Anyone watch this yet? Has he helped you reach your style zenith?

So far, I'm unimpressed. I mean, there's good advice there regarding basic pieces every woman should have in her wardrobe to build from, but the show is boring. Tim is way too serious. Veronica Webb has the personality of a wet towel. They tell people not to dress "costumey" yet most outfits she puts on herself look like a costume & they're not very flattering on her either.
I will say that the clothes they're helping people find are fab & flattering.

Stacy & Clinton are much more fun, even if I don't always agree with them.

Oh, I forgot to mention that they don't focus enough on accessories - jewelry, shoes, bags...it's just skimmed over & assumed that people know how to put everything together.

They don't focus on accessories much. She did have a nice pair of shoes with that Carmen Marc Valvo dress and I was wondering where those came from. I liked the bag they gave her and the necklace was nice too.

i didn't catch it ... honestly, as much as i love tim gunn, i really don't have much interest in watching another makeover show. couldn't they come up with a better concept for him? stacy and clinton really own the makeover show for me.

I just missed Tim, so I am enjoying it. Veronica? ugh.

I'm not into this show at all. As much as I love Tim, he can't carry a show. Especially not a show with a tired ass format such as this.

word. i finally caught about 25 minutes of an episode the other night and it made me cringe. TG comes off as a prissy queen rather than the avuncular homo i came to know and love. someone put it out of its misery.

OMG the second show was even worse! That poor woman! Thank God she looked so fab at the end, because I think they made her feel terrible about herself at first. I don't think I'd freak out if they wanted to look in my underwear drawer like she did, but it was obvious she was uncomfortable.

T&V are too serious about it, they're almost mean. S&C are catty but fun. This is different. Even when the clothes are "right" they stare at the people for a really long time with disgusted looks on their faces.

I haven't seen this show, but I wouldn't be surprised if the Animal Planet starts running a puppy/doggy makeover show pretty soon.

that's the episode i caught part of ... she was hypersensitive, but they were way too cavalier about the underwear thing. they should have discussed it before the cameras were rolling.

Well, it would be about damn time. Everyone knows dogs aren't good dressers, especially those tacky Collies! And that HAIR! Don't get me started. :(

Have you seen Tim Gunn in the new Martha Stewart commercial for her line at Macys (I think)? "I love hats"

Found it on YouTube

"It makes a fabulous sash!" I love how they throw Alexis in there like we're supposed to know who she is - must be why they made it a point to make her call Martha mom.

I agree that this show is wayyyy too serious. Veronica Webb looks and acts like a man..... Tim Gunn is better as a Supporting Actor than the main character. His monotone voice makes me wanna put my head in the oven and turn it on.

Alexis was actually less of a mannequin in the commercial than she was on Martha Stewart's apprentice show. So much so that I didn't realize it was her at first.
