We all know Stevie just signed on for 2 dates in SoCal on Feb 1 and 2.
Well, I just found out Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers are going to be the SuperBowl halftime performers on Feb 3rd in Arizona. Anyone wanna bet if a certain "someone" will join them?
This seems awfully familiar to the 2 random Florida dates last year before we found out she was performing in Miami for the SuperBowl....

It's a good theory. But because the shows are in California, I'd say she was gearing up for something in California. Any tv shows taping something in California in February? I know the superbowl is in Arizona, which is not that far away, but I don't think she'd do shows here on February 2 and then head out to Arizona for a big show the next day.
I think it's a good idea to think she may be rehearsing for something, but not that.

Well, this might be a shot in the dark kind of guess, but maybe she is planning a short tour and then Vegas again to drum up attention and support for the planned Sound Stage DVD? Hmmm is this the rumored live recording that everyone was talking about like a year ago? Makes you wonder how this all comes together in Stevie's mind of where she wants her career to go and what she might have up her sleeves.
I honestly hope though that Stevie has somehow managed to get in the studio and surprise us with another CD. I really want to hear that New Orleans song.

Where did this info come from? I checked TM, jana's website, and didn't see anything. Can you tell me where you found the info?
Thanks!

I have to tend to agree that there is something suspicious about all of this. After all, Mama has done this sort of thing before- the Florida dates at last February's Superbowl as well as the Chicago date in November to coincide with the Soundstage taping. Plus, Phoenix gives her the hometown advantage. That being said, I wouldn't be surprised if she just appears along with the Heartbreakers as a back-up vocalist, as opposed to doing a solo turn in the spotlight- much like she did on his 2006 tour. No doubt, they are going to kick the shizz out of "Don't Come Around Here No More," and Mama will be up there in a strobelit flurry of hair, chiffon and wildly gesticulating tambo.

It is titilating to think it
Personally, I do not see Tom sharing so watched a stage, but you never know. She is still very popular, esp. amongst the nationwide middle age spread that watches the SB.

I agree. I think the only reason she is doing the SoCal shows is because she (reportedly) lives here full-time now. She probably is using the Indio show as a warm up for the charity event at the Honda Center in Anaheim. Or maybe, she's getting ready to go back into the studio. It's time.
We will see, what we will see.

I was just reading an article where the producer of American Idol was explaining why he wouldn't let Britney on the show. Considering other stars who might appear made me think of Stevie. I don't know what Idol will be doing in February. I don't know when they have guest singers on, but thinking of the things that Stevie could be warming up for in February (Grammys are February 10) Idol crossed my mind.
I don't watch Idol, but the shows I do watch talk about it so much that I don't really need to. With the writers strike, it should have better ratings in 2008 than it did in 2007.
