Okay, so the Emmylou board is too weird for me, and I know there are a few fans over here who might want to discuss...
Disk 3 is my favorite so far, though I haven't gotten to 4 yet. Maybe I'm biased about the superior quality of Disk 3's, courtesy of Enchanted? I'm loving "Falling in a Deep Hole," "I Remember You," live "The Pearl," and "Snake Song." God, "Snake Song" is so creepy gorgeous. And Pretender's "She" is pretty cool.
The whole set is beautiful. The song-by-song commentary is great, and there are some really lovely photos. Most of this material is new to me, as I am mostly a fan of the Wrecking Ball and after stuff. I'm carrying the whole set with me from car to house to work so I can listen whenever I can.
On a different note, did anyone see the Tonight Show performance on Monday?
Edit: Oh, and use this thread for any random Emmylou-related topics as they occur to you. :)

On a sidenote, I saw that Emmylou was going to be performing on a 6-day cruise from Miami to Mexico, Grand Cayman and Jamaica in February - a long with Patty Griffin, Shawn Colvin, and Lyle Lovett (other favorites of mine). I am seriously considering going. Info : www.cayamo.com

Yep, I'd say you are. :D You HAVE to get this. It's so beautiful. The book is hardcover and like 200 pages. I'm just overwhelmed with all the new Emmylou fabulousness.
As for the Tonight Show, she did "Get Up John," which she has been doing live on the tour with Carolina Star. They backed her, but John Starling, the leader, was not there. It was an odd choice of song if she's trying to get people to buy the box set, but I like it. It's bluegrass and uptempo, so it's fun.
Now, I have to point something out that I know I could never ever say over on the Emmylou board, but her face looks very tight and eyes very wide, in a too much kind of way. I just saw her in August at the Newport Folk Festival and she looked normal, but she had her sunglasses on, so I couldn't say if this results from a new procedure or not.
This illustrates my point (Perhaps it is just the fake lashes, but I don't think so):

Not that it matters, and blah blah. I know it's even controversial to talk about Stevie's appearance over here, depending on the general mood. But, I just couldn't not notice.

I'd go too, if I wouldn't feel horribly guilty about leaving my kids for that long. And, for taking that serious a vacation without my husband, (leaving him home to take care of said kids all by himself.) I don't think he'd be very happy with me.
But yeah, if you can go, it seems almost like too good an opportunity to pass up.
Wow, I hope you can go. Have fun and please share all your pics of Emmylou and Patty teaming up on the shuffle board court against Lyle and Shawn. Do they even do that on cruises anymore? I am basing my idea of what one does on a cruise on The Love Boat.

Just wanted to add a bit of Emmylou randomness...
It's so much cheaper to be an Emmylou fan than a Stevie fan. I just got a Emmylou benefit ticket for $100 that includes seats in the first two rows, a VIP reception, and a meet and greet. I don't want to even think about how much I spent for the same privelege with Stevie. AHI and Ms. Nicks, take note!
Has anyone bought the box set yet?
