I've been looking through all the various pic threads and I notice a conspicuous (sp?) absence of Tango era so i was wondering, does anyone have any cool ones they'd like to share? If so, thanks!:angel:

I love Tango pictures!
Most people think I'm nuts for saying this, but I think Stevie looked pretty hot during this tour.

You know the shot of them from the Big Love video where they are on the beach with a fire and they are all in winter clothes? They are being filmed from overhead? That is my favorite image of them. They must like it too, because it was used again in Paper Doll. I wish they had posters from that shot.

They are on the beach, but they might as well be standing on the face of the moon. So stark and dramatic.

OMG. That's exactly how I feel about that shot. It's amazing!! I didn't think anyone noticed this but me! When I was a teen, about 1987 or '88, I used to rewind the VCR back and forth to catch that scene. (I used to tape videos from MTV back then)

Can you go back to 1996? How? I used to post on alt.music something back in the day too, even as far back as 96 I think. Maybe further back. You and I became acquainted either there (or maybe on the old AOL board). Is there a search engine just for those usenet boards?

With Google I think you can search a specific board, but I don't know how far back the posts go. At least to 2001. Of course, we'd have no way of finding David's. What search terms would we put in: Big love unsmiling coats . . .

You know, now I'm just getting mad at FM thinking about this. We should have that video on DVD.

I also like the ending when Lindsey's head snaps around to face the camera. I like my Macsters demonic and sinister. Don't give me no smiling band!

I just used Google's news search thingie, it only seems to go back to 2001 for any 'petep9000' posts for me. Maybe there is another search engine that's more robust out there? Or, maybe the old messages were tanked. Remember, back then disc space was a premium.

Oo, I just read one of mine from 2001 or so, where I suggest Stevie maybe had a relationship with Les Dudek and questioned what Rupert Hine's real situation was. I was flamed to death by another poster, in all caps. "IS THIS WAS YOU GUYS DO? LURK HERE AND THEN POST THIS GARBAGE?" I'm paraphrasing, but she went all harpy on me. I love the pic on the bottom, Stevie looks like a bat there.

I know we've totally hijacked this thread. Can we stand a few more minutes of 'Big Love' talk?

John looks amazingly cool in the opening as the cam pulls down the hall and he's in shades
I'm thinking Linds and Stevie weren't BFF's at this time, but it's nice she had a few cameos in this video
Stevie does look tired. Like she had just 'rocked a little' the night before
Shari is sporting the 'Something About Mary' hairdo in a few scenes of this video
How come videos aren't this cool and conceptual anymore?? Now it's all style and no substance.
Is the 'big old house' at the end of the video where they are playing, is that one of Stevie's houses?
If I could do a video for WISYA, I'd use the flying-Lindsey-in-outer-space effect too, but different. Instead, he'd be barefoot and sitting Indian style, while playing. And he'd be slowly drifting off into the distance with the "again and again...over and over..." parts until he was gone.

I love the Big Love video! I think I've read somewhere it took them hours in the freezing cold to get that beach-shot.

Stevie looks amazing in Big Love video! One of her best looks ever!
Is true that when Big Love video was filmed, that she make some close ups to Red Rocks video? Her haircut is clearly different in some moments during Red Rocks video and she looks there like really in Big Love video:laugh:.

But I love that haircut and dress!

But it´s incredibly amazing that there are still some photos I haven´t in my collection of Tango photos. And everytime I saw some new pics I like this era more and more:thumbsup:.

And thanks to Sanne2 for your specification, maybe two last of following pics are from OSOTM or BTM tour too... ? Sometimes it´s very difficult to find true tour when was these photos taken.

Some others:

The second to last pic is BTM and the very last is OSOTM :)
You're right, it is difficult with some photos to tell wat tour they are from, especially with pictures taken between '87 and '91. I had a lot of trouble with that timeframe and I still have trouble sometimes with Behind The Mask pics and candid photo's.

You're also right about Stevie's hair in the Red Rocks close-ups, those were filmed around the same time as the Big Love video, but I don't think on the same day.

It has always seemed to me that there was a lot of physical contact in the Tango pictures and stuff, lots more than we got for Tusk and Mirage. They were all touchy feely for some reason, which is odd since everything was just on the verge of blowing up.

Stevie made Rupert sound like Mr. Rochester in Jane Eyre. I began to think maybe he had a crazy wife hidden away in the attic and, once Stevie found out about her, they could never, ever be together.

Stevie has some kooky hands too, believe me. Her thumb is always in a strange upward-curved position, and there is/was a RAL or early TITN era paparazzi pic where she is peeking over a limo window and her crooked pinky is visible. I never noticed it, by my friend Chris used to laugh at it and brought it to my attention. I think maybe she fell off her bike when she was little, or something.

This is just an optical illusion because if you look real close you'll see that the thumb actually belongs to her RIGHT hand, not her left like we would see at first glance. Look closer Liam, you;ll see what I mean. Oh and thank you for providing me with a Tusk concert photo I've never seen before!
