstrates that this performance really was made as a keepsake for us. Stevie's singing of "Landslide" was strong on it's own. SO WHAT if a few people had to suffer through some old family slides? They'll get over it without any permanent scarring. We may never get another solo live solo DVD again, and I'm happy it was personalized. Those 'couch people' probably won't buy it anyhow, and it has nothing to do with a few slides being shown during "Landslide."
And while there were things missing from the performance (like Mark's official debut on television!), I think we still have stuff to look forward to on the DVD. Stevie got a rocking type performance with this outing and maybe that's why "Beauty & The Beast" was omitted. I like the song and it's performance well enough, but it sometimes comes off as a bit affected. (right up there with "Has Anyone Ever Written Anything For You," another song that I like, but I can see why it wasn't used on this project)
Did they use that old movie footage during the Soundstage shoot, Mark (for Beauty & The Beast)? Between that and Stevie dancing around with an imaginary partner-- well, I just think that stuff should be saved for the more exclusive fan. I don't see the 'couch people' going for "Beauty & The Beast" because of numerous distractions. ;)

I'm touched about the Landslide video, more so than I would have been 20 years ago, before I had to start thinking about my own parents' mortality.
On the other hand, the whole Landslide thing bores me, the song, the singalong, all of it. So, part of me is resistant. But I really cried during the Sara video with FM. Depending on which side I was sitting on in the audience, I could only see one part of the screen or the other, so every time I saw it, new images from the past were unveiled. I just cried each time.

I feel a bit teary while watching these- I'm having sympathy pregnancy hormones, I think. ;)
She was actually better on the CV tour. Maybe it is because I saw her on openning night but her vocals were spot on on every note. Even my friend who I have dragged to several of her shows immediatly commented on how strong her vocals were.
Dreams had become snack or bathroom break for me but she managed to breath new life into it on that openning night it had a real playfullness to it that is similar to the recorded version.
SS is a mixed bag for me. I really think she should switch gears at this point in her career. Get rid of the rock songs and image and concentrate on singing. When she actually sings I think, wow she really can sing and has this amazingly rich deep multilayered instrument. I can so imagine her with just a piana adn a few strings doing all her slow songs.

Anyone else who was there wondering why they cut out the Edge Walk? I thought I'd be on TV! Otherwise, it was great - but all the camera cuts took away some of the energy felt that night.
They cut it out? I thought she didn't do it. No wonder it looked like she was going over to do it then you don't see her until she pops back up a while later. Well, I'm glad it'll be on the DVD then.

i just feel her vocals in the 70s were very soft, and didn't have the gravily nasily sound to them that they have now...and considering the dark lyrics, i feel a gravily, deep voice better suits the song, than a voice that is airy, soft and very melodic like it was in the seventies...i don't know just my opinion! lol

I just saw the show. I think the first part was better, but the EO17 close was sensational!!
I loved the extra musicians on the song, the way they furiously worked the bows in time to the music added to the excitement. Stevie's frenzied, quickened speech when she returns to the mic and declares, "She said sometime in the middle of the night, I think about you . . . " really quickens the pulse and the "I know what it sounds like" close made me think she should end all the shows just like that. Forget the slow finale. Who needs to be calmed down and soothed?
Speaking of the closer, Stevie would probably have had to pay another license fee to use that BATB film clip for television and a third license to use it in dvds. So, if those additional costs contributed to the decision to ditch the song, then thank heaven. I still love the tune, if we're talking audio alone, but between her costume and the film I've wanted to blind myself.
Others mentioned the moving camera angles and that did bother me for the first two songs. I don't mind seeing shots of the band and the back up singers once or twice during a song, but when the camera is constantly moving away from Stevie it is hard to get into the words she's singing. I think Sorcerer was harmed a bit, because of this, but I still loved it.
Not a fan of the tan boots with the black attire.
I thought Circle Dance sounded good, but I don't think we needed both Circle Dance and The One. I can always do without Dreams, but in this case, I would have left Dreams in over The One.
You know, we have the official video showing Jess introducing Stevie on stage, so 25 years later, it's only fitting to have an official one with her saying goodbye in this Landslide. Our record is complete.
Good show. I can't wait to have both Parts I and II together in one dvd.

I only saw part2 of Soundstage since I was sick the weekend before for part 1 so I can't comment about that. No offence to anyone. I think (part2) is nice and all but I guess for me I still 'love' the HBO special from BD period (as well as Tusk/Mirage from FMac) ....I know this is the Stevie now and well we all can't turn the clock back so to speak.....I'm sure for this show there was some staging that was done (like Red Rocks ?)....I think she looked beautiful and all loved the Rhiannon top hat and wings.....I loved the boots too. I still love the 70's performaces than this one....sorry.....and some of the early 80's.....I don't like the 'baby, baby' thing at the end of GDW...to me it has no place there really or the tag end to Edge of 17....I didn't think her vocals on Sorcerer were the best......well Vanessa did well on her 2 songs....I do agree that one would've been enough really or the other one could've been with the bonus material. I also didn't like the black gloves she wore through most of it....I don't get it? Is she afraid to show us her hands now?? Strange to me. I just don't like it. To me the best song was Landslide....and I love the family pictures just like at the concert this yr....to me that was the best song of the concert too....even though I am a bit tired of the song itself.....Anyway, hopefully I'll get to see part #1 sometime or just have to wait for the DVD release.....I do think they also showed to much of Waddy and the Edge lead in has always been way to 'long' for my taste really....(same with the Standback lead in as well....not ever liked it period).....though at one time there was a purpose for it (change of clothes) now maybe not so much..she doesn't change stage clothes as much anymore. Anway, no offence anyone. It will be nice to have.....I guess I'll be in the minority here about liking it......IMO anyway....

I don't like the 'baby, baby' thing at the end of GDW...to me it has no place there really
The "baby, baby, baby" is what is making the song for me these days. Last night though, she left out a little part. Usually after she says, "you can't save me now; you can't see me now" she also adds, "you just can't do it. You can't do it." I love that as well. I think she left a few of those out. But I still enjoyed the song. Indeed, since Rhiannon, Dreams and Landslide don't move me in concert (although I did look at the Jess film clip last night and think what I wouldn't give to have my own dad on video or hate myself for how quickly I deleted his last phone message to me -- 'cause I didn't know I would never hear his voice again), anyway, since those other early songs are now lackluster for me, I love GDW even more.
I also didn't like the black gloves she wore through most of it....I don't get it? Is she afraid to show us her hands now??
Well, she shows her hands sometimes and then she doesn't. I think she might be a werewolf. Once the concert has been in full swing for awhile and the moon is becoming fuller in the sky, I believe that she starts growing hair on her knuckles and palms and everything. So she covers them up real quick. So, that's the reason, in addition to not getting germs during the Edge Walk.

I saw it late last night on Public Television. I stumbled across it, not knowing it was scheduled, so this was definitely a treat.
I thought her her harmonizing with Vanessa was simply excellent, and she is still able to pack a strong punch on some of those old songs. "Landslide" was likewise moving. However, I have to agree with what some people said about her vocals on "Edge." It's no secret that Stevie has lost a lot of her range in the past ten years--even more so than when she did The Dance.
Part of what makes Stevie so amazing is how she works with those limitations and diminished range to create a new, exciting sound. I could hear that excitement on "Rhiannon" and a few other songs. However, by the time she got to "Edge" there was very little music left in her throat. I was relieved when I heard Sharon's patented cameo towards the end, since it lent the song some much-needed color.

Two things: For almost 20 years now I've been saving my favorite phone messages people have left for me, on cassette. My greatest love passed ten years ago but I can still listen to him sing and talk to me when I'm in the mood.

Uhm, personally I think it's because she's been told that the limo is going to turn back into a pumpkin at midnight, and if that happens she wants to still be looking fabulous as she's hitchhiking back to the hotel.... :D

It's amazing to me that you said this, because I was thinking of Quentin Collins when I wrote this and also about Michael Landon in I Was a Teenaged Werewolf.
When my grandmother passed away last year, I did have many messages she left for me saved and I made them wave files and I sent them to my mother and uncles and aunt. My grandma was 87, so I guess I expected her to go eventually and I was preparing.
With my father . . . I talked to him on a Wednesday and then he called me back on Thursday night to, ostensibly, ask me about a class action bill that President Bush had just signed. In retrospect, I believe that he was not feeling well and he probably called because he just wanted to hear my voice. Anyway, he had a stroke a few hours after that call and although he lived for 3.5 more months, I never heard his voice again. Meanwhile, at my home, I get his answering machine message, think I'll be talking to him on Saturday and I delete the message in less than a second. Man!
So, yes, I see the film clips of Jess Nicks at different points in his life and I not only think of him and everything that Stevie has said about him over the years, but I think of my own dad as well. Michele

Be gentle. This is my first attempt at critical writing about the Mac. . .
I loved your review. I would have never made the link between Red Rover and Crash. Good observation. Even though Red Rover is a child's game, for some reason, the way Lindsey sings the words, I don't think of one of those playground chants we used to have. So, I wouldn't have thought of the Crash comparison myself.
If anything I would associate Crash with the children's voices at the end of SYW, but really the adult theme with the childlike cadence in Crash is part of what makes it work so well and, similarly, in Red Rover, I guess fusing the child's game with an almost apocalyptic message is what gives it its ironic depth.
I mean, it's like redrum, redrum in The Shining.
I loved what you said about Carlton. You have to admire singer songwriters in this day and age, when there seem to be fewer. But Carlton is so much surface. Even when her lyrics are intricate, she can't give them full voice or nuance. She's not a girl, but she still sings so young. I looked at her last night and what's amazing about Stevie is that even in her twenties, when she sang Landslide her voice had the wisdom of a 55 year old woman's already.
Stevie put experience into her words, phrasing and interpretation, even before she really had experience. So, it's not only the way she strings unlikely phrases together that makes her songs resonate with people who endlessly read between her lines. It's also the vocal treatment she gives those words. She expresses something that can be felt, but not articulated. Vanessa . . . to me she has a way of singing that makes her words mean less, rather than more. This isn't as clear when she's just an opening act, as when you put her side by side with Stevie.

I loved part 1 and 2 of Soundstage. I was a little disappointed in Rhiannon, though...I thought it took Stevie a while to get into it. By the ending it was good, though! Gold Dust Woman was fabulous :)
I'm surprised so many people on here don't care for Vanessa Carlton. She's definitely not even close to being as amazing as Stevie, of course, but I think she's great. She's a better writer of music than lyrics, IMO.

I liked both parts of the soundstage pbs broadcasted but wish they did film at one of the arena's instead of the studio cause I felt she was trying to make it magical and it was but her shows in concert at the arena's where she is filling up 10,000 fans with all the energy in the audience this seemed more staged but good. I like love stevie's sound stage and I do feel fleetwood macs live in boston was better it caught the energy too in the audience and you can see it as well with stevie and lindsey great night in boston on there sound stage.

yep ..when she came out in the top hat .bat wings and brown suede platforms for a moment I could swear it was 1976 again!
I agree. She looked fantastic throught the whole thing actually. And, it was not just the lost weight and the clothes, though those played a big part of it. It also was her attitude, posture, and gait in those boots.
Vocally, she was good, though Rhiannon is painful for me post SA. She sings many of the other songs in a higher register, so what gives with the monotonal , gutter voice on Rhiannon? Having said that, I still think this concert will serve as a fitting coda on her solo carrer.

Well, I don't know many 60 year olds that wear boots with heels like Stevie was sporting, but those I do know aren't so decrepit that they can't walk like that. Some of the people I know over 60 even jog and rollerblade. I don't think she's particularly spritely for her age. I do think her face and skin look really good and completely natural, not botoxed up. So, I think she is younger than most looks- wise, but not movement wise.

Ok so I can finally comment on part 2 of soundstage since I had my dvr record it yesterday during the day so I could watch it last night. I was so irritated when I turned on DWQED on thursday night to find kennywood memories on. How stupid to NOT put Stevie on for that. I have seen that stupid show at least 10 times.
Anyway, Part 2 was not as good as part 1 but I really enjoyed Gold Dust Woman. That was the best one I have ever seen in terms of her just being so very into the song and I loved the looks she was giving when she was singing the You dont feel me now, you should see me now part. Has she just started singing the You dont feel me now part? Either way she looked really good and there was something so sexy about the way she sang this song. Its amazing how somebody can be so sexy like that without having to show any skin at all. Good stuff.
I also loved Landslide and seeing all the pictures of Stevie and her family. I thought it was very well done.
I also enjoyed Rhiannon and Edge of Seventeen also but I cant get over how good Sara and How Still My Love were from Part 1. I keep rewatching those songs over and over again on my dvr. I wish I had the cd now just for How Still My Love. That song is one of my all time favorites!!

Okay - I just watched the whole show again.
I have to say that La Nicks can totally rock on some songs. She slays FFG and is electric on EO17.
I also think that if you never heard of Stevie Nicks and saw the SS video, you likely would be hip to it if you are into rock and roll. So, I think on its own, it is a slammin concert.
I think around here, we are oversexposed to her and we (myself included) also compare her way too much to what she was almost 30 years ago.

Yes,yes, yes, yes and yes.
I was delighted and comforted by seeing Stevie Nicks be all the stevies i love. Rocking,Mystic,80's synthisized,Sexy, Sincere.ect. The older I get, the more i feel i NEED her to still be her, and watching soundstage, i feel like got to see my hero shine. I AM SO GLAD *MOST* everyone enjoyed it as much as I did. I'd stayed away from the ledge for a bit to just be able to enjoy her SoundStage withought any overanalizations (that happen sometimes). I had a get together, and people who had never really seen Stevie were captivated. Seriously. After they saw the shows, they were like "alright, I get it. that was cool. She 's good, theres really no one else like her" I breathed a sigh of relief. I loved watching some of my friends watch Sara and get absorbed in watching, or watch Rhiannon, and say ....WOW. at the end. Guys and Girls were like shes HOW old? She's Hot. and then show me their I pods the next day with How still my love on it, and then say, i think i liked it live better, whens that coming out? She did good folks. She did good.
(im gonna try to resist saying something cheezy....trying...trying.....nope, can't...)

I still find it hard to believe that Stevie is not married, I know this thread is not talking about this, I just look at her and wonder, maybe she has a torrid love affair going on! Timeless she is! Go Stevie!;)

I posted some mini-screen caps from the show on my blog. Unfortunately I didn't realzie if you put them in the margin, people can't open them and make them bigger. I'll have to do a separate post with just pictures.
The pics are on the right-hand side margin beneath the "Gift Of Screws" covers.

Very well said. I think talent transcends time and her talent is just a little different now with her vocal range, but that is what makes it so special... the fact that she is living this crazy rock and roll life and is still around to rock and give us this music and performances. It is really a miracle when you think about how the rock and roll life style can really cut your life short or you burn out. We are all very blessed Stevie and FM are still around.
I too try not to compare Stevie to her youth because, hey face it, we are all getting older too. ;) Stevie still amazes me and puts a huge smile on my face and lifts up my spirits when I am down. So, thank you Stevie for putting this DVD out. I know it must be hard being in the spotlight as an aging woman rocker, so that takes guts and passion to commit to that project and get it released.
(side note: I felt really good when my 16 yr old nephew came for a visit, I put on Edge and I started to dance and bang my head to the music and he thought that was so cool). He is into Jimi Hendrix and Red Hot Chili Peppers, so it is nice to have a family member that knows rock and roll and appreciates it.
I appreciate that Stevie thanked me for staying with her through all these years....through all these years! :D I love her!

I've avoided this thread because we didn't get part II here until last night...at midnight! Why would they air it for the first time at midnight??? Anyway, I digress...
Stevie was absolutely breathtaking...I couldn't look away from the screen...and by the end of the one-two punch of Circle Dance & Landslide had me crying like a little girl...
Sorcerer was perhaps the best I've heard since I saw Streets Of Fire in the theater ... Edge Rocked and Rolled...Rhiannon was awesome... I squinted a bit and it was the midnight special!
I just wanted to say how much I loved this performance...I can't wait for my DVD to arrive!

They finally aired the second part in my area as well.... It was a good show! First part had a bigger punch, but once it's all put together, hopefully in the right order, and played all together it will balance itself out... I have to say, visually this show looks and sounds fantastic! Youtube doesn't do it justice at all! I liked all the different camera angles they were shooting from, it just added to it visually and made it really interesting... I'm glad she finally filmed a current show... It was about time!

Yeah, I don't know how Peter gets the colors so vibrant and distinct. It's like a Blue Ray banner:).
