I was watching the local news with closed captioning (sound was off) at the gym last night, and they mentioned that Bruce would be appearing locally at "the metal lens." Think about that one for a second.

Hey when you say Meadowlands, if you're from Jersey or the city, it does sound like metal lens
I think I should go to his hometown shows but I want to go to the Garden. You going NY'er?
I love this single. He sounds great!

I saw him a few times throughout the early-mid 80's, when he was still the buff, balls-out young marathon rocker. Those were some great shows! I'm not sure if I would be so thrilled about seeing middle-aged Bruce, especially since I haven't really been following his music for the past twenty years. Still, I wonder if Little Steven is back in the E Street Band, now that his Sopranos commitments are done. And I wonder if Patti will be there; I heard she and Bruce were separating or something like that.

Steven will be there and Patti will be there too. That thing going around that Bruce and she split was garbage.

I like the new song too.
I saw The Boss in LA on the Born in the USA tour. Yeah, he's one of those artists that if I saw them in their prime, I don't really wanna see them again. And I never really got into his mellower stuff. But if he makes a stop in Texas, I might reconsider. I mean, it's the f*ckin' E Street Band.

You guys are absolutely crazy. Bruce is still one of the best live acts in the world, and this is coming from someone who hates big arena shows. He's certainly better than any of the Macsters these days, and he changes his set all the time.
I'm gutted because tickets for his London show sold out in minutes. I didn't have a chance in hell :(

I'm gutted because tickets for his London show sold out in minutes. I didn't have a chance in hell :(I'm kind of miffed also, because tickets went on sale without any kind of announcement, and I can now only get broker tickets for €150 each. I didn't get a heads up from ticketmaster at all. Big acts always sell out within 10 minutes here, it's so annoying. That's the same reason I didn't get U2 tickets last time. Or The Police. I refuse to stand in line 6 hours before the presale starts.
For some reason I could only find the Italian version of Bruce's new single. It was driving me quite insane. I finally managed to get my hands on the regular version last night.
*edit: Okay, I am so confused. It says the presale doesn't start until Sept 8th, but brokers already have tickets, and there are tickets up on Ebay as well. Still didn't get a heads up from TM though, had to look it up myself. Anyway, I will try to get tickets next week. Otherwise there is always still Belgium or Germany. They also left room for a possible extra date if it sells well.

Sounds like you might be in with a chance then. I'm seriously pissed about it. Ticketmaster had some kind of f*ck-up and all the standing tickets went on sale at 10am, an hour after they were supposed to. I may have been able to get a ticket :( I'm hoping there is another date or some tickets drop nearer the date.
I seriously, seriously hate the chancers who buy six tickets and then put them on ebay for triple the price. :distress:

I think he'll add another date or two. The 02 is the last date on his tour so after that he's got space.
This song rocks. I wasn't crazy over the Seeger Sessions. He suffered really bad sales last year, but not in Europe.

I think you’re right John – there will be more dates. This seems like the approach they took to ‘The Rising’ tour where he quickly went around the world before Christmas and then had a major stadium tour after it. The E-Street Band is too lucrative to Sony and the group themselves to just do 30 dates. I’m an O2 customer, so like others who are we got to buy our London tickets the day before the general sale and at £57 a time it was cheaper than the Seeger shows.
I think the tour will be great and I can’t wait, but I do tend to like my Springsteen solo and acoustic these days. As Sharon started a link on Dylan a week or two back, another favourite of mine, I thought I’d post something that combines them both. So here is Highway 61 done by Bruce and two people he invited from the audience – Jackson Browne (verse 1) and Bonnie Raitt (verse 3). They make a decent job of it.

And then four tracks I picked from the same show that I really enjoy in their stripped down form – Reason to Believe, Red Headed Woman, My Father’s House & Tenth Avenue Freeze-Out.

Actually he did it I think at the Meadowlands in 2000? Anybody go?

Just got the info on why Los Angeles is still venue TBA. Apparently, the Forum is a IATSE union stagehand house, and they've been on strike for a while. While Bruce would strongly prefer the Forum (he hates Staples- he opened the venue with the first shows there on the original E Street '99 reunion tour, and by the end of the run of shows, he was openly and blatantly trashing it in monologues on stage), its still, for now, TBA.
He'll probably end up playing Staples, as Anaheim is booked that day and the new Nokia venue is too small. I don't think Landau wants to have to deal with spin control regarding a scenario where the champion for the blue collar people is crossing the picket line for a million dollar rock show.

I'm still gutted. I didn't know about the 02 presale until it was too late.
People on the Backstreet boards keep finding tickets, but I've been trying for over a day now and no luck :(
It really sucks because I live really near the O2 arena too. I can't believe Bruce will be playing there and I won't be going.

Vanessa, you're not going to believe it but literally minutes ago I managed to get tickets for the London show.
I just logged on ticketmaster and there they were! I AM SO EXCITED! :D
They aren't the best (I wanted standing) as I'll have a side view of the stage but I'm going to see Bruce and the E Street band! :blob2:
People were laughing at me in the office because I was jumping around after I got them, but I don't care!
