Last night on a current affair show "Today Tonight" in Australia there was a segment about rock bands from the 70s/80s holding successful tours here. Short clips of various bands, including SYW tour of 2004 were shown. (Great the see Stevie got the most coverage!)
Andrew McMannus, the promoter of FM 2004 and Stevie 2006 Australian Tours was interviewed. Andrew didn't say this, but the commentator reeled off a few bands "coming our away in 2008" and included Fleetwood Mac in the list.
I'm unconvinced at this stage. I wish these things didn't come up and get me hoping! The only bit of credence is that McMannus was involved in this story and it's feasible he knows something that the public don't. He is quite a high-profile promoter in Australia at present with a good business relationship with Stevie - anyone heard her say "thank you Andrew" at the end of Landslide on Crystal Visions? - that's him.
Has anyone noticed that www.fleetwoodmac.com currently says "new website coming soon"? I'm told this often happens when a band are going to do a comeback tour or album, but again I shouldn't get excited.
Does anyone have any new information?
