This has probably been asked a hundred times, but does anyone know anything about this?? I really like it. Especially the bits on the beach. How come this was never used?

hi...i've seen this video a thousand times and never noticed the beach scene...must have been edited for some reason...it really doesn't fit in anyway to the idea of the song so maybe that's why it was edited...take care...pat

I really like this video, I think it's a real shame that the only version we have of it is so choppy and distorted.
Note my sig pic! :D

There are 2 versions, one with beach and split-screen twirling, and one without. I found the second version (same as above) posted by priestofnothing on veoh, and it was titled "Revised Version #1." I think the version you're talking about is the first version, which was probably a first pass or working edit.
I tried to find the other version, but no luck. So, you'll have to settle for this instead:

It was. I just don't get it, I have very distinct memories of this being played on MTV. But several times, people have told me that it's not the case.
It's possible that it wasn't actually MTV, but rather some sort of music programs on other channels. But I promise you, it WAS released and was broadcast on tv, and don't let anyone tell you otherwise. :blob2:

It's fabulous, but I hate that the tape goes all funny at that point ... still, the green flash is kinda funky!

I think the beach really does fit. The song has a whole verse about the sea.
Also, the clip with the cockatoo looks like the Annie Liebowitz photo session.

That picture is just extraordinary.
Are there any others from that session floating around? I'd kill to see them. :blob1:

i've always found it interesting that aunt stevie's most popular song and arguably her best never had a proper video.
it also freaks me out in the beginning when that picture in the frame comes to life. Reminds me of the movie It and that's never cool.

LMAO! I remember when I first saw that film. Scared the bejesus out of me. It's highly laughable now though.
