Not to start a new thread about this but with this unclarity about Sheryl Crow being an actual "member" of FM, I'm wodnering if all this tip toe-ing around on the wordings we've seen "collaborate with", "join" (as in, on tour? or member? etc.) is their way of putting out feelers to see what the reaction will be like so they'll know whether to go the whole hog or not with this, so I thought a simple yes/no poll might make it easy for them, so this thread really should just be for votes & it's probbaly best to keep comments in the other main thread about this unless you really are in the middle about this but I think it's a prety straightforward thing, either you like the idea of her being a member or you don't. Maybe I've overlooked some things about this & there'll be a lot of people that will describe their "in between" feelings about this below and who knows "they" probably aren't lurking here, but if they are... :)

Does FM need to tour again or are they a dinosaur?
Mick & John are road dogs and will get on the tour bus.
Mick & John don't write songs, and they don't sing.
Mick loves the publicity.
John loves someone else taking care of him. (IMO)
They are all approaching their 60's, (dinosaur status?) but the Rolling Stones are still rocking.

What does FM need to record and tour again?

-Third song writer (Stevie is out of ideas IMHO)
-Female (to appease Stevie and add to her girlfriends)
-Player (some one who can add to the band, and not just sing)
-Someone with name-recognition to sell tickets
-Someone to counter balance Lindsey
-Someone secure and experienced enough to tread into foreign (FM) territory

With that being said, I am NOT a Sheryl Crow fan...but who else fits the bill?

But she wrotes so many songs she haven´t ever released, so it can be what to record with FM as a new album. I know so many amazing demos she could record once more and release as a FM song.

Some next SYW with 6 Lindsey´s, 6 Sheryl´s and 6 Stevie´s songs would be really great. Why not?;)

Sorry but Fleetwood Mac to me is Mick, John, Lindsey, Christine & Stevie. I know there's been many incarnations before and since that line-up but to me that is THE line-up. I think S. Crow will be an awkward addition to the band. I don't consider her (or anyone outside of the 5 I mentioned) a "part" of the band anyway, I consider them "guest members". It's nothing personal against S. Crow - I could take her or leave her - it's just that the Mac I've grown up with and Love is the only Mac for me.

Well, if sheryl is what it takes to make them come out one more time ---then ok. It will be interesting.:blob2:

Sheryl Crow should never, ever become a member of Fleetwood Mac. I don't mind if she works on a song or two but that's it.
I really can't see her putting her own career on hold to work on new Mac CD either. Can you imagine how long it would take SN and LB to record a new CD? They can't seem to agree on anything. Poor Sheryl will be running out of there and right into therapy.

Well the Mac is a band of ever changing lineups. I dont think Crow fits in well with them. I think they should just grab another ex member. But I'm also of the mind that Chris is just not replaceable. I'd like to see another Lindsey/Stevie/Mick/John record...if not that I'm just not sure I'd be interested.

Whatever it takes to divert the focus OFF of "Buckingham Nicks" is just damned fine by me.

OK .. question for all those saying NO......does that mean you would not go and see them in concert, should they be near you????

If they just went on tour together without recording a new album, I would not waste my money on a concert ticket.

I wouldn't. I'd see them if it were just the four or with Christine--or even with Bekka, who'd I love to see sing.

I just think adding Sheryl Crow is wrong; it's a sad attempt to force the band into high profile. I wouldn't want to watch the rest f the band work her in to the material or try to blend with her.

Amen.
I can take or leave Sheryl on her own, but I think she sounds dreadful next to Stevie.
Great big no with knobs on from me. :distress:

I used to adore Sheryl's music but in the past few years, it does nothing for me anymore. From a nostalgic point and the fact that she has worked with Stevie, I still love that older stuff. I personally don't think she should be in Fleetwood Mac. She has mentioned in the past loving the Mac & Stevie, wishing she were in a band like the Mac and how someday she might join them so I can see it happening but I don't think it would be in the band's best interest. Sheryl is a solo artist and where would that start and end...would it spill into the band's established formula? As for female foils, Stevie's girls Sharon and Jana (before her there was Mindy) so Stevie is not totally shut off from female contact. So, in summary, I am just not keen on this idea. I miss Christine and I do feel as a foursome the band is missing something but I don't think Sheryl is the answer.

I have been for it since before SYW!

but let me add, I think it was a little tactless to go say "Well, I am joining Fleetwood Mac, and we are gonna tour and its gonna be great!" before things were even carved in stone, and then have to go back and say "Oh, well, I mean, we are talking about it" and then have LB come and clear the air....
