Stevie & Doris Roberts ~

Okay, I know I'm gonna catch grief for this, but does anyone see a similarity between Stevie and the actress Doris Roberts??? For some reason, DR reminds me of Stevie ~ esp. when she's in her role on "Raymond." I can't explain it. I'm not saying they LOOK alike, but there's just SOMETHING about Doris that reminds me of Stevie. Maybe I'm just losing it.

I used to love Remingston Steele. That's where I first remember seeing Doris.

I imagine that Doris could play Stevie's mom in a movie. Stevie talked about her mother used to go from room to room in Stevie's house and tell her to stop wasting money having roaring fires going. I could definitely see Doris Roberts doing this. I'm not saying that Barbara Nicks is a nag like the Everyone Loves Raymond mother, but she definitely gets after Stevie about things and Doris could portray that.

okay, yes in those photos I can see that, plus Doris or the character she played on Raymond was very opinionated and knew what she wanted, so I can relate to that.

I feel the same way about similar looks with Genie Francis and now the woman who plays Lu Lu as her daughter on General Hospital. Young pretty face, long blond hair.
Could play the young Stevie in a movie and Genie Francis play the older Stevie. Now that movie would rock.

OMG I am so laughing at these pics. When I first read your headline I was like no freakin way do they even look alike.

Then when i saw the pics I immediatly saw the resemplence though they would be Stevie in 20-30 more years.

Ha! At least someone can call it. You are so right, my friend. Actually, I think I've LOST it. As for the Stevie/DR thing: I think it's probably more noticeable when you see her on Raymond. Again, I'm not saying they look alike, there's just something about her - mannerisms, expressions, I dunno - that reminds me alot of Stevie.

I guess there's some clothing and accessorizing that is Stevie-like. BLACK is Doris's featured color on the pics posted. Then there's that Dragon print on the colorized black dress and the dragon pin on another pic. She's got similar coloring to Stevie's, probably due to the stage like make up, both have brown eyes and RED RED lipstick.

If we all can't see it, how on earth is the whole casting world not jumping on the idea of this? I think now would be the perfect time to do this. Genie Francis is a well known name and the whole Luke and Laura thing from GH will give her a boost from GH fans who used to watch way back when. And then cast Julie Marie Berman as the young Stevie and bam, you have a hit.
