do you ever go "wtf?" or "why?" - discuss.

I have plenty of wtf/why moments. I'm waiting for a good one to post here, but I usually save them for other places. :wavey:

I'll add one then let this thread die I guess. I was self tanning, as I usually do, and somehow completely skipped a portion of my neck. so, I'm all tan and bronze except for one, very obvious spot, on my neck. wtf?

OMG! LMFAO! That is a great wtf!

And Jazz, this thread is not stupid. I say wtf like 50 times a day. A lot of it occurs while I'm driving. I'm sure you'll experience it Thursday.

Ok, here's a good one. About a month ago, I was having a really BAD day. Someone totally lied about a conversation I had with them to one of the partners in our Indianapolis office. The partner proceeded to send me a ****tee email to which I responded and explained that the person was a total liar. At that point, I had had enough. I rarely cry, mind you, but at that moment, I shut my office door and had a nice little cry. One of my co-workers came in a few minutes later to talk to me and told me that my secretary had been standing outside my door listening. Then, while I was talking to my co-worker, another co-w saw her standing in the office next to mine with her ear pressed against the wall listening to us talk. Ok, WTF? If I wanted her to know what was going on, I would have said, "Hey Leslie, come in her for a sec, I want to talk to you."

I try to avoid MySpace ads as much as possible...I've learned to avert my eyes - but most of them make me go wtf.

Also - in line at self check out registers at grocery stores? That's become the bane of my existence. There is a system - one line, then wait until the next one opens. But inevitably there's one jackass who doesn't do that and cuts everyone off because he happened to be passing when one opened up - that makes me me WTF...really loudly.

I hate self check outs.

I'd rather work with men anyday. Far less drama.

My recent wtf's have been at work, as usual. I've been calling the no-shows to bitch at them & most coversations have been like this:

Me: "Hi. This is the clinic manager. Calling to find out why you never came in for your appointment this morning."

Stupid kid: "Oh. Um. I feel better now."

Good for you. Maybe you can have some courtesy & call to cancel next time. That way the really sick kid who needs an appointment can take your spot. W.T.F.

Here is another one for you, taken from my friend's Livejournal (http://johnnym77.livejournal.com/):

This has been going around for a few days on-line, but Obama has decided to court the black vote in South Carolina by staging a concert featuring a host of gospel singers, including one Donnie McClurkin. McClurkin is well known for his constant proselytizing against homosexuality, being a "cured homosexual" himself. Among other things, McClurkin claims that gays are "cursed", in need of "curing", have a "lack of character" akin to pathological liars, and that homosexuality is usually caused by "neglect, abuse, and molestation." He has also declared "war" against gays because "[He's] not in the mood to play with those who are trying to kill our children."

Meanwhile I get an email asking to join Sen. Obama in condemning the words of John Tanner (US voting rights official) and demanding that he be removed from his position. Why? Because Mr. Tanner made remarks stating that minorities die before white people and so on. While I think that John Tanner's remarks are completely ridiculous and racially biased...why do the gay haters get by with saying such hateful things? All or nothing, you know?

Ugh...wtf?

Mourners pay tribute to Lucky Dube

# Tears of rage for Lucky

Artists, fans and family gathered at the Bassline in Newtown, Johannesburg, today to pay their respects to slain reggae legend Lucky Dube.

The venue, adorned with Dube’s posters and flowers, is a popular spot for artists to perform and launch new albums.

Singer Sipho Mabuse said Dube, who was killed in a botched hijacking in Rosettenville on Thursday, was a hero in South Africa and the rest of the world.

Gallo music group’s Ivor Haarburger passed his condolences to the family.

Haarburger described Dube, who has recorded 22 albums, as a "reserved, amazing performer".

The Mahotela Queens Hilda Tloubatla said: "We have lost a lot."

SABC Group CEO Dali Mpofu said Dube was a great communicator, even in death.

Cosatu general secretary Zwelinzima Vavi said the working class and the poor were the main victims of crime in South Africa.

The death of Dube should be a wake-up call for South Africans to unite against crime.

"This atrocity highlights the grim reality of the daily carnage on our streets, the main victims of which are working people and the poor," he told mourners.

Vavi quoted from one of Dube’s popular songs, saying the words underlined that everone could be affected by crime.

The lyrics read in part: "Do you ever worry about leaving home and coming back in a coffin, with a bullet through your head?"

Letters of condolences from Presidents of Gambia and Senegal were read to the crowd that also included members of the bare-footed Shembe congregation of which Dube was a member.

I'm just Why?? / WTF-ing over Lucky Dube getting killed. People are so rotten.

One love?

I think not. It's too far above the heads of too many idiots.

No die!! I'm curious, why can't you just put some on your neck, now? My friend uses some stuff like that. Works pretty well. I'm nice, and tell her when she has leg streaks to rub in.

Also, don't worry, I think I started a similar thread a few months back. Course, perhaps you are trying to retain some dignity...snob!!! :p I, too, was disappointed when the Ledge world changed into one where you could not delete your own threads. WT(L)WCT?

Uh oh. That girl was me!! Yeaheaheaheah! Now I feel more guilty. No one ever calls to see why I missed anything, though. I've actually called to reschedule things, lately, however - at least for my cat's appointments with the vet. I overslept a Dr. appt., but it was only a 15 minute appt. And, I'm planning to keep abreast of my dentist appts. in the near future, and call accordingly if I can't make it. Or if my raging toothache that I have right now goes away.
Now, thanks to you, Paula, I see that I am actually a very bad, inconsiderate person. :distress: Well, you and about 50 other people.

Also, WTF? Why do I now get really bad toothaches only before concerts? I had one in July the day before Stevie, and I went to no concerts in between then and now, and had no toothaches.
Now, I'm going to Bruce tomorrow, and lo, raging tooth inferno. Only this time, there won't be any emergency vicoden prescription. Weak. :(

Hopefully I can drink and dance my way through the pain. I'm pretty sure of it, in fact. I deserve a fricking medal of valor, I tell you what...
