View Full Version : Adam Sandler on Letterman...if you could have dinner with any 3 celebreties..

Hey, all.... was watching some Adam Sandler on YouTube. Specifically, I started out with his Opera Man bit at the Concert for New York. If you haven't seen that or haven't seen it in a while, you should watch it.
Anyway, that took me to other Sandler YouTube stuff, and the one was he was sitting in on Letterman and practicing interviewing on Matzoball (his dog?). And he asked the dog if you could pick three celebreties to have dinner with, dead or alive, who would you pick? The dog got comfortable at that point and got a big laugh, but of course, there was no answer. But I had one. I immediately thought Bill Clinton, John Lennon and Paul McCartney. That question gets thrown around, who would you spend a day with, but here we get to pick three. If one of my pics couldn't make it, I'd pick Peter Townsend.
Who you pick? (who-who-who-who, I really wanna know...)
Peace and love,
Sharon
Gino Vannelli, James Scott (EJ Wells on Days of our Lives), and Stevie.
That would totally work, LOL.

Dinner with three? Cher, Joni Mitchell and Stevie.
I'd like a table in the back with the best looking waiter, please. ;)
An entire day with? Matt Dillon, in penthouse # 54 at the Chateau Marmont.
DO NOT DISTURB.

I've actually thought about this. Not only could we have dinner with our (other) girl, we could cruise the Carribean with her. http://www.cayamo.com/ I picture myself beside her on a deck chair by the pool...absolutely speechless too. And absolutely dumbstruck next to her in the buffet line, and maybe on the shuffleboard court... Maybe I'd run into her late night on the Ledo deck, after a few drinks. That's when I'd ask her to finally fess up about what really happened with Gram Parsons. I'm so inappropriate.
And so this post isn't 100% OT, Stevie, Emmylou, and Lucinda Williams.

LOLing at the visual I have. I'm also thinking you in the Chris Farley role from the SNL skit where he interviewed famous people.
Carrie: "Um....remem.....remember when....um....'member when you recorded....um...that one song....the song The Pearl?"
Emmylou: "yes"
Carrie: "Um...that was really awesome...."
As cliche & chiffonistic as it will sound, Stevie is one of my picks. The others? McConaughey-hey-hey, of course. And Owen Wilson, so I can find out what he's so depresed about. :D

Wait - what? Who was it? I can't believe no one asked. Oh, yes, I see what happened - things can be missed when you are busy quipping with your friends, goodness (and I) knows. And talking about gay fun. Anyhoodle....
So who was it? I hope they are famous, and I won't be all "who (the hell's) that?". :wavey::woohoo:
Oh, I guess I'd pick Stevie, Gavin Newsom (hush, he's way hot, plus, I have political suggestions (insert ominous music)) and...Parker Posey? Just cause I think Parker would be fun to hang. Maybe there would be a threesome b/t me and Parker and Gavin. That seems fun, but those things never work out the way you want them too. (JK, everyone who is uptight).

Step off, you know he's the hottest, funniest mayoh that's evah been. And when I looked closer at some of his ideas that others poo poo'd, well, let me just say that I'm glad that someone is stepping out of the political quagmire of debts and toady-ism and trying and thinking of some new things. Plus, sesly, have you heard him?!?! On Sarah and No Name? He is so.funny.
*Although I know you have some valid points about him for sure, and would look forward to investigating those further, and also even if I didn't, I would still know he has flaws, but would still like him very much b/c of aforementioned. Uh...he defied Cali law to let gay people get married. Not the be all and end all of everything, but definitely bold and forward thinking, not to mention example setting.
Seriously, he has lots of new thoughts. You don't get a plethora of new plans in the traditional political world. People just say the same ol' shizzlipservice*
ndx Bettie Page

This one is good, too. In fact, I enjoy everyone's list and suddenly feel inexplicably bitter that I only get three choices.
And I'd really like to meet with Sharon before she gets all caught up with Wregory. I'm not trying to be pushy, I just think she'll be too distracted after Wregory to possibly have any meaningful interaction with me. I might not even find out her favorite color, or whether she still loves Lindsey.:eek:
I know a lot of you here on the board have expressed your interest in the exact same questions. I'll do my best. *insert stoic yet productive emoticon. add small dash of hopelessness*.

Although I do think you would wind up regretting putting him on your list of 3 if you actually met him. He has some interesting policy ideas like you've mentioned, but none of them originated with him. They've either come from his political advisers or policy experts around the country/world. Which is fine, but I just think you think there's more to him than there really is. And he doesn't drink anymore, so what kind of dinner would that be???

My dream dinner w/ someone would be...
Christopher Walken.
Here's the thing. I'm not his #1 fan or anything. Can't even be sure I've seen all his films, I just adore him though. He's lead quite a colorful life, and I think his mix of zany, creepy & serious would be an intriguing conversation. Before I die I swear I will attain this. (I guess before he dies....:sorry:)
My 3 dream big choices:
David Lynch
Siouxsie Sioux &
Stevie Nicks
Choices I'd add or subtract, but it's SO hard to find a comfortable 3, you know, fluid conversationists. Not 3 that would turn into 2 against one, etc.:
Anwar Sadat
Gary Oldman (I'd just go w/ the overnight thing w/ him, and do not disturb sign as mentioned by someone earlier. LOVE IT!)
Anais Nin
Margaret Atwood
Dan Hicks

if you could pick three celebreties to have dinner with, dead or alive, who would you pick?
Sharon
If you say dead or alive, it's like a fantasy, and since it's my fantasy, I choose living people but taken from a year or era, for example...
1. Elizabeth Taylor but from the 50s.
2. Stevie Nicks from the Rumours era
3. Marlon Brando the year he filmed in Streetcar named Desire.
am I too retro??
