Have we talked about him before?

I saw him Sunday night at one of his "work in progress" gigs. This was the third time I've seen him. I think he is one of the funniest and most brilliant people walking the earth.

His new show is pretty similar to previous ones. Lots of walking us through history, lots of showing us through humor how ridiculous organized religion is, etc.

I can't say I like his rabid fans, though. They made the first 20 minutes or so a very awkward experience by laughing hysterically at every little thing he said (funny or not) and yelling out references to his televised shows. As if to show they are better fans than everyone else.

Any other fans out there?

I absolutely adore Eddie Izzard. He's hilarious and intelligent which is a fantastic combo!! I discovered him during the whole "Dress To Kill" stand-up about 8 years ago.

"We stole countries! That's how you build an empire. We stole countries with the cunning use of flags! Just sail halfway around the world, stick a flag in. "I claim India for Britain." And they're going, "You can't claim us. We live here! There's five hundred million of us." "Do you have a flag?" "We don't need a bloody flag, this is our country you bastard!" "No flag, no country! You can't have one. That's the rules... that... I've just made up!" ~Dress To Kill

He wasn't in drag at the performance on Sunday. Maybe drag isn't the right word for him, but you know what I mean. Which threw me a bit, because his made-up face really adds to the delivery. But he was still brilliant and a total delight.

He is a British comedian and actor. He won an Emmy for his HBO special "Dress To Kill." He's also a straight crossdresser.

The comparison to him and Perez Hilton made me want to throw up a little, but I'll survive.

I love him as well. His HBO special Dress to Kill is my favorite stand up show ever! I own the DVD. I just love his smart, historical humor.
