American Bandstand --
Rate-A-Record, where three kids would listen and then rate a new song, was a very popular segment. Rankings went from 35 to 98.
"It has a good beat and you can dance to it."
"I'd give it an 85."

It was good --- easy on the ears, and lasted 9 + minutes.... my kind of song...
[On Edit -- "Dick, (as in Clark), I listened to it again....and .... I raise my rating...."I'd give it a 92."

OK, so I am spamming this thread and upping my post count (+1) I want to eventually catch up with Kathy1...
The concensus here at the office...
Becca - "It's pretty good for '97. Microphone on the vocal needs to be louder." 93
Jaime - "I prefer country but this is OK...not bad." 80
Caroline - ""Not bad for a club recording. I'd want to hear it live." 90
Eric - "Ok." 87
Fred - "I'm an old timer. Don't ask." (Fred is a senior citizen 65 years young.)
Which gives us an average of 87.50 and 6 people who listened simutaneously for about 3-4 minutes.... (Boss came out of his office and workers had to scatter...)
~~~~ Happy Screw Around Friday ~~~~ Everybody!!!
This rocks. It's so rare to hear a band in a bar these days that can actually do what the bands used to do at Woodstock or the Whiskey.
Aren't you the guy who posted the photo of Harry Potter and the Half-Naked Prince?
(I laughed over that one..)
...if I have you mistaken with someone else...
As Emily Litela used to say...
Yep....that's the one.
And your SNL reference was a classic comeback! I laughed so hard, my 17 year old kid paused Guitar Hero ---and screwed up the song--- to come look at the computer.
You live in my TVland...
(BTW...did you ever see the movie called THE GROOVE TUBE?) I think it was the precursor for SNL.
I haven't seen or heard of it before now.
I looked it up on Netflix. You think it held up enough to be worth a view nowadays?
It starred Chevy Chase and was the first (to my knowledge) to have *fake* commercials...I don't remember a lot about it, but I laughed (back in ? 1974-75 ?) when I saw it.
Let me think and try to remember it -- (i.e. the degree of tasteless and offensive humor...)
And it would probably be dated, by today's standards...
