And couldn't go any further. She gets a check plus, for effort and for loving a nugget like SG which isn't as well known as 'Stand Back' or 'Rhiannon'. But, quite a few points deducted for delivery. I do like the Illume candles on pillars though, and who doesn't like a roaring fire? Next time she vids herself doing a FM/Stevie tune, we'll make arrangements for a proper wardrobe for her. The stone-washed jeans and suede vest say "Yeah, I drive a truck for a living. Got a problem wit' dat?" You know at the last minute she decided against the feather earrings that she'd normally 'dress up' that outfit with.

I kind of admire these people for uploading themselves for the world too see. Foolish? maybe. Delusional? maybe. nontheless, I admire it.
So, not to sound uptight, but I really don't find the classist "truckdriver" humor very funny  (atleast, that's how it came off to me. Prob. not your intention ;) )

American Bandstand
Rate-A-Record, where three kids would listen and then rate a new song, was a very popular segment. Rankings went from 35 to 98.
I'd give it a 90.
(I am old and no longer hip, but I liked it.)
The performer was in the shadows so I was more into the song, than the production.... And maybe I just like the song, so I rate IT a 90.....

OMG! It was just a snarky joke. Believe me, I come from the most humble, lower-working class roots you could possibly imagine. 'Truck Driver' is just one of those things we used to say. If we used bad language or had sloppy manners when we were kids, my mom would yell "Eh ya sound like a buncha truck drivahs from Brooklyn". Or worse, she'd bellow to us "Whaddaya, a long shoreman or somethin'?" (I come from a long line of Brooklyn long shoremen, men who work on the docks).
No offense to anyone. Espceially to you, lady, who dares to sing 'Sweet Girl' on youtube for all the world to see. You go gurl.

I hope this person isn't a ledgie, she'd probably be pretty hurt to read your description of her Pete. Just sayin'. And I've definitely seen/heard worse. Like some performances I've done, for instance. :p

Well, it saves money because you don't have to buy a sep. dip. Sort of like the El Camino in the 70's - all the convenience of a truck with all the luxury of a car

And - the green bag merely punctuates the color scheme of the bedspread if not the ersatz politeness of the room. Was the 1982 Pontiac Safari wagonesq "veneer" still firmly glued to the particle board that formed the basis of the furniture.
Finally, this singer has a good voice

This chick in my neighborhood when I was a kid (like 12) wanted one sooooo bad - that line "all the convenience of a truck with all the luxury of a car" is a quote from her. She also had the largest breasts I'd seen then and since then -- ah youth!
A comparison I've never heard before, but I do track my stuff online and tracked this video to here...
Thanks for those who stuck up for me.
My name is Robin Gibson and I am a singer songwriter, that is not a suede vest, but merely a t shirt with the sleeves cut off over my long johns as I do live in Ireland and it is cold here in the winter.

I really didn't think that was that bad.
Reminds me though that I should probably record those songs of me playing piano. I've been talking about those for MOOOONTHS!!!! Don't feel good that I haven't done them yet.
That was really nice! I like the raspiness of your voice.
BTW, the eralier posted video (one of my faves of SN/FM related youtube stuff watched WAAAAy before I even registered here) - I understand those people are Ledgies? Can someone identify them? I'm a fan!

Robin did a great job with Sweet Girl and Landslide. I don't get the "truck-driver" comment either:confused:
You should upload videos of yourself playing piano, why not? If you have a gift why not use it!:blob2:

I contemplated this posting all day, wondering if I would have the balls to post this. But what the hell, the worst thing Robin can do is tell me to go stuff it (and I wouldn't blame her). But anyway, I am apologizing for being so mean and making cheap jokes about your vest and for my truck driver comments. I have been making an effort to try to make amends for past bad behaviors, though it never takes away the fact that I said hurtful things.
I am sorry if I hurt your feelings. I was terrible.
-John
p.s feel free to make fun of anything on my blog, especially any of the Stevie Nicks visions videos I make. Here's some topics:
- Talk with my hands too much
- Use poor grammar
- NY/Brooklyn working class accent pops in unexpectedly, especially when excited
- Say "uh" too much
- Get too misty and mushy
- Bad hair days, most days
etc etc etc
I was touched by your lil apology. If it were me, I'd bear no grudge after that :)
Thank you for the nice apology...would it have happened if I wouldn't have found this I don't know. The thing is you see. When you do put yourself out there, you must take the good with the bad. So...on that note apology accepted, but not necessary. Just thought it a weird comparison. I did think of something funny to say though and wasn't going to post it, but now that you mention it. When you said you got to 2.50 seconds, I was going to say probably longer than it takes you in .....?
Funny?
By the way. Because I am such a confused artist as to which genre I want to be in, I have a terrible time, because I write every type of music and sing every type of music. I have set up my country website.
