Ken Caillat: "Video compilations are tough business, again I would suggest you contact Warners' and tell them what you want."

What do you want to see included in a music video compilation for Fleetwood Mac?

the question is, why didn't mick and the record label come up with this idea years ago! Every band should do this, especially those that had the videos at the begining of MTV, like...for example...FLEETWOOD MAC!!!!
I want to see all of them. Even the ones that were not big video hits., and throw in a the solo projects as well.
There are so many of us that were raised on thos videos and are the MTV generation and would kill to see those again, since there really isn't a source anymore.

Unlike some other videos from the 70´s or 80´s, I can still watch these videos without thinking "How embarassing!". These videos are too good to be simply left in the vaults!

Guess who!

I also managed to get lots of FM's music videos from Devilwoman too....but if there were others released that I don't have, I wouldn't put up a struggle to add it to my collection!

The quality of some of my Fleetwood Mac and solo videos are appallingly bad but tracking down good originals is very hard and expensive.

This would be such a simple thing for Warner's to do, or Rhino if that's where they are.

I'd love to have a complilation of all Fleetwood Mac AND Stevie, Lindsey and Christine's solo videos. What a treat that would be. A great copy of Don't Look Down would be heaven.

I would love to see a compilation of every video ever released from FM/SN/ and LB on DVD. I think Warners could sell more copies than they ever dreamed.

Every video that a Mac member ever appeared in should be released, with the time available on a DVD, it could all cram on there and if it meant a higher price then so be it. Given there aren't label difficiulties, all Mac and solo vids should be included with alternate versions (like was the case with "Seven wonders", "Talk to me", "Edge of seventeen" and of course the civil war "Stand back" and the variations on it as well as any others I haven't listed) as well as the very rare clips such as of Bob Welch's "Ebony eyes" (yes, one does exist), Walter Egan's "The blonde in the blue T-bird" (which has Stevie's cameo as the title character) Heck, I'd even like Bob Seger's "Shakedown" which has Rick in there even though he doesn't play on the recording (I asked him about this and he confirmed). There aren't many of us out there that have clean VHS copies of many of these so this is paramount. Whatever they got, we want! I really think it would be cool if it played like a movie DVD release whereas if you just let it play, it shows all the videos with the chapter list available so you could watch them individually and the "Bonus materials"/"Special features" section could include outtakes such as Lindsey's first attempt at breaking the painted glass in the "Hold me" video as well as commentary and Ken could work his magic with the audio tracks as he did with the Rumours DVD audio in those sections.

If there is something i wanted to be released for sometime now it is a collection of fleetwoodmac video's. I only have a couple on vhs, and most of them in poor quality. I know i did tape Little Lies, but i forgot on wich tape it is, and with over 600 videotapes it's hard to find back believe me.
So PLEASE WARNER ???????

Nodmod, I used to live in the UK and I agree, it's very frustrating that discs are rarely released on region 2 (and on PAL on VHS), but before I left, I read in one of the DVD mags available at WH Smith's or wherever that multi region DVD players are getting more popular over there (as are NTSC compatable VHS players) and also, there are region 2 DVD players that have a "hack" where you can go into the menu through the backdoor and choose your region or leave it under the option of "open". You might want to either check into getting a new player or (preferrably) play around with your existing player to see if you can do it. Let me know how you get along with it. I'll keep my fingers (and toes) crossed for you.

I want a video compilation of all of the videos and all of the solo stuff! Both versions of Stevie's Stand Back, and any "making of" footage included, too!

I would shell out my hard-earned money for it!

GREAT IDEA!! GREAT IDEA!!!!

The sound on my copy of all their videos is atrocious!! Horrible!!! The picture is much better than the sound is, but even that leaves something to be desired!!!! And my collection is definitely not nearly complete!!!

THIS MUST BE DONE!!

Brian and Johnny Stew, I hope you'll pardon my cut and paste, but the both of you compiled great lists on the Rumours board of music video selections that a lot of us are interested in. I'd like to post them here as a point at which others can add ideas about content or format. Thank you both.

I see excellent points on both lists, but I am leaning towards Brian's list because it would be a shame to cut up the concert videos, and we may be able to get those in their entireity (sp?)later. If we take out parts, then they may never get released.
Just wanted to let you know my thoughts!

Thanks John for the answer below, I will be getting an NTSC compatable video in the near future, but it just sticks in my throat a little that Europe or more importently the UK always gets forgotten when it comes to Fleetwood Mac or realted releases / tours etc.

After much discussion about trying to secure the release of Fleetwood Mac material that is out of release or contained in Warner Brothers' vaults, Ken Caillat has directed our hopes toward a single test project first. This project is a DVD collection of approximately 10-12 Fleetwood Mac music videos and possibly some live performance footage. Please see Marty's "sticky" post at the top of this Q&A forum for more details. As that is the only release realistically in our grasp right now, we're closing this thread and invite you to please provide your input about what to include in the DVD collection. The success of this project may determine the possibility of getting some other kinds of Fleetwood Mac material released in the future. Thanks!
