I try to listen to it, I really do, but after hearing it on the radio for about the 100th time, you kindof just get sick of it :(
then at school dances ALL they play is rap/popular stuff...it just gets agrivating. I do like the song SexyBack though

idk, I like a lot of that stuff, tbh. Like Maneater for instance. OBV it's not the greatest song ever. But it's so catchy and sexy, you have to love it.

okay, i'm going to try to think of ten. i'm sure there ARE ten.. it's just remembering them on command. my internal filing system has errors.
i have omitted my favorite dance tracks, because there are FAR too many to even begin considering among them all.. so these are "standard" singles or album tracks. in no order..
the white stripes - the hardest button to button
the faint - take me to the hospital
the flaming lips - ego tripping at the gates of hell
elliot smith - coast to coast
the bravery - an honest mistake
freezepop - bike thief (lol.)
bright eyes - hit the switch
the dandy warhols - get off
franz ferdinand - you're the reason i'm leaving (i have to give them one even though i've been over FF for a while.)
okay, and one breakbeat track just so i have a tenth..
terry grant ft. jennifer horne - i'll kill you <3<3<3<3
holy smokes, that took forever to decide on.

You're right. A few years ago I only listened to old stuff because I thought everything new was like the pop/rap/hip-hop they played on most radio stations. Then I discovered indie radio, and my whole perspective on music changed. You will find good new music; you just have to look in the right places.

Jenny Lewis with the Watson Twins - The Big Guns
i was getting ready to type up my No Love For Arcade Fire or Jenny Lewis diatribe when you saved my day. also deserve more attention: wilco, flaming lips, littlest man band, mike doughty, and steel train.
i don't have enough hours in the day to filter that down to ten songs. actually, i do. just not in this day. :wavey:

Now you have to name those songs Ryan!
You know, I hate it when people complain that music used to be soooo much better and is crap now. I guarantee you there was as much crap music in the 60s, 70s, 80s or whenever, the only reason it seems like those years were better is that everyone has forgotten most of the crap while mainly the good stuff has endured. If you're only listening to top 40 radio then you're only hearing a tiny percentage of the music out there.
