~it Also Says That The Song Beauty And The Beast Was Written In 1982, So I Think Some Of The Demos Of That Song That Are Said To Be From The Tusk Era, May Actually Be From The Mirage EraStevie said she recorded a demo of it in Gordon Perry's Dallas TX recording studio when Mick's dad was dying of cancer, which was during the Mac tour of 1978.
The recording of it with Fleetwood Mac playing on it has a CP-30 on it, so that makes it 1979 or after.

WELL THE ONLY REASON WHY I DON'T THINK THESE 3 SONGS ARE DESERT ANGEL, GARBO AND DREAMS IS BECAUSE, DREAMS, GARBO AND DESERT ANGEL ARE COPYRIGHTED, WITH THE DATES WHEN THEY WERE WRITTEN, AND THE DATES ON ANGELS IN WAITING, WALZTHING THROUGH STARDOM AND THUNDER ARE DIFFERENT

I was kind of thinking the same thing. Funny how she tends to use phrases over and over again.
Original song titles turn into phrases in a song.
And The Days Go By (used in Edge of 17)

Sometimes you write something and have it copywritten, but then you take the original work and make changes to it and copywrite it under a new title. That's probably all it is.

What Would You Do is a circulating demo recorded by one or both of the Williams Brothers. The story goes that they wrote Some Become Strangers for Stevie, and she wrote a song for them, presumably What Would You Do. The lyrics aren't bad, but the music is pretty dated.

My guesses after being all over the demos, and the copyright site numerous times:
Arabesque - This was actually listed in a fanzine a long time ago along with Carousels (once listed on Nicksfix, but w/o lyrics).
Can Never Be Sold - Love You Enough/My Love Can Never Get Lost
Can't Buy - I Sing For The Things
Dreamer - possibly Candlebright ("I am something of a dreamer")
The Glass Blower - The Tower/Goodbye Baby (as Shel said, this was a title crossed out on one of the master reels)
I Was Too Young - I Need You (from the so-called Fritz demos)
Lady - Knocking On Doors (Fritz demos)
Takin My Time - That's Alright
Waltzing Through Stardom - Garbo
Water Witch - Melusine
When Shall We Love - When Will We Love Again (Fritz demos)
Thunder 1976 - Dreams (was written as Thunder on a '76 or '77 setlist)
In The Darkness - Everybody Finds Out (copyright catalog shows ITD as the original title)
And The Days Go By (this Might Be If You Ever Did Beleive) - that'd be my guess
Angel In Waiting - possibly Touched By An Angel, as it came from poem titled either Angels Of Passage or Angels In Passage
Free Style With Les Dudek 1985 - released on Les' album Freestyle, though I don't think Stevie appears
~the Song Lady From The Mountain Was Written In 1972 Way Before Rhiannon - Sorcerer was also known as LFTM, so it's possible it was copyrighted under more than one name...same with a lot of her songs

Remember when Daisann McLane interviewed Stevie in 1979. She went to Stevie's Vilma Banky mansion & Stevie took her into the music room & played the RHIANNON songs for her. And what did Daisann say? Do you remember?
Therein lies the clue to the RHIANNON song cycle.
P.S. Is it a true song cycle (in the Harvard Dictionary of Music sense)? Or merely a group of related songs?

It's from this 1979 Rolling Stone article, here's around the time David mentioned, but I'm not sure what comment by the interviewer that he was focusing on:
A tiny poodle jumps into her lap. The puppy coughs, piteously. "Poor Ginny, she just can't get used to this air in Los Angeles. I'm real nervous about her."
She lifts Ginny, gently, by the neck. There is a thin, pinkish scar across the poodle's belly. "She just had a hysterectomy, and I'm afraid she's gonna open up the incision from all that coughing." A few minutes later, Stevie's younger brother, Chris, comes in. They confer briefly and come to a decision. That night, Ginny is put on a plane and sent to their mother's house in Phoenix. Stevie takes me downstairs to her music room because she wants to show me what her songs sound like before they are arranged by Buckingham. "I write my songs, but Lindsey puts the magic in, and there's no way -- well, I could pay him ten percent. I could walk up to him and thank him. If I were to play you a song the way I wrote it and gave it to them, and then play you the way it is on the album, you would see what Lindsey did."
The music room is dark; there are antique lamps draped with shawls, but she does not turn the lights on. And the tapes she ends up pulling out of her library are not rough Fleetwood Mac demos but works-in-progress for her solo project, a film and soundtrack album based on the myth of Rhiannon, the Welsh witch. Earlier in 1979, Nicks signed on as a solo artist with Modern records, a label headed by former boyfriend Paul Fishkin and Danny Goldberg. For a while the move prompted rumors that she was preparing to leave Fleetwood Mac.
"The legend of Rhiannon is about the song of the birds that take away pain and relieve suffering," she says. "That's what music is to me. I don't want any pain." She puts a cassette in the deck and sits down cross-legged on the carpet, between the stereo speakers. The music begins; a gentle roll of piano chords. Nicks' own version of "Rhiannon" is softer, more emotional than Fleetwood Mac's. "It's not a rock & roll song," she says, closing her eyes.
When the tape ends, she rummages in a drawer and pulls out a collection of photographs, her "private stash." "This is Rhiannon, without a doubt." The picture is of Nicks, onstage with the rest of Fleetwood Mac, in her witch costume. But it does not look like her, and I say so. "Well, you see, it turns. It goes right into..." She pulls out another photograph, of herself onstage with Lindsey. "This is the killer. And the pale shadow of Dragon Boy, always behind me, always behind me." She is speaking almost to herself, in a hoarse whisper. "You see, I just want to make you realize that when I get carried off, really carried off into Rhiannon, it doesn't necessarily mean I'm not carried off into Fleetwood Mac. 'Cause I'm just as carried off into them. Rhiannon has to wait. She just has to wait; that's all there is to it."
I ask Stevie why she refers to Rhiannon as she. "Well, because...I don't know why. She is some sort of reality. If I didn't know she was a mythological character, I would think maybe she lived down the street." Rehearsal starts very late tonight. When I get there, a little past 8:30, some powerful Afghanistan pot is being circulated, and a couple of people are trading long hits off a bottle of Harvey's Bristol Cream. Stevie is not around yet, neither is Christine, and the buzz around the crew is that neither of the women is feeling very well. John McVie shows up on crutches with a cast covering his left leg from the ankle to just below the knee. "I got drunk and kicked a door," he says whenever anybody asks. On a blackboard by the studio door is the schedule of rehearsals for the next two weeks; eight more left. Over this list, someone's scribbled: It's not that funny, is it?

They mentioned this song in the book abour Warren Zevon. They said Warren played Reconsider Me for his ex, Crystal, when the 2 of them were thinking about getting back together and she loved it. Manager/Producer Andy Slater loved it too and called Jimmy Iovine and said he had to put it on Stevie's album. Jimmy agreed. Stevie recorded the song, but Chrissie Hynde, Fiona Apple and Don Henley did too and none of them put it on an album. When Stevie did a box set, Andy Slater says they just threw the song on there because they were so desperate to have it released.

Hard Advice Written In 1995
This must be "That Made Me Stronger". The song about the hard advice given to her by Tom Petty.

does anybody know what her rhiannon songs are for the supposed movie, she said once in an interview that there were 20, but only eleven have been recorded, whether with a full band, or just on the piano. these are my guesses:
Rhiannon: Fleetwood Mac 1975
Angel: Tusk
Planets of the Universe: TISL 2001
Sorcerer: TISL 2001
Goodbye Baby: Say You Will 2003
Forest of the Black Roses: Piano Demo 1978
Maker of Birds/Three Birds of Rhiannon: Piano Demo 1978
Stay Away: Piano Demo 1978
Forsaken Love/Mistaken Love/Frustrated Love: Piano Demo 1978
Lady from the Mountain: Piano Demo and a lot of outtakes for various albums such as Tusk, Bella Donna and Rock A Little
Legend of the Three Birds of Rhiannon: Uncirculated Demo
I also think Sisters of the Moon, was written for the Rhiannon movie, i have a demo where she plays for a man named Andy, this is exactly what she says: "And Andy you can listen to this, and than you will know exactly where its coming from...I don't know this might not be anything that anybody can even use, cause I'm going to use it. This is the closing thing to something that I'm going to do, but i might not do it for 2 years..."
Now I wonder if she is talking about a solo album or the Rhiannon movie, the demo was recorded in 1978, the same year when she recorded other piano demos such as Maker of Birds, Forsaken Love and Forest of the Black Roses for the movie, for these demos are labeled Stevie's Film Score/Screen Gems Project.
And also, she said there are 20, i wonder what the other 9 are? Any speculations?

Did she just recently say there were 20? I know she said a couple of years ago that she was writing songs based on the Mabinogion, so I think those extra nine or ten are pretty new songs that we have never heard.
We know that there are ten Rhiannon songs written in the seventies, and then I believe she announced at some Rock a Little show that she had written an eleventh. Here is an old thread where people were trying to figure out the songs.

i used to have this old wild heart era interview, and on the interview, the interviewer asked about the project, and stevie said there are about 20 'Rhiannon' songs, then during a other side of the mirror era interview, she said there were 11 that she has recorded.
i think maybe, if you ever did believe could be one, only because it shares lyrics with forest of the black roses, but all of us know, she tends to pull lines from one song and use them in others.
i also think blue water could be one

it could be, i never thought it was, why do you think it is a rhiannon song, how does it fit with the others and the legend of rhiannon? It just has that mythic grandeur that one associates with THE WHITE GODDESS by Graves or the prophetic poetry of Blake -- or Jon Winokur's series of interviews with Paul Fussell.
The other myth-crit possibility of GATE & GARDEN is that it's a riff on Cocteau's "La belle et la bête" (which itself riffs on "Le sang d'un poète"). Do I believe that Stevie admires Cocteau's early-50s "Orphée"? No, I don't. I bet she hasn't even seen it.

i honestly believe that If You Ever Did Believe is one of the Rhiannon songs, the lyrics fit perfectly with the themes in Welsh mythology and they do share some lyrics with Forest of the Black Roses. Now as for Gate and Garden, i don't see how it does fit, i think the album the Wild Heart, is loosely classic literature such as Wuthering Heights, and other works by the Bronte Sisters. I also think Stevie was influenced by many themes from Gone With the Wind and by the novel Gone to Earth written by Mary Webb which is about a young girl who turns to her books of witchcraft and spells whenever she faces problems. The book of spells was left to her by her mother who was a gypsy.

Anna Paquin
She could do it in spades. She, to me, perhaps does not have the right look. But, hair and make up can do wonders!

I do too. I have not seen her lately though. But, I LOVED her fairy tales in the 80's
I could also see Michelle Pfeiffer.
I think Rhiannon is ageless or ages like a Tolkien elf. So, I am unsure what age group they are going for.
In the end, I could see La Nicks playing on the of the older mid wives -- maybe the one who feigns killing the child.
I would like to play Pwyll.

I depends on how she's aged. Plus, I kind of do not see her in the golden down that the was no more than the water could cover. But, she certainly could act it and they could make her appear somewhat taller. I also like the elfin look and piercing eyes she'd provide.
