Okay, I try not to reply to threads where I can't be informationally useful, but you are CRACKING MY **** UP tonight. This is number two from you tonight when I had to say something that wasn't informationally useful. Just because your vivid description of what you heard/saw/imagined, coupled with your vagueness about what actually occurred, touches my heart. That is exactly how I would describe some stupid great **** that I couldn't remember. Except...you may be even more vague about actual facts than I could have managed. Which you have made up for in pure descriptive memory craziness. Your memories are very specific. So I believe them.
I. Could. Not. Be. More. Delighted.

Phoenix,
I feel your pain. I, too, searched for years for a song that I only knew the chorus to. All my DJ friends SWORE it didn't exist....oh..but it did, and the last laugh was mine....15 years later!
I love challenges like this, so if you can remember any other lyrics, it would help.

I've been looking - on and off - for a song I remember from 1979. I've only found one other person who even remembered it, and he was contacting me to find out if I'd tracked down the name of the band.

I have searched for and found songs like that before... and I hope you will and I know it will be awesome when you do! I will try and think on it as well.

And Neb-Maat-Re, may I just say that your sig line is the BEST :D

Thanks for that great grin!

Could it have been Jess Klein? I know she is another mumbler at times and I don't know nearly all her work, yet.

Or another one of the women from when she and three others did the "Voices on the Verge" project maybe...
will delve some more

You are probably thinking of Mazzy Star's "Fade Into You" from their album So Tonight That We Might See. You can hear the track at Amazon.com, etc.

I have been in your shoes a gazillion times, and seemingly cannot function until I get the song. I'll hear a snippet and then spend hours trying to track it down. Try these sites...

Leo's site is the best. Good Luck!!!!!!

You are most welcome, however....

Years?!?!

I guess I'm REALLY an old fogey. Although, not really- because the music industry/muse died around 1997/1998.

I forgot the fact that your age was one of Andre's Basket Questions- but, how old are you, really???

You should be asking Eliud that question.... ;)

You weren't crazy. Hope Sandoval (the woman who wrote and sings that song) is quite the goddess. She's got a lot of great material.

 WHAT? what is a "basket question" what do you mean what age am i really? and fogey? what do u mean, arent u like 30? What should i do for Eluid? so manny questions, im allways kinda like outa the loop hahah.
But yeah, that Hope chick is a really good singer. I think its also ironic that i am trying to find a tv. show in another thread that has a girl named hope in it who sings.

You may, but you should thank the good people at My Name Is Earl.

That was without doubt the funniest line I have heard on TV in a very long time.

Thanks, Raeven - i've just found it today:

http://70s.tuneforums.com/thread_view.php?threadID=85

I was off by 2 years - it was 1981. But the guy even identified the episode of the fairly onscure show (to him) that I saw it on.

I see you've found your song, too. If you hadn't, I was going to suggest one the other message boards associated with the one above. The folk there (especially Dan) are quite remarkable:
