What breed is your dog? A Jack Russell terrier? I want to make sure I am looking at the right photo before I vote or accidentally give the opposition votes...

Yes, she's a Jack Russell, she's standing on my shoulders. BTW, we're in the process of adopting another one from the pound. His name is Smiley Jones.

We have an adopted Jack Russell. He was abandoned at 4 months of age, so we went through the chewing everything stage.

Some folks from New Orleans were re-located in the Denver area after Katrina, and he was left in the apartment when they moved out. My daughter *rescued* him and I inherited him. He's about 2-something now and so much energy.

I voted for you and your dog...and God Bless you that you are adopting Smiley Jones. The local Humane Society told me that Jack Russells are the ones which are hard to relocate and most end up being put to sleep. So sad....so I applaud you on your opening up and finding room for one more!

That is such a sad story. How people can leave their pets behind is beyond me. God Bless your daughter for rescuing your Jack.

We adopted Shakes from the pound too about 3 years ago. We saw her and she was so pitiful, shivering and scared. There was a label on her cage and it said "TBD". Later we found out that it meant 'to be destroyed'.... She had been there for 10 days so we were just in time. She's gonna be 5 in March and she's amazing. Hopefully her and Smiley will get along. I saw his picture a few weeks ago and Peg immediately wanted him. I was more like:"Well, we can't rescue everybody" but somehow I couldn't get him out of my mind. So Thursday night I looked him up again and decided:"If he's still there, we'll take him". And there he was.... in all his cuteness. Peg called the shelter yesterday and they were closed. We're calling again today and see if we can visit him and start the adopting procedure.

I didn't know that Jacks were hard to place. I don't get it, they're so cute and they've got quite the personality.

Update: we didn't go to the shelter yesterday because of very bad weather (heavy rain and snow) so we went today. Too late.... we were told he was adopted today(!!!) by a very loving family. We were just 2 hours late. Needless to say we're pretty bummed out about it. I hope he'll have a happy life with the other family. He obviously wasn't meant to be with us. :(
