Well I signed my divorce papers today. I don't know if we're looking at this as an end but hopefully as a new beginning, if he can think with the head thats attached to his shoulders and not between his legs. ****ing men.
Quite possibly the hardest thing I've ever done. When I left the lawyers office I told him,"I would say thank you, but under these circumstances I don't think I will."
So me and a bottle of Knob Creek are making out right now. :D I gotta get some love from somewhere.

Good for you and I'm sure it will get easier. I'm going through my divorce right now so I'll be doing the same as you in a few months.
And I couldn't believe myself last night... I was writing out Xmas cards and after I'd written around 20 i realised I'd been signing his name in them as well.. dumb or what!

Divorce is so hard, even if you KNOW there was no other way. You'll go through spells wondering why you did this. then you'll go through another one wondering why you didn't do it sooner. It was absolutely the hardest thing i've ever done as well. Every single time I went to the lawyer to discuss settlement, or whatever, I cried. I assured her "i'm sorry, i'm normally not like this and you're seeing me at my absolute worst" haha. You chose to spend the rest of your life with someone and now all of those plans are fukced up. But believe me, it'll get easier. and  the knob creek will help a little too :) best of luck :xoxo:

yeah. I did that too. and just random mail, I would accidentally write my old address. they're just habits that take some adjustments. sleeping alone wasn't hard because I had been doing that for 2 years  But other things will creep up. You find out who your friends are, who your enemies are. That was probably one of the hardest parts for me. I'm sure things are a bit different for you over there, but why in a few months? Our divorce was FINAL after a few months after I left

I was told the divorce would take 4-6 months. A letter just went out to him from my solicitor. Divorcing him on grounds of adultery but he has to sign a confession and if he refuses I have to divorce him on grounds of unreasonable behaviour.
Sleeping alone was no biggie for me as he had been working away so much and then I used to just have my son in with me and Mike would use his bed. My mood at the moment is that I should have done this years ago but I know what you mean about it constantly changing though.

Brit - I had no idea. :( I'm so sorry. Good luck to you, and don't worry about him - you need to do what's best for you & your son.
