DOLLY PARTON plans to sue notorious US DJ Howard Stern after he broadcast a faked tape that made her sound like a racist pervert.
Stern's team cobbled together old recordings of the country star and manipulated her voice to make it sound like she was bragging about performing sex acts with stars including Burt Reynolds and Kenny Rogers.
The fake Dolly also cursed and swore and made vile racist remarks.
Mortified Dolly, a 62-year-old devout Christian, told fans on her website: "I cannot believe what Howard Stern has done to me.
"In a blue million years, I would never have such vulgar things come out of my mouth.
"They have done editing or some sort of trickery to make this horrible, horrible thing.
"Please accept my apology for them and certainly know I had nothing to do with this.
"If there was ever going to be a lawsuit, it's going to be over this.
"Just wanted you to know I am completely devastated by this."
Stern, the highest-paid DJ in America, aired the "Dolly" tape on May 6. He has used the same trick in the past to embarrass stars including Oprah Winfrey and William Shatner.

Dolly Parton is not to be messed with. I mean, she plays the role, but really is a tough cookie. Like stevie says "you dont suceed for years and years in the buisiness by bieng airy fairy." I find Howard Stern moderatly amusing from time to time, but go Dolly. Giv'em Hell!

If this supposed lawsuit gains any traction, more lawsuits will be coming down the pike from Oprah, Ed McMahon, George Takei, Clay Aiken, Dr. Phil, Rush Limbaugh, etc. I personally found their digital manipulation of these celebrity audiobooks to be absolutely hilarious. And everyone knows that these are done purely in good, dirty fun. And here I had assumed that someone who described herself as looking like a cheap prostitute would at least have a decent sense of humor. As such, I'm really disappointed in Dolly. Dolly, we know it was a joke and that you would never say such things. Get over it!

Actually I'd sue if I were her. If Howard Stern called me a racist or tried to manipulate my voice to sound like one, I'd be furious. I find him mildly funny but call me a racist and I'd sue your arse.

She should really just consider the source and laugh it off .I agree she is in reality a tough old broad who has had quite a life so her mortification over Stern's joke seems a bit disingenuous.

This is the whole Dolly segment on Howard. He clearly did not call her a racist, and it is so obvious that this was a total joke and everybody had a good laugh (unfortunately at Dolly's expense). So if some of her fans are ignorant enough to believe that any of this was serious, then they have bigger problems than Dolly potentially spewing racism in her audiobook.

Thanks for the work warnings... it's appreciated.
I think it's kinda funny, but I can see where a devout christian woman would be devistated.
