Sometimes it's a Bitch video (Alternate Japanese Version)

I just watched the alternate edit of Sometimes it's a Bitch that was used to promote the song in Japan. I'm not positive, but it appears that unused footage from Talk to Me may have been used. It makes me wonder if there is more unused video footage floating around. Clearly, there is more footage from all of her video shoots, but I'm hoping that someone got there hands on it. Here are screen caps from the video...

Those aren't outtakes from the Talk to Me shoot, those were shot specifically for the SIAB video. They must keep Stevie's old video sets around somewhere. :shrug:

Hmmm, I don't think that's from the Talk To Me video. It just looks like the other scenes that were specifically shot for SIAB. In the second row, third screen cap from the left you can see the screen behind Stevie where the video montage of her life is playing. Plus her hair and clothes are TS not RAL. Check out the shoulder pads. I like the fan!

I should know better. The dress and boots are different in the Talk to Me video. The set is the same, or a re-build.

It´s a great video, the new version, or for me new version, of SIAB music video. I love all the shots from 1991. I also like that song, Sometimes It´s a Bitch, live version could be very cool.

I've never seen that version either. I wonder how much input Stevie had over what footage was used. I find it interesting that the Angel performance with Lindsey is included- that's probably one of my favorite performances, ever.

thanks, I love the extra shots in the 'hallway'. It'd be great if these alternate versions appeared as bonuses on a DVD release one day.

00:20 on this video is, to me, a very good example of "What was the director thinking???"
Someone thought that looked nice? To film her in such an extreme close up with such harsh lighting- so harsh that it makes her nose vanish??? With light
effects that make her hair look white? Focusing on her droopy Klonopin eyes?

Kicking the pills seems to have given Stevie some of her self-esteem back, thank goodness. Post-Klonopin Stevie would have watched the rushes and would have said "Stop!!! That's my face??!! DO OVER." The director's captured her much more lovingly in videos such as 'Sorcerer', IYEDB, and even 'Blue Denim' for goodness sakes.

This is a cool find and a rare gem for us die hard Stevie fans, but ultimately I think the US version is better. I think anytime we see something new for the first time when we've been so used to seeing another version for so long, we automatically think "oh we like this "new" one better." Stevie looks awkward in those "Talk To Me" hall way shots, just not really graceful with her movements, and at the end with the squatting on the floor - umm, me no likie. LOL. YEP, the editing on the US version is better.

You're exactly right Travis. She looks awkward and almost uncomfortable in the re-dux of the 'Talk To Me' sequences. And she wasn't rocking as good a look as she had done 4 years prior in the TTM video, with the shoulder pads and the added weight.

Who is the young lady in between Sharon and Lori? Is that Liza Jane?
