*New Calendar Contest on the Nicksfix!*

The Nicksfix is holding a Calendar Giveaway. There will be 5 winners for the new Herbie calendar. The thing is you have to listen to a 12 second clip of 15 songs mashed together, and identify each one correctly. It's not as easy as it sounds...here's the list i made so far of the ones i could identify. Let's all play the game together and try to guess them all! The game ends midnight on June 23rd.

I just sent mine in and I thought it was pretty easy. Two or three were stumpers for about an hour until I worked them out. I don't want to post my answers because all that will do is reduce my chances of winning. :D Numbers 5, 9 and 12 were the ones I obsessed over. I think there is a common thread in all the songs used. Once I figured that out, the ones I was stumped on got easier.

BTW..a few peeps on Seven Wonders think number three is a BN song. I really don't hear it and am pretty confident about my answer....which certainly is not a Buckingham Nicks tune.

#3 IS a BN song and it is SO easy, the only one I got tripped up on was #12 which I thought was one thing, but then I had to go back and listen to it again and thought it was something else. Then I played the two tracks in question and it became obvious.

You know what it is, and I can only do this with Stevie or Fleetwood Mac songs, there's not many other artists I can do this with, but when I'm singing along to a Stevie or Mac song, I tend to "sing" the musical breaks too. I have most of Stevie's songs memorized from start to finish and that includes the musical breaks, I can't play them on an instrument, but in my head have the entire songs memorized. It's just something that I picked up on. That is why this contest only took one listen to get all but one of them. It's a curse!!! LOL!

I, too, am fairly certain that #3 is not the BN song. That song is in a minor key, and the clip sounds like it's a song in a major key. Or at least, it sounds to me like the BN song is in a minor key. But, I have no clue what #3 is. For those who think they know #3, can you just answer me this: is it a song on one of Stevie's/FM's released albums, or is it some song placed randomly somewhere else or a song that is rare?

Song #3 is an officially released song. The song has also been performed on stage by Fleetwood Mac. No story of Stevie Nicks' career is complete without mentioning this song.

As for the other songs, I am 100% sure I picked all of them correctly. #4 is If You Ever Did Believe when she says, "Well one more night I'd like to lie and hold you..." You can tell it's her older voice. #12 I also had as Nothing Ever Changes for some time until I really listened to it, and you can tell by the bass part in the clip. Since Sisters has a distinct bass part, you can tell that's what it is. I don't think I'm wrong, but you never know...I didn't enter anyway because I promised I wouldn't if someone told me what #3 was. It was just driving me so MAD that I had to know just for my own sanity, not for the contest. :lol:

I have been doubting myself EVAH since w/ all this debate going around. My 1st thought had been Blue Denim for #3, but it has percussion thru the whole song. This clip sounded thinner if that makes any sense. I thought most recently that it was Don't Let Me Down Again...but DAMN it all to hell....I'll still be perplexed till the answers come out. :distress:

Well, I guess there is some satisfaction in having gotten all the songs correct, even though I didn't win. I still say the calendar isn't that great, but it's much better when it's free. The next contest couldn't be any easier.

And I wonder, I saw that skuncles added (1997) to the Silver Springs. I mean it's obvious that it was the Dance version vs. the b-side, but I did not put that down. I wonder if that nixed me as a candidate for the "correct" answers draw. I guess really there is a Silver Springs a & b.

You know I only put 1997 after Silver Springs just because it was that version of it. As for a/b sides, that makes it tougher. This song has so many different versions out there right now, the version on "Crystal Visions" is different from the version on "The Chain" which is different from the original B-side version. Then there's the outtake version on the remastered "Rumours". I have no idea where all these came from but they are all slightly different.

Wow, funniest story ever about that album. Today i was at a thrift store with one of my friends-they had a huge sale, I got a perfect cashmere sweater and a AE sweatshirt for 5.50!! :lol:
but I'm looking at the CDs right, and guess what I saw?? TSIL!!!
So I pick it up, and clumsy me, I droped it, I opened it to see if the CD broke, right? comes to find out-There was NO CD in the case!! :mad:
I almost just bought it, Im so glad I opened it!!
I'm going to a used CD store on Thursday maybe, my mom said she'd fund my need for a Stevie album before I go to Florida! :lol: [which would you reccomend-RAL or WH??, TSIL is kindof on my secondary list, cause they sell that one on iTunes, and im expecting some cash for my upcoming birthday, so I'm buying an iTunes card...]

I cant wait to check out the new contest :)

Contest this week. Easy. Before difficult. Not super easy, not super hard. Needed attention and a few listens. Week 2. Puh-lease. That said....I announce to you here, my dear Ledgies the biggest fan blunder when I say I entered the wrong words for #5. I mean lets keep some face and not ask me what a friggin tard I am ok???? :lol: BUT, WRONG. I mean wow. It just dawned on me today too. I was like, "um...omfg Anita...did you enter what I think you entered for #5?" I'm so dissapointed in myself. :eek: I think I need to officially shut down the SN room/shrine. ;) Will donate proceeds from sale of SN items to the Official Stevie Nicks "hooked on lyric phonics."

I had two or three wrong last week. I still don't hear Frozen Love for number three...but whatever. :laugh: I definately submitted my answers too quickly last week. It is really Stevie's fault anyway.....too many of her songs sound similar. :laugh: Skunkles is the one who said it was easy, not me.

Hey, I nailed week one, so I get some of my fan devotion back right??? :lol: BUT, I began 2nd guessing myself w/ all the threads here and elsewhere. As for week 2, I still can't belive I blundered SO hardcore. I'll never live it down...and admitting/posting is the 1st step to recovery. bawhahaha.
