. . . .Tuesday, June 10 - Alpharetta, GA at Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre at Encore Park
On sale: March 14 at 10AM

. . . .

This venue is brand new and she will be one of the first acts there. It is about 20 miles north of downtown Atlanta. Getting there and back will be insane with traffic - though maybe not on a Tues. night.

No, that is now called HiFi Buys Amphitheatre and is actually in the city.

Def. not excited about all these new venues opening up in the suburbs. Wasn't that supposed to be one of the perks of living in the city? The traffic WILL be insane. They'll have to start all the weekday shows there late because no one will get there on time!

This will probably be the first time Stevie has been in town since 2003 that I will miss. Don't have the money these days to shell out huge bucks to hear her sing the same damn 15 songs again

Atlanta city planners are not very efficient. To me, it would have made WAY more sense to build this theatre within walking distance of the North Springs MARTA station. That way, in towners and others could take the train, which would alleviate about 75% of the traffic. And, that station is not too far (five miles) from where they built the venue. Of course, he planners suggest that concert goers can take the bus - yea right  I suppose someone politician's brother in law owned some land in Alpharetta

Awesome!! Yeh~ I want to know about the April and any May dates? This piece by piece thing is annoying~ I live in upstate NY and don't want to buy Ontario and Pennsylvania tickets if she's going to come some where closer~yet I don't want to miss out on those shows either if she doesn't come anywhere closer to me! Thanks for the compliment~ the pic is from I think 1979-80 time frame~ its not Lori and Sharon~ the girl with the blond hair is the same girl that's in a lot of pics with her from that time period~ I don't think its Robin, I'm not sure of her name~ and the brunette doesn't look familiar~ but its not L or S~ I'll see if I can post it up for you if I can get it any bigger~ I don't think so though~ I was a little mad it showed up so small for my sig~ I'm gonna try though!

I dont know how many people this place near Atlanta is supposed to hold, but it looks like form the dates announced so far, Stevie's people have finally gotten some sense into their heads and gone for the smaller 5,000 seat or so venues. I can remember going back as far as 2005, even at the 3 Vegas shows I was at in May, there were empty seats at the back of the venue, and the Colosseum holds 4,000 I think. It just doesnt make sense for her to play large venues anymore. And personally I will enjoy a show more if it's a fuller audience than if it's half empty.

Stevie Nicks plans concert in Alpharetta
By Marcus K. Garner | Monday, March 10, 2008, 05:32 PM

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution

Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre at Encore Park continues its parade of classic rockers with the announcement of Stevie Nicks’ June 10 concert.

The pop soloist and one-time Fleetwood Mac frontwoman swings her now-five-date 2008 tour through Alpharetta.

Tickets go on sale 10 a.m. Friday at Ticketmaster outlets.

Known for her work with the on-again, off-again Fleetwood Mac, Nicks’ solo ventures during the ’80s helped to fortify an already impressive musical resume she had with the band.

The Mac album “Rumors” and her first solo project “Bella Donna” made her a star. And singles like “Gypsy,” (Watch video) from Fleetwood Mac’s 1982 “Mirage” LP, or singular tunes “Stand Back” (Watch Video) and “Stop Draggin’ My Heart Around” (Watch video) helped cement her place in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Nicks joins the list of throwback artists either making comebacks with recent albums (Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers or The Eagles) or reviving old material (Rod Stewart) at the open-air venue (CHECK SHOW DATES).

Owned and operated by the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, the $35 million outdoor amphitheater will seat 12,000 in a mixture of open lawn space, reserved seating and tables.

In addition to the bevy of rock acts, ASO will fill out the bill with a number of performances, beginning with the venue’s opening concert on May 10.

For tickets, contact Ticketmaster at 404-249-6400 or www.ticketmaster.com.

I'm waiting for more dates to pop before I make a final decision on which ones to go to. I can comfortably afford 5 or so, so the Biloxi/Atlanta thing sounds intriguing, depending on which show are added in between those 2. The only thing that concerns me about Biloxi though is that I Assume the Hard Rock set up is similar to the HOB venues I've been to in that there's like hit dance floor with balcony seating. And I'm not sure how many tickets they'll be selling either. I love the idea of Boston too, but I'm again waiting to see whats added surrounding that show. Like Guns 'N"' Roses once said, "All you need is patience."

My friend's husband went online for us at 10AM to get tickets (for the Georgia show) and at 10:03 the best he could come up with were 28th row at $125 each (including fees and taxes). Uh, no. Bank of America Pavilion

This is a great venue. My husband and I saw Squeeze and Cheap Trick there last summer. We got the cheapest seats, the ones not covered by the pavilion. We were concerned it would be too far back, but it wasn't bad at all. You sit at little round tables that seat four (tables are assigned by ticket -- if you go w/ a group of less than four, you'll be sitting with people you don't know). You can hang out and enjoy beers and snacks at your table while taking in the show. We were lucky that it was a nice night -- would suck if it rained. It can be quite chilly there on the water, so definitely plan to bring a jacket!

For Bostonians, the June 22 is nothing short of a miracle. Stevie typically performs in Mansfield, Mass (a long drive from Boston) at an outdoor amphitheater with a parking lot that is actually a forgotten hellmouth. Exiting can take over an hour.

The Bank of America Pavilion is a 15-minute walk from my condo and a five minute walk from public transportation. I have friends that plan to take the afternoon ferry from Cape Cod/Provincetown to Boston just for the show. The ferry docks right next door to the Pavilion. It's a two minute walk from the wharf to the entrance of the Pavilion.

Capacity is 5,000. Stevie tickets are $35 for uncovered concourse table seating; covered seating offers two levels - Level 2, $65; Level 1, $85. There's an additional $5 "venue charge" per ticket.

MattNo but it's an easy subway ride from there. What you have to do is get on the Silver Line at south station and take it to the Silver Line Way stop. When you exit, the Pavilion is a short walk away. I cant believe I know this and I'm not even from Boston. Guess I've been there enough times.

The South Station bus terminal is a short walk - about 10 minutes or so - to the Pavillion. You can take the Silver Line bus, but it would be faster (and possibly less confusing) to just walk. I live in South Boston, about 15 minutes from the Pavillion.

I have another question regarding Amtrak. Does anyone know of way to get to Boston Using the Amtrak. I took the bus the last time but it is a very long ride 2:30 AM - 3:15 PM. If anyone can help that would be much appreciated.

It looks as if you'll have to take the train to NYC and then take another train to Boston. Here is the schedule from NYC to Boston.

I just saw Atlantic City posted on Daniel's site for June 20 at Borgata. So finally something new! Ok lemme say that it states UNCONFIRMED so I wanted to get that straight. But I also heard that there's going to be 2 shows there. June 20@21. So Let's see what comes of that.

I saw that the Dave Matthews Band will be at the Staples Center for (I think) two nights in August. It made me think about Stevie. If she thought he would be on her Soundstage, the two of them must have been talking recently. Wonder if they discussed doing any dates together.

DMB will be in Boston on June 24th and she has her show in Boston on the 22nd. Duet, perhaps?
