I wanted to give a quick update for those who may have been following my Mom's condition. (For those who don't know, she had a bad stroke in May of last year - really a brain aneurysm which burst and then caused stroke damage. She had been expected to recover within one year but there have been tremendous complications due to a serious bedsore which we have been told was preventable.) She had been doing much better, for example was much more alert and "all there," and working much better with the communications device we had gotten her. But when I visited yesterday, she was completely unresponsive - her Oxygen Saturation level was 84%, which is under the acceptable limit. It also turned out that her blood pressure was very high and her heart was beating very fast (150 beats per minute.) She was rushed to the hospital in an ambulance. The Doctor examined her and at first he wasn't freaking out anywhere near as much as the nurses and Resident Physician, 2 of which told us, "She's very sick." He thought it was probably an easily-treatable Urinary Tract Infection. (An X-Ray of her lungs showed no problems.) But today they're beginning to wonder if she may actually have a Pulmonary Embolism - a blockage from a clot, of a blood vessel, in the arteries that bring blood to her lungs. (Her Oxygen Saturation had dropped a second time to around 84%.) If it's a Pulmonary Embolism, that could be dangerous, especially since she's already knocked down from the stroke.
Anyway we're back to the hospital situation. Hopefully it's just a Urinary Tract Infection. If it's a P.E. then there's apparently drugs they can give her to break up the clot.

I'd appreciate it if people would pray for her.
