ROCK ON, GOLD DUST WOMAN: At a recent Stevie Nicks concert at Chastain Park, a 44-year-old woman was sitting in a "no seating" area, according to Chastain's director of security. He asked the woman to move -- but she refused. A police officer showed up, and asked her to move to an approved seating area. "[The woman] became enraged with anger and began screaming and yelling in [the security guard's] face, who was forced to take several steps back," the officer wrote. Then, the security guard said the woman had to leave the concert because of her behavior. The woman pushed the security guard and hit him, the officer noted. The officer said he grabbed the woman's arm, and she hit him, so he tried to handcuff her. She resisted by "pulling away, pushing off a nearby tree and refused to walk when told," the officer wrote. The woman said she was injured, but refused to say what body part was hurt, the officer added. Medics arrived, but the woman refused treatment. The 44-year-old woman was charged with simple assault/battery and went to jail. (Proving you're never too old to get tossed from a concert. Stevie, maybe you can send her a signed T-shirt in the slammer. ...)

Well, the concert was a wild one - but, and quite sadly I might say, I was not this tragic 44 year old.
I do say KUDOS to her for hitting the a$$hole security at Chastain!

I you get an email from a rather large, sensible police woman inquiring about the trick you do with a Llama - go along with it and there is a C note in it for you.

And, I thought Soboba was bad. If Atlanta's security acted anything like Soboba's, then I seriously doubt that the woman was acting as whacked as they said she was. Security is just trying to justify their over-reaction to the situation.
At a recent Lindsey concert in San Diego, one security guard got on several of us for taking pictures and/or standing on a small, brick-sized riser in front of the stage. After scolding me for taking pictures, one of the guards gave me a challenging look even after I had apologized and put the camera away. I wasn't drunk, acting inappropriately or combative so the look was unnecessary. I refused to take the hate-bait.
For the most part though, security is great but there are some who go over-board. They are the ones who draw imaginary lines you mustn't cross and/or arbitrarily make up unwritten rules on the spot just because they're abusive. Those types love to provoke confrontations and effectively ruin the moment because they are twisted. Haters hate has been my experience and they are not happy unless everyone is as miserable as they are and some of them wear badges (security or otherwise). To paraphrase John Mellencamp, "Jellyfish are happy when they get you in a compromising position....I fight authority, authority always wins....." And so they too often do.
