$3,000,000.
Ronald C. Brown and his wife, Katherine, paid cash for a 7,299-square-foot home with pool originally built in 1983 on the east side of the Orange Tree Golf Resort in Scottsdale. Ronald Brown is president of Atrium Holdco LLC, a private hotel investment company He is the current chairman of Phoenix Children's Hospital's board of directors. The home was sold by Stephanie Lynn Nicks, as trustee of the Nicks Revocable Trust. Stephanie Lynn Nicks, better known as Stevie Nicks, is a singer-songwriter best known for her work in the 1970s with the band Fleetwood Mac. Nicks is a native of Phoenix.

Hmm. I wonder if this was her parents home? Or is it the Paradise Valley house?

Neither. Or as Lindsey would say, "in a word, no."

The same question popped into my head, initially. Upon second look at the article, the words "Scottsdale" "Revocable Trust" and "trustee" immediately led me to believe it was mom and dad's pad. My brother, as trustee of my parent's estate, is currently selling their house as both have now passed. I assume there was something written in Mr. Nicks' Will that directed sale of the house. I'm not surprised that Stevie was chosen as trustee. ;) I can also only assume she probably, for the most part, had "her people" handle many details of the responsibility. I hoped there would be a picture of the house. Since names and approximate location of the home were published, I wouldn't think it was an issue of privacy.

It's her Paradise Valley home that this is reporting the sale to on. What are the chances of her owning two properties in Pheonix with exactly the same square footage?

Indeed, a perusal of multiple listing service data shows that the 7,299-square-foot house now is on the market. http://www.bergproperties.com/blog/rocker-stevie-nicks-lists-her-five-bedroom-house-in-paradise-valley-ariz-for-38m/1465/celebrities

I agree. Stevie's PV home wasn't far from the Scottsdale border so maybe at one time it was located in Scottsdale. Stevie's Mom also lived in PV but closer to the city of Phoenix's border.

Now that I've read what you all wrote and then re-read the sale article, I do believe it could be her PV house. I just don't recall it being next to the resort that was mentioned. However, the location is next to some resort, just don't know the name of it.

They paid $3,000,000 in cash? Is that really possible?

I bet they're big fans of hers, like us, except they're really rich.

The fact that the square footage matches seems a strange coincidence, however, a lot of the other details don't match. This is confusing, for sure. The pictures of her PV home, the one she bought in '81, is awesome. I've seen pics of it before, but none that were that good. Wow!! I agree about the $3m "cash" - WTF?!

I used to work for a beer distributor as a sales rep and it was a family run operation that eventually became huge, of course. Anyway, the owner and I were friends and he once told me that he sold one of their homes for 2.5 million and it was paid for, in full, with a check, when they all went out to dinner one night. I can't even imagine.

I hope that they at least used large bills and not rolled coin. That is crazy I mean who would walk around with that much cash? I wonder if using a cashier's check is considered 'cash'?

Yes. It would be. Paying cash refers to no financing whatsoever on the property.
