I am trying to remain calm.... Must not panic... oh screw that...
OMG, WTF is going on? UGGGGGGGHHHHHHH

okay, okay... now that is out of my system... At least it is still the DVD. With programs today, the audio can be ripped from the DVD and burned onto a disc. This might explain the mystery of why there is no artwork yet.

I have to look on the bright side of things, my birthday is in September so it will be a birthday present to myself.

Yes, this does suck! Just the release date though... Never understood the need for an audio dics of the dvd anyway - unless of course it's got extras on it. Personally, I don't think the audio disc necessary.

So wtf is she doing out on the road? Nobody mentioned her even mentioning that this thing was coming out - just that she filmed it etc.

So what?... PBS plays the show starting July, and people have to wait 2 months to get it? That's not good marketing!!

Sarcasm alert... Since when has Stevie's management ever had any good marketing sense? I really just don't get this crappy marketing. So many opportunities missed. (sigh).

I believe at the Mohegan on April 20th, she mentioned that Soundstage was coming out in the summer. I'll have to find the post and copy it to this thread.

I totally agree... I don't see the point of this tour? Marketing wise, it would have tied in nicely if she talked about it during each show... She'll be off the road come July (as far as we know), and in 2 or 3 months people (the casual fans that have lives :) ) will forget all about this thing coming out.

Yes, I remember that - it's on one of the recordings.... I guess a lot can happen in just over a month, or not happen!

Found it!

From the post "Mohegan Review...by me" by StandbackStevie on 04-24-2008:

great review and i would about some of her talks in between songs cause she has a wonderful sense of humour and also she did mention about the release of her Soundstage performance on a dvd/cd package coming out this summer which will be July 1st according to amazon.com which is there for pre order right now. Great review Christine. Thanks for sharing your article with us.

Yea, so since we know that she said that, then it makes it even more clear that this was a move on Warner's side of the fence.

Oh I don't doubt that one bit.... I mean aside from Stevie performing on it... the only thing she would be involved with later on is the sound mix and how she looks... and the dvd packaging etc... so unless this mini tour is getting in the way of that - it's all the label. Maybe there's a logical reason like maybe the label thinks nobody is watching tv in the summer so nobody will know it's out there for sale yadda yadda yadda...

Maybe she'll do another tour in September, just a mini one, to kick things off. And she'll come west. Ha!

And I remember your reminders Livia, but you only said it wouldn't happen this summer. You didn't say it wouldn't happen this fall!

Amazon.com and Amazon.co.uk have both been experiencing service outtages and various other glitches over the past few days, and I'm not entirely convinced that this isn't just a byproduct of that.

For one thing, when you search for "Stevie Nicks Soundstage," the first item is listed as "Soundstage DVD (LP Record)."
I've never known anyone to release a DVD on LP before -- wonder what kind of new equipment I'm going to need to play that sucker.

Additionally, the second item that turns up in the search is an Audio CD, but if you click to view the item page, you find a message that states, "We're sorry. The Web address you entered is not a functioning page on our site."

It all seems pretty glitchy to me.

If we really are looking at a delay of two months, that's disappointing -- but as long as PBS still airs it in July, we'll get to see it then.

Wow...great find! I really hope they do release an audio CD of it, be it in a CD/DVD package or seperate...but now this whole thing is even stranger than before.

Ok, so now there are two seperate listings for the DVD and the CD. Both are priced at $18.98, and before, the combo was priced at $24.98, so this looks like a move on Warner's part to soak up more money from all of us. But maybe there's another reason, besides for profitability of coarse, that Warner is selling the CD and DVD seperately. Maybe it will be easier for the RIAA to calculate the album sales, since perhaps they lost money on the CV deal by combining the CD/DVD, but this is just me throwing stuff out there.

You made a very valid point. I'm worried though at that list price it won't do good business. It would fare well better at $10.00 or less. Anything over that price is almost guaranteed to be found on file sharing sites. I'll buy it next year when it goes on sale. There is nothing on this new disc that beats anything watchable or listenable from 1975-1982 for me, so I can totally wait for a lower price.
Also everything that Stevie has ever released has been delayed. Even September may get pushed off to Christmas.

LOL. Maybe a laser disc player will work, if you have any left over from the eighties.
