Stacey Kent's concert will begin at 8 p.m. Saturday. Concertgoers paid $50 per ticket, and the maximum 200 tickets have been sold.

Kent will be promoting her latest CD titled "Breakfast on the Morning Tram.” The CD has gone gold in Paris and Germany, selling more than 500,000 copies.

The CD opens with a slow tempo melodic tune "Ice Hotel.”

Listeners likely will recognize the second track on the CD. Kent takes on the Fleetwood Mac classic song "Landslide” written by the group's front woman, Stevie Nicks.

Several musicians have remade "Landslide” including Smashing Pumpkins and The Dixie Chicks, but Kent brings her own soothing unique style to the song.

We could really use (I hate to speak for everyone) an updated list of FM covers. The Penguin used to keep such a thing, but I don't think it's been updated in ten years.

Last I looked, there were about twenty-six Landslides & about seventy-nine Dreamses.

Q: On your CD, what made you decide to cover "Landslide” by Fleetwood Mac?

A: I picked songs that depicted the mood the best. I think it has beautiful poetry. When we were writing the album, I discovered that Stevie Nicks (of Fleetwood Mac) wrote the song in Aspen, and we were in Aspen whenever we arranged the song. So, I felt like the song was speaking to me.

This was an article about a Women In Need Event:

Samantha Haubert, 17, told her story of sexual assault, and violence survivor Cody Wilt, 16, accompanied by his friend and fellow musician Chris Hepfer, presented a musical tribute to survivors of violence.

Wilt and Hepfer performed "Landslide," a song originally performed by Fleetwood Mac. Wilt chose the song because he felt its message is one of hope and strength.

"When you are in a bad and low place, you can make it through the struggles," Wilt said. "You are able to come out on the other side."
