Wonderful Tonight: George Harrison, Eric Clapton, and Me
by Pattie Boyd

So much myth surrounds the 1970s love triangle between George Harrison; his wife, Pattie Boyd; and Eric Clapton. After all, Clapton's pining for Boyd inspired him to write the legendary rock song "Layla." Here, Pattie Boyd breaks her 40-year silence on the subject and opens up about going from being an extra in The Beatles's A Hard Day's Night film to the object of affection of two of rock music's most renowned musicians.

The Heroin Diaires: A Year in the Life of a Shattered Rock Star
by Nikki Sixx

Available: September 18

As 1980s hard rock hair bands go, none were much bigger than Mötley Crüe. And at the height of their popularity and fame, bassist Nikki Sixx could not have been deeper in the world of hard drugs and hard living. His era of excess is captured in The Heroin Diaries that he kept at the time, documenting every bizarre day that further propelled him into a drug-hazed spiral downward. Now sober, Sixx reveals it all with honesty and resolve.

For whatever reason, this one intrigues me. I have found Nikki Sixx to be well spoken and interesting in interviews. Plus he knows Tommy Lee who everyone knows is one of my great loves.

Oh me too, I will probably buy this one, we'll see. The excerpt is really interesting, I always want to know what makes people tick and he reveals it all. I liked some of MC's songs but they were way too pervy for my liking. Of course bands like Bon Jovi were too they just kept it more on the DL.

Yes.. the Heroin Diaries sounds interesting. It's like Kurt Cobain's journal... an interesting read, because it was written as it happened, not in retrospect. It's probably a bit more honest that way.

And sorry, but I have to repost the picture of Nikki Sixx cat.

I can't wait to read Pattie Boyd's book. I'm not sure how much more Nikki Sixx can tell us. Isn't this like his third book?

I don't know, I haven't read any book by him and actually don't know much about him. I always found the Layla story intriguing, how rock and roll is that?

Patty Boyd is a slut and I won't be reading her book.

Actually, I'm not sure if she is or not, I just felt like saying that.

Clapton, Fiddy, and Lance Bass all have books coming out as well. Not to mention books about Jim Morrison, Tom Petty, Pink Floyd, and a great Rolling Stone (the magazine) gift book wich includes a dvd with EVERY SINGLE ISSUE OF ROLLING STONE.
It's a great year for music books.

At least Nikki has a great audio companion compact disc to go with his book, the album by his solo outfit "Sixx A.M." - "The Heroin Diaires"

How could you not fall in love with a man who wrote that song for you? What I find most intriguing about the forthcoming book (I read a few excerpts) is that she sort of describes her relationship with Eric now as cold and that really, she never stopped loving George and they had a very good relationship until the end.
