Does anyone know if Stevie has any particular fondness for precious jewelry (ie, not stage costume jewelry). Not that I expect her to go on the record and brag about what pieces she has, but I don't think I've heard speak much about jewelry.

She wrote a song called '24 Karat', about a 24 karat 'chain of chains'- I would love to see her in a real 24 karat gold chain. You can buy 24k gold at Chinese and Indian jewelers, it's very bright and very yellow, but also more malleable than regular gold so it has to be treated gentle. Still, she'd look gorgeous in it.

Here are the only jewelry references I can remember from her:

An interview from the OSOTM era, where she recounts the fire she had over her garage and how she made a quick mental list of what she could take and still survive. She said she wanted to take her tapes, journals, jewelry, dog, and cashmere blanket.

An interview with skater Tai Babylonia that was printed on Nicksfix years back, where Tai describes her half-moon pendant that was a gift from Stevie.

Her commentary on 'Crystal Visions' where she speaks about the 'If Anyone Falls' video and I think she said something like "What was I thinking" regarding the necklace she was wearing.

One anectdote she gave in an interview about a diamond and sapphire bracelet a fan sent her which turned out to be real and worth several thousands of dollars. Anyone have a pic of this?

That's all I can remember. In her early years, she seemed to favor silver and turquoise or moonstones. The of course, she got into the half-moon pendant, the pyramid pendant, and in the Klonopin era I recall her wearing large (rhinestone?) crucifix and bracelet.

She owns a bracelet that used to belong to Janis Joplin, I've heard her mentioning it in several interviews so I guess she's quite fond of it.

I wonder if it the silver one with the white moonstone (or turquoise) that she used to wear on stage and in publicity pics in the 75-77 period. I think I've only seen it in b/w, but it appears to be a single cabachon set stone, about the size of a quarter or so. I could see Janis wearing that, with a zillion other bangles.

I take that back. Here is a color pic of the bracelet I'm thinking of. Not a moonstone at all, but a turquoise. I wonder if this is the Joplin bracelet.

Found an anecdote in a Harper's Bazaar interview from 1997:

She holds up a gleaming rope of polished stones, clusters of garnets that look like raspberries.
"Janis' beads," murmurs Kim.
"Janis Joplin's actual beads," says Nicks. "It is just so wild that I've never lost them." The are quiet for a moment, fingering the necklace.

So now I wonder if there's also a Janis Joplin bracelet or if I just confused it with this necklace?
Lol, now I need to find a pic of her wearing a raspberry-red beaded necklace....

I remember an interview where she said all of her rings (or jewelry?) were special and meant something to her...

I think in DR doc in one of the mixing scenes, she's wearing what looks like a lot of large opal or moonstone rings and bracelets. I thought they were interesting and didn't really look like any she wears on stage - I don't think.

There is a picture of that necklace somewhere in a tour book or a magazine article. The caption says it is Janis' necklace. It was one of those articles/books that included pictures of her house. It's not in the Enchanted tour book or the In Style articles that I checked on nicksfix. I can see it in my mind.... white wall, framed photo propped up on a mantle or an upright piano, candles/shawl (?) and the long beaded necklace draped in front of the photo. It's going to bug me because I can't find the picture. Unfortunately, I recently tossed all my magazines in an effort to clear out some clutter.

It's from Harper's Bazaar article titled "A Trip to Stevieland" (http://www.fleetwoodmac-uk.com/articles/FMart26.htm) November, 1997.

The beads are on a journal, next to the BN album. The photo credits are at the bottom of the page.
