Great news, Arlene!!!

~ sigh ~ It has been an insane week for me and I am much deserving of a serious cocktail. Let's see . . . I guess I'll stick to the usual: A very large glass of merlot. Chilled, of course.

I have to pick up our two from school shortly and take them down to their fathers. So I'll be doing a bit of the 'happy' families thing! He's only having them for one night cos he has 'more important' things to do Saturday.

I SOOO love that word bollocks as well! Every time I hear John use it, I swear I crack up for like 30 minutes afterwards.. I've also grown to LOVE the show "Ramsey's Kitchen" on the BBC every Thursday night, and that word gets used more than anything.. well.. maybe other than the "f" bomb.. ROTFL

We've had this discussion here before but we (Brits) have a few swear words like bollocks that are quite inoffensive really....but the Americans I work with go straight to using the f word. It takes a bit of getting used to........

See.. to me bollocks is HILARIOUS.. I don't know why it just comes across as funny to me.. but it IS much better then the "f" bomb for sure, and you are right.. To me, that doesn't sound offensive at all.. I need to try using that word, verses the other at work, and see what the consesus would be.. Now, keep in mind, this is in Texas.. ROTFL:laugh:

I went out with some friends last night, and as always I was the designated driver as I drink very little alcohol ever. I actually did have a Malibu Pineapple with Midori last night, but that's it. My friends though, thats a different story. Oh well, we all made it home safely and thats what matters.

Malibu Pineapple with Midori last night

That sounds exotic - the sort of thing Strandinthewind would drink. I've had two alcoholic drinks since October. I don't drink much anyway but my g/f's two brothers got me stinking drunk on Whisky. I was in bed for two days thinking I would die - so the smell of alcohol just makes me feel sick now.

I don't remember the last time I drank to the point of being ill. Despite starting these threads I really don't drink that much alcohol.

Do we know for certain she's joining? Or just touring with them? I'll meander over to that forum in a sec.

And yes... he returned to the UK on Monday. Apparently his latest spawn is due in July. He is supposed to break the news to the kids over the weekend... I await the fallout...

No we are working ourselves into hysteria over something that may or may not happen!

Had she been joining the E Street Band, I would have been rioting in the streets of Chicago:) but it isn't clear.

Good luck with the 'news'. Will this arrival be the excuse the pay less maintenance?

granted, that 3 pt shot at the end was awesome, i'm not denying that. But they should have called that foul when the guy knocked bradley down.

The offciating was a travesty. Clearly a charging foul bowling over Bradley at game end. As Bob Knight said on ESPN, if it's a foul in the first minute of the game then it's still a foul in the last minute. Kentucky was robbed big time.:mad:

And how about the sorry treatment of UK fans? 20,000 with tickets turned away when the game was postponed and switched to 9,000 seat Georgia Tech's place after the tornado struct the Georgia Dome. The UK fan boards are ballistic with venom right now. The SEC officials blew this horribly. They should have waited out the storms and played the game in the middle of the night if necessary. I know UK people that spent thousands, including transportation, hotels, and tickets...and didn't see a single game. This SEC tournament was a complete disaster.

Give a lot of credit to Georgia for going on to win a second game, beating MSU, the same day!!

yeah, no ****. I mean, I know there would have been more than 9,000 KY/GA fans...but come on. they could have figured out a way to either make them upgrade tickets or something. Not that this was the reason they lost, but KY has such a huge fanbase, and it creates a completely different atmosphere when you go from 24,000 fans at a home game, to 300. seriously? SERIOUSLY? I'm not saying they should have played in the middle of the night, because they had no idea when the warning for the second band of thunderstorms was going to be lifted, but it was just a bad situation all around.

and i completely agree about the foul. I know it happens all the time and coaches do it to purposely get a foul, but come on. and WTF was up with (was it stevenson?) who got the technical foul at the very end during a free-throw? um....?? wtf was he thinking. I heard some talk about him losing his balance and he thought the ball had already started to go down, but not completely sure what that was about.

By rule, swatting away a freethrow is goaltending. I didn't know it was a techincal and neither did Billy Clyde.

Michelle, I live in Los Angeles so could only get the game on Yahoo Sports. It was ridiculous. There were only about 500 people including media in a 9,000 seat arena. Meanwhile 20,000 UK fans were screaming, pushing outside wanting to get in. I know Uk fans that were there and apparently there was pushing, shoving and inevitable fights broke out (even among UK faithful, just awful). It's a sad day and black eye for the SEC.

I just hope this traggic loss doesn't cost UK an NCAA berth.

right, i didn't realize it was technical either, but whoops.

ooh that's horrible. and yeah, if i had paid the bucks for those tix, i'd be screaming, pushing and wanting to get in as well.

and naaah. i'm sure they'll be an 8 or 9 seed.which means they'll play a number one seed the second round and won't make it to the sweet sixteen. Which also means while i'm in london (march 28-april 5) I won't have to worry about hunting down a bar that gives a **** about march madness
