It is now #4 on the Billboard club play dance charts. I smell a #1 next week. :blob2:

That's great, and it would be awesome if it got up to number 1. I LOVE STEVIE!!

I had no idea it had moved up so high. ok, here's my ~~*wyndchyld~~* moment...but this is really a testament to Stevie's ~~timelessness~~
she should maybe consider a complete remix album. :D

so against that idea. It was too Cher-like for Stevie. I didnt want her to go down to that level. However, after hearing Dreams and Stand Back remixed and seeing new young people getting into them at the clubs, I think I may have changed my mind. As long as the DJs keep the original intent of the song and dont go too techno with it, I am cool. I just dont want Stevie to loose her dignity. I think she can have both. I am for it!!

keep in mind that there are artists who's genre is totally dance/techno. look at Kristine W. or Amber. don't dismiss it as something that would degrade Stevie or make her lose her dignity. as far as too Cher-like...it amazes me that some people say things like that. like it kind of dismisses the validity of her music. I, personally, loved Cher's last two albums more than her other stuff because they were dance albums done right and done well. dance music is just as valid as any other form of music, maybe not your taste or something you understand, but it's valid nonetheless. dance music is not just about remixing songs. and, as you say, the remixes do nothing but expose a ton of people to Stevie's music. I'm not harping, just making a small point.

I am just not a Cher fan at all...at least not of her latest music. To me, she made that music because she knew it would sell well with the gay crowd. I just do not think that Cher feels her music the way that Stevie does. Maybe it has something to do with Cher not writing her music. I think Cher is just a media hound...she is not an actress or a singer...she just is a star.
I just dont see Stevie doing a dance oriented album...but remixing some of her already recorded music is a great idea if you ask me.

I can see your point, but I'll have to disagree. Cher has written lots of songs and even written an entire album on her own I believe. I think it was called not.com.mercial. and, to me, she is an actress. Mask, Silkwood, Witches of Eastwick just to name a few. I'm sure a lot of people agree with you though cause that's just the stigma Cher has attached to her. I do agree with you that Cher doesn't approach or regard her music the same way Stevie does. they are two totally different artists with different mindsets and realities.
yes, I said realities.

I knew about the Not Commercial album and I realize she wrote all those songs. However, has Cher written any of her biggest hits? I know Sonny used to write songs. Has she written any of the songs I would know? I really do not know. And, yes, I am gay also and a non-Cher and non-Madonna fan. Who knew? lol

you know, honestly, the only non-Not Commercial songs I can think of are Real Love and The Music's No Good Without You. I may have mistakenly thought that she co-wrote at least one song per album.

Yeah! I went out in West Hollywood last night, and I heard the Stand Back remix at the Abbey. Then I went to the club next door and heard it AGAIN. People are loving it!
