Is everyone ready for the DTV Transition on Feb 17 2009 yet

Hi All maybe by the time the next FM tour comes around. AS of Feb 17-2009 your analog tv or vcr will come useless for over the air reception unless you will have to get a dtv convertor box to view on older tv's and vcr's Go to www.dtv.gov for more info on this.

Well I work for the Geek Squad (Best Buy) and they are getting rid of all tube TVs here shortly. The TVs wont be USELESS (you can still hook DVD players up to them and such)---I have a 27" Sony Trinitron tube TV and a 26" LCD.

If ALL cable/satellite goes Hi Def...then I suppose the TV would be useless. But they've been saying that for years...and it hasnt happened yet. I did hear that by the end of this year DirecTV will have over 100 hi def channels. Then again most of them arent TRUE hi def because the programs arent filmed in hi definition. It starts at a base level of poor quality.
