WOW. WOW. WOW. Stevie was WOW. I had such a great time. I spent fifty dollars on a dozen white roses which i had done up special for Stevie...they sprayed glitter stuff on them and they looked amazing. I kept getting compliments on them all night long. I got to the concert and as soon as Stevie went on I ran to the front of the stage. The first time I was up there I was standing in front of Sharon, Jana, and Lori. Jana waved hi and smiled at me after I took a picture of them. That was pretty cool. :] My shoes were soaked, though, I was standing in ankle deep water. Then one of the security guards there told me to go back to my seat. I went back to my seat for like five minutes, grabbed the roses and ran back down and begged one of the other security guards to let me stay up there. I guess they felt bad for me so they let me go up...this time I was like right between Stevie and Waddy, yay! Waddy sounded great. I gave him a thumbs up and he smiled at me. The night just flew by...it was crazy, before I knew it she was doin the Edge Walk. I handed her the flowers and she said "thank you." and I told her I loved her, lol, and she said "I love you too." and she grabbed both my hands and for like two seconds we just stood there looking directly into each others eyes. It was intense! I didn't really feel the intensity of it until thirty minutes later when I was driving home. WOW. LOL.
The flowers I bought stevie

Yes, it was a leopard print. She looked so cute in it. I was a little disappointed that she didn't dance all too much, but I'm thinking her 52 layers weighed her down.

I know, it was after 9 I think by the time she came on. Chris Issak felt like he was on forever.
The show was awesome. I try to see her every year at Jones, and imo, this is the best she's been in years. (Granted my first solo Stevie show was TISL era, and she really struggled that night) I was glad the set list changed somewhat from the last few years.
I took my cousin and her friend for their first ever concert. Afterwards, they rambled on and on how great she looked and how excited they were to see her.

I stuck it out to the bitter end with him to the point where I was like, "I'm gonna kill myself." His little ad-libbing during "Baby Did a Bad Thing" was entirely too cheesy.

Are my eyes deceiving me or does she have on those high black boots she wore in that Oz magazine spread? She has them on in brown on the bed picture. Those boots look hot, whatever they are.

I would imagine that they were all the disgruntled people who were pi$$ed off at not being allowed to take their seats in the front sections. During Eye Sack's set I actually complained to the manager of the place. He asked me what he could do for me. I bluffed and asked about a refund. Wasn't going to happen. Then I asked for a backstage pass. Uh uh. All he could do was offer me a ticket for another show at Jones Beach or a ticket for something at the North Fork Theatre in Westbury. Anyway, since I knew it wasn't worth pursuing any further, I just went back and nonchalantly snuck up to my seat. Actually ended up sitting on the stage during Eye Sack's last number when he invited people in the front to dry off. That was really, really surreal.

When the house lights went down, the man sitting next to me turned to his wife and said, "Let's make this the Greatest Hits show. We're out after 3 songs." And they were out after 3 songs.

I'm not sure, to be honest... all I know is that no additional people were being allowed up front for Eye Sack's set; only those who got there before high tide were allowed to stay. And from what I can tell, people weren't being allowed through until the first part of Stevie's set. It was a very, very chaotic situation...

I mean, the hat is fugly, even more so now that I know about the netting ( ), but it's so awesomely fugly it's become just awesome. Just like a horror movie that is so bad it becomes really good, at least a really good comedy. And the hat was already a long way on its way to being awesome because it was new. So, despite the fugliness, I say hurray!
Gawd, I'm starting to sound like Amber.
Now let me focus on the boots a little more. I think those are new also. ****, Stevie. Overload.

Yea, in some of the photos they do look like either tight pants or leg warmers but in one or two, they look shiny, like leather. She probably had pants on under all her dresses...darn it. I love those boots.
The velvet hat is really cute, I just wish it looked more like a beret...but I guess it was for warmth, not fashion.

what is up with stevie and jones beach? i could've gone last night but opted out cause it was just too freaking cold. the weather the past few days in the NE here has been more like late september. not very outdoor concert feel at all.
so, the last time i saw her there was with FM on the SYW tour in early June 2004 (the 6th I recall...actually, had to look it up!). It was freezing that night as well. Did she play there in 2005? What was the weather like that night? Remember back in 1986 on the bootleg video she says that the performance was the "rain date."
what's up with jones beach? does it not like stevie!?
after seeing that pic of all the water on the floor, i'm glad i didn't go. i love stevie but....
i also had a blast seeing her at red rocks on memorial day, so all is not lost. i still have scranton, pa (yawn) to possibly attend.

Yep, one of the Two Voices tour dates was at JB- almost two years to the date, and it was freakin' freezing that day too. I'll never forget it because it was a sauna in the city so I left for JB wearing just a tank top and shorts. It was easily 30 degrees cooler at JB! I don't think I have ever been so cold in my life...
The water last night was actually neat, and believe it or not, it was actually warmer than the air temperature. If it wasn't for the potential electrical hazard, I would have been splashing up a storm.

Stevie is wearing glittery pants that are gathered below the knee like her leg warmers. At the Dallas show, and I believe all shows since, she's been coming out wearing these with her black fittied jacket and mini dress for the first few songs. It looks like because of the cold, she kept them on under all her outfits and skirts which definitely makes them look more like boots or leg warmers.

Oh I KNOW! It was so cold. I remember suffering in my apartment in the city because my air conditioner hadn't arrived and bringing a little shawl to Jones Beach. Luckily my date (and a kind relative of Waddy's) gave me his leather coat which wrapped around me twice thankfully while he shivered next to me. The idea is to book a show at Jones Beach in JULY or AUGUST, as opposed to the early June and late September dates that Stevie books.

Brown and black go together to some degree, but throw in the white and the only thing that really goes with it is grey or a very bright color like red. Not brown. And don't even get me started on the leopard print with that white flowy dress. To me it comes across as a last minute throw together because they realized the wind wasn't going to settle down.
But still awesome.
