I just received a Warner inventory list in regard to promotional release events.
I just arranged the Boston-area release party for Friday, June 27 at Club Cafe. The following Friday is July 4, so that wouldn't work.

Ohh exciting! When is that stuff usually released?

There's no set rule, but product artwork should surface about eight weeks prior to release. Anyone that's a buyer for a music/DVD store will likely see it first in solicitation materials.
I typically receive promotional materials about a week prior a release party.

Hurray !!! :]:blob2:
We all have waited for a very long time for this.
I wonder if the artwork will just be another posed shot of Stevie and her badge.
Don't get me wrong, I love the photo, but it still reminds me of Sheriff Stevie ready to round up some outlaws.
Let's all pray Chris had nothing to do with the artwork.

See - it made sense with the tour in June and no new solo album coming...
And hopefully she gets along with Liddy and FM rolls out a new album (probably the last one at that the way things are going) and then another tour for next year...I wonder if the next FM tour would be shorter because of Stevie not having a fun time and everyone getting exhausted...they are all getting older.

Well actually this is considered a new solo album (at least a new release). I have a feeling Reprise will back it even better than Crystal Visions.

A little too little and a little to late for this guy...
I'm afraid I have to agree here. This is much too little much too late for me.
I'm nowhere near the fan I used to be. I hated SYW and I can't say I'm much of a FM fan at all anymore. I'd prefer the band break up and never put out another record like that again and the respective members put out their own solo records. I'd much rather hear an entire new album from Lindsey and an entire new album from Stevie. And if Christine wants to put out more new music, well, all the better.
My Stevie fandom is seriously waning as well. I haven't cared for any of her solo shows since 2001. Everything from 2005 on is the same old, same old. Same old tired songs, different day. Throwing "Crash" into the setlist didn't help. That song was bad enough the first time around. I don't know why Stevie thought she could make it any better and make a bad song good. The last truly great tour she did was the Enchanted tour in 1998. It had old favorites, new favorites and songs that had never been done live before. She took chances then. She could take chances now if she wanted to but it doesn't seem that she wants to.
I used to expect a lot from Stevie and FM and they used to deliver. None of them seem to be inspired anymore. I have to give Lindsey credit for his work with UTS and the supporting tour. At least he wanted to do something new and accomplished what he wanted. He actually performed an interesting setlist with new and old favorites and a few surprises. Stevie can't or won't compete with that now.
I keep checking the boards and a few sites every day in hopes that there will be something new and exciting to renew my liking of the band and its members but every day it's the same old disappointments. I find myself moving on to other bands and artists that aren't afraid to take chances and create new and exciting music instead of staying with what they find "safe".
It used to bother me when I would tell someone that my favorite band was Fleetwood Mac and my favorite singer was Stevie Nicks and they'd say "you like who??" then laugh and make jokes about what "has been's" they all were. That doesn't bother me anymore because the joke isn't that far off now.

Well, I also have to agree with saintbernard (Hi:-)....no Rick Vito anymore?). The Stevie and Mac thing is not the way anymore as it was years ago. After 11 months I took the time to take a look at the boards here again just to see what's going on. I actually didn't take alot of time for Stevie and Mac the past few monts. I bought here and then few articles at eBay for my collection. I've met so many people through 20 years of fan being and I've noticed that many of them aren't fan anymore. Many of the homepages I used to visit daily years ago are shut down. It's sad to see this, especially for the fact that some of the earlier Stevie fans were so nice and I really loved it to talk to them. This means not that the current Stevie fans are not nice. It's just that I "grew" up with the 80s Stevie fans who aren't fan anymore or are not that addicted anymore. Sure it's boring to listen to the same old tired songs and it's boring that nothing really new seems to come in but I never would regret the time I had with all the fans out there. I had good and bad times with them but it worthed it to met them anyway. Best wishes, Melanie

That doesn't bother me anymore because the joke isn't that far off now.I do understand what your saying here. Theres nothing wrong with express your opinion even if others don't like it. I've been a Fmac/Stevie fan for over 20 yrs and I'm feeling some of the same frustrations that you are. Maybe the 'new' younger fans can't really understand. I to feel that Stevie has put herself in a box so to speak. She only plays the same setlist of songs over and over again cause she doesn't want to break out anymore from her own comfort zone. I don't think its not that your not a 'fan' so to speak.....it's like some think its wrong to say how you may feel about your favorite artists. But they do disappoint at times. I feel that when Stevie started out with her solo stuff.....I think she was gonna try to get alot of music out but it seems after the 80's were over alot changed. She hasn't released much new music (solo wise really) other than SA and TISL....not counting the endless compilations : TS/Enchanted/CV.....I love Enchanted and the CV DVD but the rest well....its really nothing 'new'....I am also like you in expecting much but not getting anything ....I'm thinking solo wise...this will possibly be my last solo Stevie concert. Personally, I don't think Stevie likes her own music anymore since she only wants to sing the same songs over & over again. If she truly did she would in turn take MORE chances in that regard but she has chosen not to over the years. Heck even FMac would do like the same setlist over & over again too. How sad for both artists to not sing more of maybe the not so famous songs. I think any song off an LP/cd can be done if you want it to be done live....if only certian songs can be sung live than well thats a total
shame.....I think its only an excuse to not even 'try' to sing it live. I know Stevie has said that in interviews in the past (don't recall which ones right now though--sorry). I actually like songs that aren't so famous or popular really. I guess were to get this soundstage cd/dvd? In July but it's technically a rashing of the 'hits' all over again. Life goes on....A part of me will always love Stevie & FMac....that is true....but the other part of me is sad by how it all seems to be ending. They could both do much better and serve there fans much better. I'm sure my response is not popular like yours isn't....Maybe other 'older' long time fans don't feel this way? Maybe they do but no matter 'how' you do feel. Feelings change as do the music artists. I'd like them to end there careers on a much higher note. Heck you can record & not tour. It shouldn't be just about the $$ heck they should have tons of $$ but I guess they don't if they keep spending it. If they do keep touring solo or group they need to rethink what they are doing on stage and how they can keep justify the high ticket prices for the same boring setlist. Yes, its our fault for paying it too. I'll never say never.....but its getting pretty close to that right now. Disagree if you must.....Put out a better tour etc. Put some heart into your shows....not just go through the motions. Do it for the die-hard fans.....heck do it for yourself. Best wishes, MelanieI understand what your saying as well...even though I kinda got started in the late 80's myself (like '88 ) I loved the fanzine's etc (before the Net)...those were the days and penpals...so cool. I couldn't wait for the snail mail....still love getting snail mail though it is much less these days. Yeah, theres alot of great penpals I had that I got from the old Rumours fanzine days...that totally got out of it...Cheryl/Rose....than something happend to them in the early to mid-90's and esp after 9/11....it kinda happend to me some as well.....sometimes I still question my love of Stevie & Fmac music. I guess apart of me will always love it but its not the same as it was some 20 yrs ago. I guess they've changed and so have I......it happens with age I guess. I don't regret the time either. It does have its place thats for sure......those are cherished times not ever forgotten. Best wishes to you as well.....
Part of me hopes that Fmac & Stevie will surprise us yet again. I still have dreams but I think thats all they are.....unreleased material or masters or re-issues.....etc...if you get the drift.....but I'm sure there only dreams.........:confused:

I thought this was a good post and built upon another very good post from Saint Bernard.
Stevie Nicks is lazy - sorry but I think she is. She wants to live a rock'n'roll lifestyle but not put the work in. She has a back catalogue to absolutely die for. She must have 50/60 tracks that are superb and comparable with the very best musicians in her peer group. On top of that her last studio album was wonderful (my second fave after Bella Donna) and demonstrated that she can still write great songs. I can't believe that she has run out of ideas or isn't still working up new and exciting material.
But the fact is she can earn a decent living tripping 'round the casinos singing Dreams and I don't think she can be bothered anymore. It's just too much effort. Sorry but I don't get excited about the fact that she does a few cover versions - Stevie Nicks has enough great work of her own.
I'll buy the Soundstage cos I'm a fan of the Mac and will buy everything they release, but I'm disappointed with her.

But the fact is she can earn a decent living tripping 'round the casinos singing Dreams and I don't think she can be bothered anymore. It's just too much effort. Sorry but I don't get excited about the fact that she does a few cover versions - Steveie Nicks has enough great work of her own.
I'll buy the Soundstage cos I'm a fan of the Mac and will buy everything they release, but I'm disappointed with her.
This is what I don't understand about some of the fans on here. Stevie has been working in music for 33+ years...she's gonna be 60 next month...how much more do you people expect from her...do you want her to continue going at a non-stop pace until she has a nervous breakdown? Stevie is far from lazy...nostalgic, yes...lazy, no. If she wants to continue doing what she has been doing for the last couple of years, then let her. She doesn't owe us anything. We don't even know if there are going to be any new studio recordings on this release, so why are so many people jumping the gun? Even if there aren't, then yes, it will be pretty disappointing, but no one is forcing you to buy the thing. Why is there so much frustration being vented about her lack of output in a thread about a new release??

Cos the new release is just a re-hash of what we have heard before! Other than a cover version - we have heard this and we have heard it done the same way for quite some time.
I may not have made my point very well but my frustration/disappointment is that she is so much better than this. She has a stack of great songs but doesn't sing them - why wont she learn them and play them? Does she think we don't wanna hear them?
I saw Mavis Staples a few months ago. Ten years older than Stevie, nothing like the talent at songwriting, but my god that woman worked her arse off to play a variety of songs for fans. I'd settle for Stevie not recording a new album if we could hear just a few different tracks played live.

I think we should be happy that she is still performing and touring. I personally don't mind hearing the same songs. I am thrilled that she is still going at 60. Also with learning new (old) songs is that not everyone that goes to see her is a huge fan. I would love to hear a few newer songs but look at the TISL tour...she tried out a few new songs and ended up dropping them because the crowd wasn't into it. Same thing with Say You Will...she dropped Running Through The Garden and Destiny Rules. She wants to make money as well. Don't we all? New songs that people haven't heard in 2o years or don't know at all well some people really only want to hear the classics. You have to step back and look at it from a fan perspective, a non fan perspective and a money making perspective.

As I see it, Stevie is "semi-retired" without making an official announcement as to such.
A few of my family members have retired in recent years, and two of them have taken part-time jobs just to have, as they've said, "something to do."
Stevie's yearly one- or two-month tours are probably her "something to do."
She's too antsy to sit completely still -- hence the touring -- but is probably enjoying not having to deal with the other headaches of the music industry.
Even at that, she seems more determined than ever to get her "Rhiannon" project off the ground -- which, at the very least, should net us another album.
And, yeah, it wouldn't kill her to switch up the setlist a little more, but it's always a fan's choice whether or not they want to pay to see her. When you consider that she could be one of those 60-something performers who isn't doing anything, it's nice that Nicks fans at least have a choice -- even if it's not exactly what we wish she were doing.
Just my two cents.

Yes I agree with that and if she sticks with her two to three month solo casino tour that is fine - but her ambitions with regards to a new Mac tour seem to extend beyond semi-retirement.

I agree with you, and what you said in your previous post. I don't really know that I would say "lazy" though. I think comfortable, and maybe a bit scared that she won't be able to have the success she perceived Trouble in Shangri-La had. Remember she calls this her "masterpiece".
I see where others are coming from as far as not understanding why fans might be unhappy. Something is better than nothing, but at the same time Stevie always says how prolific she is when it comes to writing, and fills us with hopes of all these magnificent projects like the Rhiannon movie, that just never come to fruition. I do get a bit upset with how she places so much value on, for lack of a better word, the casual fan who is really only familiar with Rumours. You know, the one who you end up sitting near at a concert and overhear them telling their friend that Stevie and Lindsey were married for a long time, but got divorced, and that's when she got fat. Stevie is always saying that they can't change the set list too much because it's people like that who won't know the "new" songs. While that's probably true, it is the people like us who would really appreciate it, and it would be nice if she would acknowledge that more often.
As far as fans complaining about these things, this may not go over well, but I feel like we do have the right to do that. We support Stevie financially. In a way, we are her employers, and I know if my performance is less than what is expected of me at work, I am told about it. True, you can say it's about the art, and Stevie is an incredible artist, but as she said in the Destiny Rules Documentary regarding Lindsey "This isn't about art".

Good point, but I think anything Fleetwood Mac-related is always a different story.
No matter how much she bitches about Lindsey, it seems that she can never totally bring herself to say "no" to the band. Whether that's due to loyalty, financial motivation, or if she's just sado-masochistic, it's hard to say.
When it comes to Fleetwood Mac, I don't think Stevie could ever really say "I'm done," like Christine did, and stick with it for very long.

I'll buy the Soundstage cos I'm a fan of the Mac and will buy everything they release, but I'm disappointed with her.I like your post as well....These are thoughts upon thoughts....I didn't say in my posts (as another posters mentioned in this thread) that I wouldn't purchase the soundstage when it was released....but it will still be the same stuff that she's lived off of for years now. I do love some of the known 'hits' but well.....I can get tired of them.....thats why as a singer of those songs I'd think you'd be tired of them as well.....that's why you take chances and change things up some if not for your fans but for yourself. Of course with that being said...Stevie will turn 60 and well.....she's past the age of changing period now. Too set in the comfortable way of doing things the way she has done for some 30-40 yrs now. Not gonna happen. As die-hards we do support her life style. With the music and concerts and merchandise we have purchased through the years (solo & with FMac)....with the praise also comes the hard truth...this is what we will be getting. Stevie & Fmac still have many, many ways commerically that they 'could' release stuff but as of right now choose not too. Stevie could do a Bob Dlyan type thing as release outtakes/masters/extended versions....We all know she has many unreleased songs as well as released songs in different versions. Sadly in some valuet not ever to be heard from again. As well as 'full' concert videos that should be released with many extras....than theres a photo book or she could have her own merchandise online (web site)/she needs a new web site--Nicks fix needs major updating big time. Does anyone recall how wonderful the Sararhiannon web site was.....it made hers pale in comparison really. Great site sad its gone. Same with Fmac--they have more re-issues and dvds they could release but don't. Stevie could also re-issue her own solo catalog with tons of extras.....we all know theres tons....and just think of what we don't know or will never ever know. She doesn't even have to tour to support any of it. I know she or Mac owes us nothing but for themselves and there own pride in there work they should want to get the 'best' out there if nothing else period. Don't even get me started on the 'offical' release of Buckingham/Nicks....will it ever 'see' the light of day? Does it matter since bootlegs have been done for like forever now?? As a fan you have to look at the good and the bad....not just the best......I guess I always thought Stevie wanted to do more for her fans & herself. I don't think I'm really sure of that anymore really. I don't think she is either. This is only IMO that is....I truly mean no offence.....but I can't look at things with rose colored glasses anymore.....it is what it is.......She doesn't need to do covers with all the wonderful songs in her own catalog.....IMO anyway.:confused:

Much truth, this. I'm too lazy lately to write as long of an essay, but I think what you wrote is perfect. I check in to see if anything new and exciting is happening too. But since TISL, what has?

It's so ironic...when Stevie is finally coming out with something new, all of a sudden there are fans coming out of the woodwork saying that they're not going to buy it.
Do we know what's going to be 'new' on it? Lots of old things from the attic turned into pretty stage pieces, like '24 Karat', 'I Can't Wait', 'Blue Lamp', 'Julia', 'If You Were My Love', and 'I Call You Missing'?
Because most likely it will be live versions of 'Crash', EO17, 'Circle Dance', 'Gold Dust Woman', 'Rock And Roll' and 'Stand Back'? What I'm 'hearing' loud and clear on this thread is a bunch of voices saying "meh."

Stevie has NEVER released a live album/CD, ever. And she has 2 live videos, one awseome (In Concert), one EH (Red Rocks) Half of the songs she did at soundstage weren't on either of those DVD's. So I for one am THRILLED to have a great clear clean officially released DVD/CD of an excellent Stevie Nicks performance that includes things like How Still My Love, Fall From Grace, Circle Dance, Sorcerer, If Anyone Falls all on video for the first time. So I see no reason not to be excited about this release.

Actually, seeing Stevie up there on stage wearing bunny slippers might be worth the cost of admission :) Maybe she can sit on a chair on stage and read Charles Dickens to us. In a way, I could go for that too. I am one of those people that are just in awe that she is still with us and wanting to tour and be out there instead of roaming around her rock and roll penthouse fading away. But that is just me. This woman inspires so many people, and love her for that uplifting spirit and energy she seems to emit.
Yes, at times, I am disappointed in her career choices, but it is her career. I really do think there are plans on the horizon for Stevie, we just are not privy to them yet. She is too creative and a free spirit to just settle down for good. The creativity might take on different forms, but I bet it is still there.
Edit: Oh, I agree about being happy about getting a professional clear copy that we will get of HSML and that kick a$$ performance of Rhiannon with the top hat and scarf. And a GDW performance that won't have her with closed eyes, and well, I could go on and on... but am so happy that an official professionally done CD/DVD will be released. I bet come July most of us will be raving about how wonderful it is and making screen caps and new banners.
(but as stated previously, we all are entitled to our own opinion, I just choose to look on the bright side of things I guess - not rose colored glasses, but take anything released by Stevie as a gift).

I just find it disappointing that a thread intended to rely news and updates for this release has turned into an official filing of grievences. Everyone IS entitled to their own opinion(s) of coarse, but this thread was not intended for expressing our disappointments with Stevie. Personally, i find it laughable that some members here want her to keep up a pace where she is continuing to compete with artists who are 1/2 or 1/3 her age. The era of Bella Donna to Mirage to Wild Heart level recorded output is over. What more do you want from her? The woman is clearly burnt out, or at least taking a very extended breather. But for some0ne who has done as much as she has over the last 3 decades, isn't she entitled to keep things simple and do what she pleases?

and just think of what we don't know or will never ever know.
Well, that's a good point. Think how everyone reacted to My Heart. She wouldn't have to do anything new. Just release old stuff that we didn't know about already and people would go absolutely bonkers. One drawback from her perspective might be that she may feel that if she released material with her youthful voice, it might invite a critical comparison to the way she sounds now.
Maybe that's why she has started to do covers, because we have never heard her sing those songs and we can't compare them to old performances, can't say she changed the arrangement to accommodate fewer octaves.
Anyway, TISL worked for her and we knew most of those older songs. If she released some that she recorded but we have never heard, people would be swarming and buzzing non-stop.

Of course she is. And my 75 year old mother is entitled now to sit on her sofa and watch TV and complain about her arthritis and her macular degeneration. But that doesn't mean I don't miss the way she was in 1975, when she could run up and down the stairs like a gazelle and carry 3 full paper grocery bags (remember those?!) in her arms out of the car.
I think if 'Rock And Roll' and 'Circle Dance' rocks someone's boat, more power to them.

It seems like so manny people have ALL THESE bootlegs from EVERY tour that theyve seen a million times, and so NATURALLY, OF COURSE they are board. I loved hearing how still my love, cause iv'e only seen stevie from the street angel tour on, and had never seen it live, cause i dont have all the bootlegs. it kinda spoils the thrill, when something like this DOES come out. its like, Chocolate Cake is Great, but NOT if you have it all the time, it gets to be too much of a good thing. and then you dont enjoy it as much.

Absofrickinlutely!!!! I'd feel GREAT that I went whatever she was touring with, and wearing!! I may not like her set list, or agree with what she sings, but that's NOT my choice- it's HER'S! Does that mean we all have to be ugly and bad mouth her?? No! Does that mean I'm not going to like her music anymore ? No! Does that mean I'm NOT going to buy any of her new cd/dvd 's forthcoming, because I feel she sings the same songs all the time? No! I look at all of the song's she's given us over the past 30+ years, that has gotten me, personally, through some pretty hard times in my life, and I thank GOODNESS that I've had her music in my life to get me through the times it did! Instead of focusing on the positive points of Stevie, people are finding the negative to be more appealing. Why doesn't eveyone take a nice deep breath, remember all of the "GOOD" songs she's given us over the years, and try to forget the "negatives" here.. We have enough "negatives" as it is with the price of gas going up, and the economy situation... I feel Stevie, is one of the BRIGHT points of my life, for sure!

We have enough "negatives" as it is with the price of gas going up, and the economy situation... I feel Stevie, is one of the BRIGHT points of my life, for sure!
Once again...Amen!

I gotta say "high five" on this post for sure! I concur with what you said 500%! It "IS" Stevie's career, and HER choices as to what songs she sings! I don't recall ANYONE holding any guns to my head MAKING me buy tickets to her performances! :p I can't tell you how much she's meant to me over the years, and how much she means to me NOW! I don't regret spending what I have on her over the years at ALL! And will gladly spend more, as long as we are blessed to have her around rocking!

Thanks RockALittle! Sheesh.. after all, it IS a Stevie/FM board, right? Isn't it our love of Stevie that brought us all together- here- in the first place?? And on other Stevie/FM boards and groups? It's because of our love for her that we STILL have all of these awesome pictures and music to share- and great "Stevie/FM" stories and articles to read and share??

Absofrickinlutely!!!! I'd feel GREAT that I went whatever she was touring with, and wearing!! I may not like her set list, or agree with what she sings, but that's NOT my choice- it's HER'S! Does that mean we all have to be ugly and bad mouth her?? No! Does that mean I'm not going to like her music anymore ? No! Does that mean I'm NOT going to buy any of her new cd/dvd 's forthcoming, because I feel she sings the same songs all the time? No! Okay, we all knew that this release was meant to come out, but we didn't knew when..july 1st is great !
Hopefully it'll be released in Europe too around that time. I mean 'Crystal Visions' was released almost silently after 4 or 5 months overhere...I really do not hope that this Soundstage-release will go that same path. I had to import my copy and pray that the DVD was coded for my region as well....which it did :-)
And, IF it will be released overhere, I pray that the sales will be so high that she come over to do some shows...but with this high dollar-euro conversionrates I really doubt that :-(

Personally I don't think its negative to be realistic about things. Like stated in this thread....theres nothing wrong with having different opinions....thats what makes each of us special....I can still say that things are disappointing about Stevies career if I so choose. Just as others have the right to say many different things as well. The facts are Stevie is in the twilight of her career. I don't think she's interested in recording anything 'new'.....sad but true. I do wish she would change her setlist up if not for us fans.....heck for herself really. I do wish she'd release new and old things...I wish for the 'book' of photos or whatever. I'd love DVD's of the whole HBO concert a WH concert or the full RAL concert or a Mirror concert.....etc. She could do a masters/demo /exteneded versions/ or re-issues. She could have her own merchadise web site....she could DO much if she wanted to....but....she choose's not to. If she is tired she really should rest. Take time off....heck I said that years ago in many, many threads.....than 'maybe' she'd be inspired to do something. Yes, its her career and as fans we are along for the ride so to speak.....but much has changed. She will be 60 years old in less than a month....No, I don't think she could put out what she did at the start of her solo career but with 'all' the unreleased material.....she wouldn't have to record nothing just release it like Bob Dlyan has. I like it in the raw form. She may not like the music business in the state that it is in but this is how she makes her living so to speak. She has many business avenues that she could pursue...if she would only try. Seek them out. I think she could make one last great cd with Jimmy Iovine....I think her last cd should be with the man that helped launch it. I think it would be special and great. That's if they could work together again? I'm saddend that some feel its wrong to not fully express your opinion even if it differs from theres. Like its un-fan like to not 'love' everything that Stevie's done. I think its wrong to lie to yourself also. Yes, I love some stuff by Stevie....do I love every song (released or unreleased) NO...do I love every photo... NO....does that not make me a fan....No , I don't think so. I think when you are a fan you have to realise that they are people like you in me (in basics)(although they have lots more $$ than we do).....they try to make the best decisions but don't sometimes. They mess up......I don't dislike anyone here for there different opinion about Stevie or FMac....it is what it is........Its not worth getting mad or angry about......At one time I couldn't stand it when people would tear down Stevie but as I've gotten much older and wiser (I hope) you have to learn to distance yourself from it all....its music and I love music and Stevie's music (& FMac etc...other artists too) will always mean something to me....but its not the end-all-be-all of me as a person.....Stevie herself has her own battles everyday to face that none of us know about.....I know she doesn't have to one thing to please US as fans but....she should please herself.....and in doing so will hopefully please some of US fans but never all......thats just not gonna happen. I just want her to put out the best songs avaible for us. If she stops I want her to stop at a high point not a low point. Thats why I seek 'other' avenues for her. She wouldn't have to tour ever again. She will stop one day. Sad but true. Anyway, I don't think its a negative thing to express how you feel....sometimes when you read these threads too ....you can kinda sense the tension and anger......but we do all love Stevie's music & FMac that's why we are here. So I hope no one dislikes me because of my comments.......I felt this was a safe place to say them .......we don't have to agree.....just agree to dis-agree........I've been a fan for over 20 some yrs now.......others much longer some shorter......I wish all the best for Stevie......and us as fans.......but I still stand by what I've stated in this thread even if it angers some...........:confused:

If Stevie had retired like Christine, then I think it would be more reasonable to say, "Leave her alone. Let her relax and enjoy life. She deserves it." But since she's still touring, still presenting herself to audiences -- fans and dissenters alike -- then I think she's just fair game. Open to both praise and criticism. She's an icon yes, but also still a product, by her own choice. That's an invitation for feedback.
