this is from VH1s Divas Las Vegas 2002. Stevie and Cyndi were both on the show, but didnt perform together...Stevie did 'Landslide with the Dixie Chicks, and Cyndi did 'If I Could Turn Back Time' with Cher...and at the end when all the 'divas' came out during the end performance, Stevie and Cyndi were standing next to each other.

That outfit that Dave is wearing plus his hair reminds me of the late Maurice Gibb of the Bee Gees. He liked to wear jackets, hat and the shades. Not creepy but fashionable:)

Yeah, it doesn't look like all real hair to me either. I think she wears extensions or something frequently. Have you seen the b&w pic of her with Dave that he posted? People were asking if she got her hair cut and he responded something like she just had it thrown back over her shoulder. I think it was the real length. Why it's such a big deal, I don't know - except she's got that whole mystery thing going on...

LOL! No really though - She's said flat-out herself, you know, that she went completely grey by 1992 or so. Not sure when the extensions started but I'd say certainly by "The Dance." Not certain why people just aren't able to see it - "Love is blind," I guess - but Stevie's been wearing her real hair short for ages, and wearing wigs and extensions on top of it. Stevie has never had "long, gorgeous flowing blonde hair." Look at the early photos, her hair's more a brownish color - "Amber," anyone??? Or I guess you could call it "dirty blonde."

That photo always creeps me out because I was chatting once, quite some time ago, with A Certain Person, alone in the Nicksfix Chat Room - before I realized Certain Things, and he started telling me about how that was from the time he was dating her and he was actually there when it was taken. Wigged me out. :shocked:

I believe this too in recent years when I have seen her at concerts, shaking her head vigorously or standing in front of the drum kit and bending so far over that you could see the nape of her neck, as the mane tumbled towards the floor. I am positive she didn't have extensions on at those times.

As to whether she uses some for photo shoots, I wouldn't know. But there have been times in person where I think it would have been impossible to hide added hair.

I still think she wears it short at times though. Lower-maintenance.

Check out the pics in Nicksfix where she's sitting on that red "dragon couch,"
for example - i.m.o. it's easy to see there if you look close. To me, at least,
it looks like she's wearing her actual hair short there, with a wig or extensions

She was wearing extensions at least as early as the Tango in the Night tour. It was Very obvious!!

I know nothing about womens' hair, nor have I ever commented about it. But I think Stevie would look even more beautiful if she softened the bleach-blonde color and went with a darker shade. And I agree with others that the bangs have got to go. It's such a harsh look, and I dare say, on the safer side of a white trash trailer-park style.

I hope the photography being done for her new album presents her in a more natural way. Though it was hard to see the detail, the recent photo of her and Dave Stewart shows her hair in a sexy, more natural state. I suspect she was bangless then.

About Stevie's hair, I think most of it is natural these days. Yes, it has been dyed to hell I'm sure, but I remember in the commentary on the Everyday video she talked about how she loved the beautiful long extensions they gave her at the time because her hair wasn't as long as it is now. I don't remember the direct quote, but it was something to that effect. I think she wears extensions when she needs to, but I don't think she is a Dolly or Cher to any extent. I think Stevie's hair is pretty close to what we've been seeing for a while, with maybe some extensions at opportune times.

I love a good red lip on Stevie, so I like the Sorcerer vid's makeup, but I like the Mirage concert's makeup MUCH better - smokey eye AND a red lip. I think that might be my favorite look of hers, actually.

I think she's doing her own makeup, or has hired someone who does it exactly as she says or else! Back in the 80s, I think she may have let the pros really work their magic with less input, or with less total control than she may require now, for those shots you chose above.

Actually, I'm pretty certain it is her - that photo (or one very, very similar) was used on one of her Super Stars Music Trading Cards back in the day. A quick Google search did not turn up a photo of the actual card, but I have one in my scrapbook.

I am a Gemini and I love having somebody do my hair, make-up etc but I know what you mean. I used to hate massages but then after having them free at a job I worked at, I now love them. You are totally right about us Gemini's over thinking. I do that with everything and its annoying!

Actually, I'm pretty certain it is her - that photo (or one very, very similar) was used on one of her Super Stars Music Trading Cards back in the day. A quick Google search did not turn up a photo of the actual card, but I have one in my scrapbook.

i'm not big into astrology either, but i do find that i fit the gemini descripton 99% of the time and this is one more thing to add to it.

i'm not big on massages, and i don't like to have my hair washed either. like when you get your hair cut? i also don't like anyone fixing my hair, and again-doing my makeup is a big no-no. not that i do it so spectacularly. but at least i only have myself to blame lol

How on earth did you manage to get rid of the watermark? O_O

I used the cloning tool, alternating brush size and hardness, to rebuild the areas where the watermark rested. Then I used the burn and dodge tools to correct the necklace and a simple gaussian blur to even out the color on her chest.

No. This photo was taken at the R&R Hall Of Hame Induction Ceremony, I believe it was 2005 or 2006. The Pretenders were inducted that night. When they performed "Message Of Love", instead of singing the words, "...like Bridget Bardot..." Chrissie sang, "...like Stevie Nicks..."

This photo was printed in Rolling Stone about a month or so later.

Guys I finally found this on Ebay and just ordered it in poster size. Isn't it simply groovy? Early Stevie is not my favorite look but this is like schwing material! I never thought that this photo was fake. Stevie can do splits, so this pose does not strike me as being unrealistic. She is leaning forward to get herself into the position to be able to do her back leg lift. I looked at the top and the bottom as you suggested, but I'm not sure what I'm supposed to see.

And I think Stevie has really been coming on-trend in the last few years, at least as far as my understanding of trends go! Particularly her wardrobe on Unleashed with the sequins and the sparkly chain things. It really looks like stuff I'm seeing on the high street, at least in Dublin! She's certainly been adding variety in the last few years, if only in details while keeping the general look fairly static. I think it's really working though! :nod:

I don't think there's anything 'going on' between them at all, at this point. But what's slightly strange is that the lyric to 'Stevie Baby' says something about 'all it took was just one kiss to show me what I'd missed', which suggests it can't really be about their first hook-up in the 80s, because he can't have missed her when he'd only just met her?

By the way, that story about when Dave and Stevie 'met' in the 80s is kinda, um ... wild. Dave told it in his songwriting book (about DCAHNM). He says he asked Stevie at the time the book came out if it was OK to tell it, and apparently she said yeh, go ahead. :eek:

I don't think there's anything 'going on' between them at all, at this point. But what's slightly strange is that the lyric to 'Stevie Baby' says something about 'all it took was just one kiss to show me what I'd missed', which suggests it can't really be about their first hook-up in the 80s, because he can't have missed her when he'd only just met her?

By the way, that story about when Dave and Stevie 'met' in the 80s is kinda, um ... wild. Dave told it in his songwriting book (about DCAHNM). He says he asked Stevie at the time the book came out if it was OK to tell it, and apparently she said yeh, go ahead. :eek:
