Yes Betsy It's true. Stevie is taping Soundstage that day (with friends) and I just found out that Citibank AAdvantage cards was gave out 25 complimentary tickets to the taping to cardholders. Wah! Couldn't have gone anyway but would have liked to have at least been notified as I have a Citibank AAdvantage card and signed up with them for email notification of events and everything else. No e-mail or anything on this one. I just happened to log on to see what was up with Private Pass ticketing. What a shock!

Here is the Citibank link in case anyone is interested and they happen to release more tickets.

I don't really know actually. It's possible... I'm not sure if all soundstage performances end up on dvd... I know they are initially taped to be shown on PBS.

Did you read the ebay ad? Sounds as if the seller copped two of those Citibank complimentary tickets. I'd be very careful. Complimentary means free. The studio may want the "male and female" from the guest list to actually show up with the Citibank AAdvantage card in hand along with picture I.D. I see someone bid already so maybe I'm wrong.

I just remember that when tickets for the Orchestra Pit went on sale for Jack's 2nd show here in L.A. in early August someone from Colorado tried to sell two Pit tickets on Ebay for $2,000 before they even went on sale to anyone. He pulled the ad within two days though because only CA residents could buy those Pit tickets. I think that sale was an "anticpatory" sale and he found out after the fact that non-residents couldn't get them. It was going to be will call only but they changed their minds and ended up mailing them.

Be curious to see what Nicksfix says about it. Let's do some research folks.

As long as it's not going to be Don Henley on Leather and Lace. :distress: Then again, I don't want Lindsey Buckingham on Landslide either.

An acoustic Gypsy would be nice.

Have you ever heard the acoustic version of Gypsy from the 2000 AHI show?I never got into that one. To my ears, it sounded like four guitarists strumming along to the chord changes & a lackluster vocal -- kind of dull. When I hear Gypsy, I like to hear the pentatonic motive. Otherwise, I cry.

I don't know much about Soundstage, so excuse my ignorance, but I was wondering, do tickets for these sorts of things go on sale through ticketmaster? And about how many people can attend?

Chicago is about four hours away from me. I'd definitely be interested in going.

I tried my best. But it can only sound so good when you're in the last row in the rafters, holding an MD recorder in one hand and a video camera in the other. I was so sick that night, part of why it sucks.

I really enjoyed the acoustic performance of Gypsy because it was totally unexpected, and the fact they chose to perform it acoustically blew me away. Stevie told the audience that it was Lindsey's idea to perform the song, so you know she would have never done anything like that on her own. So he's still good for something.

Hopefully, Stevie's DVD will be released much sooner than Lindsey, given that Stevie's music is a little higher in demand than Lindsey's. It took 6 months for Fleetwood Mac to release their Soundstage performance on DVD. So there's hope for Stevie.

Yes and there were some precious moments that didn't make the DVD.

Betsy

I don't know if this is true...but I read about the recording of Lindsey's Soundstage. They (producers?) had him sing each song twice so that they could spice and dice...or whatever.

Anyhow, listening to each song twice was interesting, but it was hard to react (as an audience) to the second take. The guy did a review on ? Amazon ? or someplace. He said that Stevie and Lindsey weren't ... comfortable and joking. It was a little strained. He thought they could have used more of Stevie singing duet on his Soundstage.

Either way, it's a great way to promote the music and reach a different/broader audience.

The reviewer also said that it is good to be on tour and then follow a year or so later with extra material to stay in the audience's minds...so maybe that is the reason for the delay from taping to the DVD or airing it on PBS.

Either way, I am glad that the Ebay auction wasn't a phony and there is gonna be a Soundstage to look forward to.

I was just trying to say that unless you were either there, or have a high quality recording, you can't really judge properly.

It is a good thing that Stevie has been losing weight and looks great. (we all know cameras put about 10-15 lbs on a person), so she is gonna look and sound great I am sure.

hmm, well, if this comes out in 2008, yet another reason to tour, but hopefully she will throw some gems in there.

It would be great if Lindsey was a surprise guest on her Soundstage like she was on his and finally do Frozen Love or something.

EQueen,

As for tickets-you got me. I found nothing on Sounstage's web-page nor Nicksfix, etc. I seem to remember that when Lindsey recorded his Soundstage session, some tickets were made available to the public/fans but I can't remember how they were distributed. Can't believe it was that long ago. I'd call the theater and see what is up. If you have a Citibank AAdvantage card you might try the RSVP number listed on Private Pass page for the tickets that they comped: RSVP: 1-800-897-1761, Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 6:00pm EST. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!

And, as for the friends-maybe Vanessa Carlton since Stevie did a cameo at her show here in L.A. last summer. But I'm thinking more along the lines of Chris Isaak and probably Petty and Lindsey will show but know for sure that Henley can't because the Eagles are playing the Nokia Theater here in L.A. the entire week of starting Oct. 18th. So no Henley Leather and Lace.

Maybe Sheryl Crow too but that's a big maybe as she also is playing here in L.A. two days later on Oct. 27th. I had hoped that Stevie would show for Sheryl's L.A. concert as the concert is an all "Girlfrenzy" show with tons of female artists and bands. It's an all day thing starting at 2:30 p.m. If Sheryl does Soundstage, then maybe Stevie will return the favor and do a number or two at Girlfrenzy. Here's to speculation!

I agree with the list above. But in an absolute perfect world, the absolute show stopper would be one of her very, very best buds -- Christine. Wouldn't that be a kick!!! The place would fall over if Christine walked out on stage. She could be be last "friend" to perform. Yeah, I know that won't happen. But hey, who thought that Lindsey would announce during her Arizona Heart Benefit concert in 2001 that the Mac was going to record a new album. So, we can all dream anyway. But just for fun everybody, what song could Stevie and Christine do together that would be really special?

I have Leather and Lace from Irvine 82 where Henley joins Stevie with the Mac for that song. But did not know of a show that included Joe Walsh performing. What songs(s) did the Mac do with Walsh. But hey, glass half empty/glass half full. It depends on what your expectations are. I wanted to go to her show, and see/hear something live id neverseen/heard before in person. HSTML,& IAF not done at anny of the concerts id ever seen stevie (street angeltour, dance, enchanted,TISL,about 3 AHI heart benefits,Sayyouwill, golddusttour, so those really were a treat for me, Along with the ending of rhiannon higer than its been in years, but hey.
It sounds like you were dissapointed with your show. thats when your posts semmed to change. I whish you could have been at mine here with me in Phoenix and seen that.
but i am glad that new and semi-new things are going on in the stevie verse. Hopefully soon, someday somehing will tocuh, inspire, or "impress" you. Keep the fath my friend:xoxo:

All she had to do was add in one song that hadn't been done since 05' and my mouth would be shut. My show was great, she moved a lot and sounded great, but it was the SAME show.

.....to poke holes in your pessimism,... From the nicksfix:

(The set list varied slightly, especially in Phoenix when Don Henley was present.}
Gold dust tour:
o Outside the Rain
o Dreams
o Enchanted
o Stop Draggin My Heart Around
o Rhiannon
o Sorcerer
o Gold Dust Woman
o Stand Back
o I Need to Know
o Has Anyone Ever Written Anything For You
o Circle Dance (Bonnie Raitt Cover)
o Fall From Grace
o Drum Solo
o Edge of Seventeen
o Rock And Roll (Led Zeppelin Cover)
o Beauty and the Beast

Crystal Vissions Tour:
How still my love.
theres your one.

Plus, Me, once agan, bieng in PHOENIX, didnt get "the regular" show. which actually, kinda buggs me alot sometimes. I didnt get to hear "If anyone falls",
(which wasnt listed in the setlist, but i know it got played) Instead, i heard "Leather and Lace" "so ya wanna be a rock and roll star" blah, blah, blah, ect. All I wanted to hear was "If anyone falls"!! (no, not on a bootleg, not on someones cellphone video, ect. me, there, live and in person hearing it for myself.) Its just like trying to explain what it was like bieng there listening to the accustic Gypsy, and comparing that with someone else hearing a fan recording later. But then again, if it had happened before then, and i had seen all the videos of it, and heard all the boots, then by the time it happened and i saw it live, i may have been dissapointed, cause it would have not been a surprize, and i would have ruined it for myself. Like i said earlier, i think they make better souviners than pre-concert warm ups.

Look, I have been watching this show on DVD since May of 05. Its the same. Im glad you had a great time. I didn't. I love If anyone falls too, I loved it. That and Stand Back were the only highlights for me, other than shaking her hand on Edge.
