Holy F, yes! :eek::eek:

Thanks for posting! This will be my new sig pic tonight, nobody steal it! ;)

I'm off to buy a copy of the telegraph... I'm assuming it's in the magazine you can buy

I found this interesting:

And who has been the greatest love of her life?

'My great, great love was Joe Walsh.'

Joe Walsh? Of the Eagles? I struggle to keep the note of surprise out of my voice.

'It's crazy, isn't it?'

I am no expert on Nicks's romantic adventures, but I've done my research. Her affairs with Buckingham, Fleetwood, Don Henley, the record executive Jimmy Iovine - all are well chronicled. But nowhere have I found a single reference to Joe Walsh.

'1983 to 1986,' Nicks says crisply. 'I don't know - why do you love somebody? Why do you love them so much that when they walk in the room your heart jumps out of your chest? I don't know. But I fell in love with Joe at first sight from across the room, in the bar at the Mansions Hotel in Dallas. I looked at him and I walked across the room and I sat on the bar stool next to him, and two seconds later I crawled into his lap, and that was it.

'We were probably the perfect, complete, crazy pair. He was the one that I would have married, and that I would probably have changed my life around for…' She pauses. 'A little bit. Not a lot. But he wouldn't have changed his life either.'

The reason they broke up, she says, is that they were both 'really seriously drug addicts. We were a couple on the way to hell.'

The relationship finally ended when Walsh got on a plane and went to Australia 'to get away from me, basically. He thought - or so I'm told by my friends that Joe told - that one of us was going to die, and the other person would not be able to save them. And I did think I was going to die, absolutely. It took me a long, long time to get over it - if I ever got over it. Because there was no other man in the world for me. And it's the same today, even though Joe is married and has two sons. He met somebody in rehab and got married. And I think he's happy.'

Oddly enough, Nicks once said very much the same thing about Lindsey Buckingham, telling one journalist that Buckingham was 'my first love and my love for all time. But we can't ever be together. He has a lovely wife, Kristen, who I really like… I look at him now and just go, "Oh, Stevie, you made a mistake." '

Nicks shoots me a look when I mention this. 'Well, he was my great musical love, and that's very different. Lindsey and I both loved each other not just because we loved Lindsey and Stevie, but because we loved what Lindsey and Stevie did. And that is definitely what kept Lindsey and me together for as long as we did stay together. It's not that he's not a great love - he is a great love. And I write songs about him to this day. I don't know why. But whenever we're together we fight - to this day.'

All I can say is that if the reporter found no mention of Stevie and Joe Walsh then they didn't look hard enough!

I don't know why. But whenever we're together we fight - to this day.'

All I can say is that if the reporter found no mention of Stevie and Joe Walsh then they didn't look hard enough!Yeah, and Stevie's off again with her "83 to 86", because they broke up during the recording of RAL.

I don't know, it's the same old stuff again... she says the same things about different guys all the time. She said about Rupert Hine that whenever he walked into the room, the room seemed on fire, and that she fell in love with him the first time she saw him. She's said about that Lindsey also. In this interview she says Joe Walsh would have been the only guy that she could have married, but then she implied that regarding Paul Fishkin also. Joe Walsh was her great, great love, but then so was Mick Fleetwood. And as the interviewer pointed out, so was Lindsey Buckingham. I loved that it was said she shot him a look when he said that, because to me it seemed like she didn't want to be confronted with that. I bet she hates it when people drag up stuff she's said in the past, especially considering how inconsistent she is.

Some other funny parts...

- Tammy Wynette and Stevie Nicks together in rehab. Oy.

- She turned Glen Parrish into a guinea pig.

- Here's the irony, she says: the 'powers that be' had sent her to the psychiatrist in order to keep her working, but the 'treatment' he gave her made work almost impossible. 'It's very Shakespearean. It's very much a tragedy.'

Oh, the drama!

- a copy of The Johns Hopkins Consumer Guide to Drugs sits beside Luxury Hotels of the World.

Exactly what I have in my closet also!

- Nicks is delightful company; but you wouldn't want to cross her.

No kidding.

- Nicks and Buckingham were more careful, retaining an independent business management firm to handle their affairs when they joined Fleetwood Mac. 'So even though we spent a lot of money, a lot of it was invested.'

What was it invested in?

'I have no idea.'

Riiiiiiiight.

I'll have to go out after work and see if I can find a copy of this around here somewhere. Did this come out today? Because usually it takes a bit longer for UK mags to get here.

I was thinking about the "greatest love" thing earlier and I think that I too have changed my opinions about my relationships when I look back. If you had asked me five years ago who my "greatest love" was, I definitely would have given you a different answer than one I would give today. And there's no telling what I'll say when I'm 60. It's her past- she's entitled to remember it any way she likes.

I thought it was an interesting article- I loved how the interviewer tried to get a bit more in depth than other interviews I've read.

Also, prescription meds, particularly benzos, are HEINOUS to detox and come clean from. I'll bet she does look back at that era in her life as "tragic".

Precisely for that reason... I forgot too that it hadn't come out there. She really should head over for some face to face promo, or a few shows.. It wouldn't kill her... It's an important market and large market.

Okay, me thinks Stevie is going into "Rock and Roll" roll up her billowy sleeves kind of creative mode here by moving into a rock and roll penthouse. I think she really believes that Christine will not come back for a tour and hence she won't tour either without Christine, so I am getting a strong vibe, she really wants to make up for the 8 years she lost on Klonopin and show the world she can still be creative and produce new stuff.

But hint, hint.. Stevie, switch up your concert set list okay?
If you are going solo again in 2008 or 2009, we want new songs in the set list with hopefully something new to tour with.

Hell, if FM is not going to make a new album or tour, might as well do something creative with your time. And she does not seem like the kind of woman to just sit on the beach drinking martinis or whatever for a long period of time before she gets the urge again to write and record or tour.

Very exciting news regarding the Rhiannon project. Hopefully that will come to fruition.

hmm, would not have wanted to be that reporter when he asked about Lindsey and her "great love" and she shot that look at him.

Hey, anyone else notice that the fabulous photo is by Neal Preston? Damn, we need a coffee table book of his photographs of Stevie too.

I just love it when Stevie talks about her demos and unreleased songs in interviews....

She pulls a face and laughs. 'I wrote a song once called The Prettiest Girl in the World, and that was a long time ago. But when you've been the prettiest girl in the world - and I don't mean the most beautiful girl; I just mean a really pretty girl, a really talented girl, a girl who writes really good songs.

The songs must be floating around in her head still. I wonder what this one would sound like if she were to sing it today.

She was just like you....

Awesome, Pip and Sharon! Thank you. :xoxo: Goddess had that pic in her sig a couple days ago, and I went *thud* and asked her where it was from. Just gorgeous, all those sumptuous winter colors are my fave. I, too, am a fan of lighting.

"I don't know if Stevie Nicks's passport describes her as 'rock'n'roll star', but it is the term she uses to describe herself, completely unselfconsciously, as if rock'n'roll star were a vocation, or a destiny embodied in the genes."

 I always thought it was funny that she completely unselfconsciously called herself that, too.

"'And believe me, talk about feeling old.' Nicks laughs. 'I go in and some of these kids don't even know who I am. So of course I tell them.'"

Terrific interview.
At that point if I could find a Percoset, because I'm so miserable, I'd take that, or I'd take a Fiorocet - anything.
These two pills are for pain relief. Fioricet is for complex tension headaches. To take pain medication when you don't have some kind of chronic pain affliction; yes, I'd say her addiction was out of control by then. I wonder if these other drugs were from that same psychiatrist, or if she got some from friends or what.
Nicks admitted herself to the Daniel Freeman Memorial Hospital in Venice Beach.
I had always wondered where she went the second time. But I researched a little, and I think where she went was the Daniel Freeman Marina Hospital which is in Marina Del Ray. The Daniel Freeman Memorial Hospital isn't even in Venice Beach; it is in Inglewood. All locations near each other.

Here is a picture from the website:
http://img389.imageshack.us/img389/8691/marinanewhd6.jpg

The facility was built in 1969 as Marina Mercy Hospital. Then in 1980, it changed to the Daniel Freeman Marina Hospital. Now it has a new name.

Three years ago Nicks and a couple of girlfriends spent three months in Hawaii brainstorming the Tetralogy with a view to translating it into a musical work. 'It could be a movie. It could be a record. It could be a couple of records. It could be a mini-series. It could be an animated cartoon.
Basically, Stevie went to Hawaii after Fleetwood Mac ended their tour in September 2004. For "brainstorming" purposes. And apparently the "brainstorming" hasn't even resulted in a conclusion on the format of the work. That is some damn ineffective brainstorming.

I'm with everybody else. I LOVE THIS PICTURE!!! She's got to find a way to use it somewhere else. It's just so cool!!!! It is her and she looks like 25 years younger in this one.

Loved the article too. But have to admit as her good buddy Tom Petty says, she does not live in the real world. Take the comment that she has no idea what her zip code or her phone number is!!!! I knew she had no driver's license since 1978, but she got me with the zip code and phone number comments. And of course, the comment about investing her money but has no idea in what. Gotta love it !!!!

And OMG, the story about Glenn Perish (is that the guys name). Could not believe he'd be so dumb to take a total of 6 tranquilizers and not think he might be risking his life. Come on people. We kiow her brain had been "turned off" for a quite a while. What was he thinking. I am so amazed that Stevie and the rest of the MAC survied all the drugs.

And oh yeah, the comment about seeing Joe Walsh and falling for him instantly. Gotta love her. Who else do you know that see's somebody and instanly 'jumps on their lap". That's our Stevie -- ("once in a million years a lady like her rises.) She got that right. She is unique and I just love her. Tom Petty described her as the little sister in your family that you love but that's different, you know the one you love but don't want to talk about. She certainly is that and why she's so special.

Regarding her great loves, she is friends with Mick and Don Henley. I wonder if she has any contact with Joe Walsh or Rupert Hine. Anybody know anthing?

Not yet, he's too busy hyping his own TV show. :p Plus, the dude probably gets like 1000 emails a day. I'm hoping he posts it, 'cause he does love Stevie.

I know someone here was talking about Joe being at one of the shows on the Crystal Visions tour. He's reportedly sober and was working on the making amends step at that time.
I doubt she has any contact with Rupert Hine just because of the way their relationship ended.

How did it end? All I know is "something happened and it had to end".

I heard he brought Cocaine to her at the end of recording the OSOTM album. So sad to find out that Rooms on Fire was about him.

Well now she never really said. I just remember her saying that it became impossible for them to see each other again. There were rumours that his wife was pregnant, that she walked in on him with another man but no one really seems to know for certain. This was all going on around the same time her assistant got busted for trying to smuggle coke into England in the form of a care package. It's not an era that we seem to know to much about in Stevie's life/career. I just know that she was tranquilized almost to the point of being a zombie at the show I saw on that tour.

I actually saw Joe at the Cuyahoga Falls, OH show on the Gold Dust Tour. They had him sit on the side of the stage and put up this fabric to block him off from the audience. She even dedicated Has Anyone Ever Written to him and mentioned him being there, but he didn't stay until the end of the show.

luv,
Shel

Wow, the part about her buying the house not because she fell in love with the house but because she wanted the family that lived in it...that was very sad. It took guts for her to admit that kind of loneliness in an interview. Great stuff.
