well, i know enuf to start. ppl wanna get involved?

i am using freeware programs that are pretty easy and has needed features
(magic has User Friendly Interface, learn basics as you go quickly, buzz is simpler than u think, but you do have to read manual once)

i am seeding a torrent for Magic music maker basic. you can also try to google it, but i dont know how easy it is to find lately. search torrents or piratebay.org (same nic is pirate handle)

i have 50gigs of samples. they are mostly junk. i have to start deleting duplicates and the worst. but i wont mind posting if you looking for sound i can easily find. its just basic techno/trance & house sounds now. there are alot of big packs now as torrents; search samples/loops/artytorrent/liths loops/dunateen (house/techno with first two keywords)

freesound.org has some creative stuff, but you havta search a bit.

i am using buzz for my synth-type program. it loads a whole lot of instruments and effects. read manualy just once and u should be ok, its just ugly. im new, but know how to work it enuf to help/make (ha,ha) music...

i have most of blue denium and rooms on fire (acapellas) beatmached to 135 or 140 bpm. i have a few samples that are potentials for a non worst-remix-in-your-collection. i am just wanting to post something pretty good as a finished product, but if ppl get involved i can post whatever.

some of those piano demos already come with a bit of melody, magic music anybody can throw in some drums and bassline (ha, and other stuff that works ;) real quicklike.

i can post my projects files and samples if ppl go for it.

dont know what schedule is like maybe in/out, working lot/little/none, for next week.

and i have 7W remix on wish list
heres hoping ppl get involved.

edit: if anyone plays guitar (or anything that a HQ sound file can b emailed), feel welcome to submit for remix too plz.
edit:i am using bittorrent. its small (600k) and easy
edit: this is a link for a VST plugin that can load other VSTs. A VST plugin can do a variety of things, think of it as a program written to expand capabilities of another program (Magic Music Maker in this case).
This VST should allow you to use more than just the 2 allowed. You should have it already to go when you install MMM, just so you dont have to re-install MMM to use it (a possible bug).

Hi Eplanet. What do you mean, get involved? Donating sound loops or making remix idea suggestions? or posting finished remixes?

I did a so, so crappy job (1st time attempt) at remixing EO17 last fall.
I had great ideas, but limited time and loops to make it sound better.
Of course, who can really compete against professional mixers?

I know there are some remixes of Rhiannon out there, but none that really get me excited. I would love a Fall From Grace remix, that might sound pretty cool.

I'll see what DJ tools I can send your way.

I prefer new constructions to standard, by-the-numbers dance mixes. I think of a good remix as an actual re-arrangement. I really like what Axwell did with the vocal loop at the beginning of his remix of Dreams and especially when illicit did with the ad-libbed lines in Planets. (Vocal Dub Remix). I love the way they re-edited "you won't forget!" into a cathartic command. It's a totally different song. I did not like illicit's traditional remix. But the vocal dub is genious and it was an incredibly influential dance track in 2001. I love restructured vocals that tell a new story.

I have other acapellas as well.

i tempo'd blue denim soon after you posted it. then worked on Rooms on Fire. i was going to do a really quick one with blue, just to have one finished that i did, but i can put in time on a 2-bit rooms fire same. not sure what ill do 2nite, something i am hopin. start in half hour or so.

edit: ya, lots more freedom with pure acapella. and pretty easy to paste in samples anywhere and do any effects with vocals lots easy with no background instruments. Was going to do a, um, crushed sound with chorus on blue denim to have less sugary pop, and more hard/hardcore for rock dance beat.

edit: ill look on that site (and others) for a freeware VST that is just for FX. that really is the only thing i need now. i have, and seed torrent for Extra Boy (1.2mb), it is also free. it takes out some of the music, or takes out some of the vocals, for remix things we dont have acapellas for {it dont do anything to a piano :( }

I thought I was speaking Ebonics? Obviously, I butchered it just like butchered French. This is what happens when I try to fit in.
