The Eagles and Dixie Chicks have been signed to headline the first concerts at the new Nokia Theatre L.A. Live in downtown Los Angeles.
The two acts will perform at a pair of grand opening concerts October 18 and 20. The shows will be the only U.S. performances by both artists this year.

Why do they keep building new theaters right in the thick of downtown? Who the hell wants to drive into that cauldron?

A note to Republicans...

DON'T GO TO THIS SHOW!

They'll only piss you off, and frankly, we don't want to hear you bitch about how you "wish they'd only sing and keep that other crap to themselves," even though you shelled out $70 to see that C&W tour Sean Hannity pimped out earlier this summer (boy, has Charlie Daniels become irrelevant or what!).

Me? I won't be going, because I could think of a much more productive way to spend the money. Now, I'd go if somebody had an extra ticket, but only if they promised to keep me loaded at all times.

Hahaha....Just what I was thinking. I want to see the Dixie Chicks so bad. Taking the Long Way was so ****ing amazing. The title track, Lullaby, Everybody Knows, Lubbock or Leave it....ahhhH!

I was thumbing thru the new Rolling Stone today, and I saw a blurb that said the Eagles' new album (and all future works) will be sold exclusively at Wal-Mart. They have entered into some sort of long-term arrangement with W-M which allows the band to basically be their own record company and label.

This is apparently old news, but I found it somewhat shocking anyway. And after a quick google, a good portion of the Interwebz does as well.

Their "new" single is great!!

(It's an old J.D. Souther song for those that don't know. :) )

Yes, well it's released on the Eagles own label, and sold exclusively at Wal-Mart and Sams Club - and a good way to hide if the album tanks... Since Wal-Mart doesn't belong or report to Soundscan any of it's sales. It's apparently 20 tracks, 2 discs or something like that... so don't expect it to make a dent on the billboard charts... infact it will probably be non-existent.

So how much money are they looking for this? Do you know?

I think it sucks that they'd allow Wal-Mart to make money off of them. I hate Wal-Mart, been boycotting them for several years.
