Well, I made up my mind. I'm to take one of my mesh bags and roll it into a tight ball and tuck it into my knapsack that I carry to and from work. I'll just need to remember it's there LOL. I carry so much other junk anyway, I probably won't notice the extra bulk.

Hey, this sounds like the makings of a good 'getting to know you' type of thread. To be continued...

So what IS in your bag right now? Could be your pocketbook, or your knapsack, or your manbag, or your fannie-pack. Do you have enough stuff to survive 3 days in a blizzard? Do your friends and family mock you for it's contents? Or is it all business. Let it all out here, kids..
Here's mine:

Bag type- brown leather knapsack
Manufacturer- 'Leather Tree'
When used- daily, to and from work only

Main section:
'The Power Broker' by Robert Caro, 1000+ page bio on Robert Moses
ID badge for work
Pager for work
Cellphone
Housekeys
Tiny Hagstrom map of NYC and boroughs
Subway map
Empty plastic bag (I get migraines, sometimes I need to vomit- gross, right?)
Scarf
Gloves
Beannie (these will be jettisoned once warm weather is here for good)
Collapsible umbrella (all year long)
Spare ballpoint pen

My lunch and snacks, usually packed in reusable plastic containers.

Smaller zippered section:
Pack of gum (cinnamon burst, this week)
Small screw top tube which looks like a lipstick, contains 8 aspirins.
Tube of 'Orajel'
Two 400mg ibuprofin tablets
Tube of 'Blistex'
'Burt's Bees' hand salve (used on lips actually, Blistex is redundant, can go back in the medicine chest)
Tube of 'Campho Phenique'
Tube of 'TobraDex' (I had a 'stye' a few weeks ago, this can go back in the medicine chest at home)
'Stim-U-Dent' wooden toothpick thingies
One aceteminophin suppository (in case I get a migraine with vomiting and can't swallow aspirin, ibuprofin, etc. Obviously, need a restroom and a few minutes of privacy for this one)
Dozen or so Ativan .05 mg in small pill container (never leave home without them)

hmm...well theres a bunch of writing utensils, 3-4 pens, and even more pencils, a highliter, a bunch of old hall passes, a hairtie, wallet with NOTHING in it, planner, ipod, cellphone, hand sanitizer, tidetogo pen, keys, chanel compact, lipgloss of some sort, and other papers that have nothing to do with anything.

oh and icebreakers mints. fruity ones.

You have my sympathy, I suffer from migraines also. BLECH!

I use a tote that could qualify as carry on luggage. The toliet seat covers got a goofy stare when I pulled one out in a scummy gas station bathroom that didn't have any.

wallet
id badge
keys
garage door opener
cell phone
reading glasses
note pad
pen

smaller bag:
eye drops
lip gloss
chap stick
tissue
lotion
purell
toliet seat covers (heehee)
mirror
Kashi trail mix bar or two
Excedrin
small flashlight
dental floss

Transient items that make it in and out of the tote depending on certain conditions:

umbrella
bottled water
sweater
SPF
nasal spray/allergy medication
vitamins
herbs

I have quite a big shoulder bag with hardly anything in it. I don't ever carry much around. I have:

Purse
Keys
Phone
Address Book
Pack of photos (they're only in there because I took them to show a friend)
Couple of pens
Cheque Book
Mints

Thats it!

(in case I get a migraine with vomiting and can't swallow aspirin, ibuprofin, etc.)

I've got alot of sympathy with you here. I tend to get about 2 hours warning before my migraines kick in but they last about 8 - 12 hours and are completely debilitating. So to have no warning and be this bad must be a nightmare - I just can't imagine it:(.

I'm getting a bit stressed cos I take Propranolol everyday and have done for about 7 years. It is a beta blocker which seems to limit the frequency of the attacks and when they do kick in I take Midrin(?). I think that is a typical UK treatment. My doctor in Chicago wants me to cut back on the propranolol and wont prescribe the same doseage as I've been taking. I'm a bit worried I'll get more migraines.

So I don't carry a bag - just phone, keys, wallet, gum but my sympathy with the headaches - they are ****ty.

Okay, I call bullsh*t on the women on here who do not disclose the 'feminine hygiene products' they carry around in their bags. C'mon, 'fess up. Come clean (so-to-speak). That is the purpose of this thread, isn't it? Lying by omission simply will not be tolerated!

I have had more crap in a bag, but I changed to a small one for spring so I can't fit as much in there.

Yes, very much so. :p

So okay then for everyone else... pads or tampons? Wings or plain? Which do you use and why? Discuss. :wavey:

Even though that might be a little more personal than this thread was calling for, I will humor you... and for reasons I will leave you to figure out, I no longer need to carry such things in my bag. YAY!

OMG. Too funny. You're much more efficient than I. If I must use a dank bathroom (for #2), I will just squat over the toilet and not touch a thing. LOL.

Onto my bag, a red Victorinox Swiss Army backpack.

Main compartment: empty (don't ask)
Upper Pouch: iPod
Lower Pouch: 16GB USB Flash Drive, 1GB USB Flash Drive, wallet, Card Key for building entry, loose change, Burt's Beeswax Lip Balm2 packs of Orbit gum (cinnamint, citursmint) and a lighter.

In another thread you said you did not own a car. So the fact that you carry this around does amuse me.:]

I think you might be confusing me with someone else... there's a desertangl on the board...? Can you find the thread? Man, I hope I'm not posting in my sleep.

On edit: FWIW: vivfox confused me with someone else and seemingly doesn't want to own up to it, for whatever reason. The fact is, I own a very nice car and have no reason to state that I don't own one. Hhmm... wonder what gives.
