as many of you know i had a cute little 4 yr old weenie dog named sweeney lynn (lynn after stevie's middle name)~ she was my spoiled baby & i worshiped her~ well yesterday she woke up paralyzed & we have no idea why~ the vet said it could have been a stroke, they did an x-ray & said there was no actual injury to the back, thus bringing on the stroke theory~ when i took her out the night before to go potty she was fine & frisky, whatever happened, happened when we were asleep~ i just got up to take her potty & she was dragging her backside~ so after rushing her to the vet, there was nothing i could do but to end her suffering~ which i have to say was so hard because she kept kissing me~ she will be missed immensely~ & i have to give thanks to my hubby who rushed home from wrk to my hysterical cries & when it was all over, made me a beautiful little funeral for my puppy~
 Sweeney thanx for the memories girl & all the fun we had taking you to south dakota my little road dog~ Bless you!!! ~

I am VERY sorry to hear that. Maybe she was bitten by a spider during the night?
She's in a better place now. And trust me, you made the right decision.

Oh I'm so sorry to hear that!
The same thing just happened to my cat. The vet said it was a "saddle thrombosis"... There was nothing we could do. It was the first time I had to have an animal put to sleep and I stayed with him until he was gone, so I know what you are going through...

I'm SOO sorry to hear about this Jill. This also brought me to tears too, and I'm still choked up. Mary was right.. You will meet her at the Rainbow Bridge. I had something similar happen to me as well, as my boyfriend and I adopted a sweet baby German Shepherd puppy on July 4th, a couple of years ago, and one day he just woke up paralyzed and couldn't keep his little head up, and it was SOOOO sad. We rushed him to the vet, so we ended up doing the same thing.. Just know they are in a better place, and they are with us every day... Stay strong girlfriend.. and know that Sweeney is with you!
Sending lots of love your way..

I'm so sorry to hear about your beautiful little Sweeney. I lost a very beloved cat only a few months ago, just as suddenly. At not quite three years old, he had cardiomyopathy. It's so hard and not fair. My thoughts go out to you, with best wishes in getting throught his time. :(

Aaaaw, poor little baby. My thoughts are with you.
Jill, I am so very sorry to hear about little Sweeney.
I adore animals so very much, and they are my preferred company, they are not cruel, or backstabbing, or stress givers, they just want love...
I know you will join her again, at the beautiful Rainbow Bridge....
My love to you, from me and the kitties, too...

I am very sorry, Jill. :distress:
I remember it was just a month or so ago, you posted photos of her! She was one beautiful puppy. I am sure this is a difficult time for your son as well. My kids had a tough time when we had to put my cat to sleep. (some asshole kicked him as he rolled on the sidewalk, wanting to be petted...broke his pelvis....****tard!)

OMFG! How do you know that happened??? If I EVER saw that happen I would seriously beat the **** out of whoever did it, my cat or someone else's cat.
If I EVER saw anyone hurting an animal that would be it for them, I don't care what happens to me, I won't allow that.
I only saw something happen once, a brat was throwing rocks at a cat up in a tree, (I was like 13) I ran out, beat the **** out of him, and made him take me to his house, and when his Mother answered, I told her what happened and told her I was calling the police, and if she ever let that ****er out of the house I would KILL him (he killed the cat) and she was all bad assed to me "he's only a child"...I said, "ok bitch if you don't do anything about it, YOU better never step out of this house, either, because I know where you live, and I WILL be watching!" I take animal cruelty VERY seriously.
I was 2 minutes from busting a window out to save some kitties from this bitch who abandoned them in a town house when she rolled up (I had called the animal welfare) ... I had the lawn chair in my hand, the screen I had already yanked out, the window was next.
She also tried to break all bad assed, and had brought them some food (they had not had any for who knows how many days) and said she was taking them to the shelter the next day (which she may have done as they were gone) and so I said,
"I'll take that orange one"...and baby Karma came home to live with my gang.

God Bless the little ones, they are the best thing in this world, and Jill, Kristin, Brooke, Kelly, and anyone who has lost one knows the Joy that is lost when they are gone...

The vet is the one is told me. he strongly suspected he was kicked in the side...as he did not have any of the signs of a fall or being hit by a car. He just had a huge bruised area along his flank, with a broken pelvis. He said he sees it more than you would think. I was mortified. My cat was extremely trusting and wanted to be petted by anyone who strolled by the house. I have never really gotten over it..even though it was five or six years ago that this happened.

That makes me sick. I don't blame you for being mortified, and not getting over it, they are just so trusting, and then some piece of human waste does that.
I only hope Karma pays that scumbag back 100X over with WORSE fate.
Your poor kitty. What was his name?
