Dedication to Ledgies

[David]

This is for Bill Nelson, Romy, Wil, Sharon, Mishypoo, Strand, Anita & Carrie because they love music & they love the past & they happy-dance through life & art & sharing. This is one of the two great fugatos in my Happy-Dance-For-The-Ages.

Peace to everyone.

Hmmmm I thought for sure that it was you.

It was in a NAME THAT TUNE thread...and you guessed

http://ledge.fleetwoodmac.net/showthread.php?t=35325

and he told you to "cut that out".

I thought those were affectionate terms... especially the "I could bop you one.!"

[On edit -- that was meant to be a joke -- no offense to either party. No need to ban me when I am so close to my 1,000th post.]

Michelle, your "Viv" in stone is priceless!

I was paranoid that my quoting David and the word "bop" might be sexually offensive...

I didn't want to risk offending either you or David.

Hi David,
I've just noticed the thread, thanks a lot, as Stew Matthews said some Missa Solemnis is always very very appreciated, and this is a wonderful execution.

I reciprocate going baroque this time:

My pal Bill N., who used to be a Ledgie, & I have been working on a close structural analysis of the fugato that ends the Et resurrexit, which we hope to post here soon. Anyone who wants to "jump in," as it were, is totally welcome to do so.

Superb, Romy! Thanks! The Bach is on my Winamp all day!

[Serrart]

Reason: NOT BACH!! VITALI!! Who the hell is that?

Tommaso Antonio Vitali is a baroque Italian composer, but Vitali Chaconne is probably a musical hoax composed by the German 19th Century composer Ferdinando David. Anyway, hoax or not is truly beautiful, IMO, and Heifetz has been probably the best performer for it. I'm glad you like it. :)
