I wound up making my way up to the first row...what a treat! Stevie looks amaaaazing, and she sounds better than ever!
Still learning how to use my camera...some pics are more focused than others, but I like the aesthetics of all of them.

Great pics! So the beige boots are out making an appearance again. :) And it appears she's also got the new white dress in black also (what a shocker!). Stevie's lookin' good!! Anything different with the setlist? Is FFG in or out? Any signs of WLT??

Fall From Grace was out, with no replacement. She did not do WLT at soundcheck.

The beige boots are hot. I posted a whole slew of photos of them over on 7W. Great show, much better than Vegas IMO. Stevie seemed happier and very into the music.

Chris EyeSack is pretty funny and not too hard on the eyes.

Love these pics. And I'm excited by the beige boots as well because they're the classic heels, not the modified shorter ones on the new black boots. And that Stand Back outfit with the pants is gorgeous.

Thanks for sharing!

For now, I think it is an extremely short set list.

People are assuming she might add it based on her dvd comments. Plus supposedly someone heard it being rehearsed at one of the Soundchecks. It was not done at the Soundcheck last night in Holmdel, though. I don't think the set will change much when Chris leaves anyway..maybe one or two different things. She played for less than two hours on the TISL, GD and I think Enchanted tours. Last night she was onstage for about an hour and fifty minutes. She didn't play FFG in Oklahoma City but then added it back in for other shows. It was probably a time constraint thing...

The same thing happened with Don Henley, too. She played for almost the same length of time last night as she did when Don left the GD tour. I really wouldn't mind her adding WLT...at least it is something new. (It is not one of my favorite songs but it's different)

The last time I went up to Holmdel was on the SYW tour, when Stevie was sick...in the middle of the cancellations. So, I am not sure. I do think Don has way more fans than Chris....at least comparing the amount of fans who appeared to be at the shows JUST for Don. There was only one little old lady I met last night who was there JUST for Chris. I am sure there were others but they weren't many compared to the Eagles/Don fans from 2005. So I think Stevie is selling alot of tickets this summer. Which is good news.

I think the main issue is giving credit. Many fans are touchy about this. I've found if you ask or give credit, you're less likely to get vilified.

As for photographers making money off these pictures. It's always possible, but unlikely. Most photographers can't do much with low res images posted on the web. You need at least 300 dpi to get decent prints. And unless you're shooting high profile celebrities in Hollywood, you're not making tons of money in this profession. But even then, who cares?

There was a cameraman on the floor who was filming, plus the usual still cam on the soundboard area. I did not see cameras all over the place though. The one guy who was filming was right next to me and he told me he was filming for the band. He filmed Chris Issack as well. It didn't look anything like the Live IN Boston filming....more like possible future interview footage or something? There we no cameras on booms on anything.

Professional photographers are entirely different. Of course they should copywrite their pictures. I don't own Stevie's image, and I am no professional, so as long as no one plops them on a Tshirt and makes money off of them, I don't care about sharing photos I take.

Kind of interesting that Stevie played Holmdel nine years ago almost to the date (Jun 13, 1998) for Enchanted.

If Stevie decides to drop Fall From Grace completely from the set, I think Whole Lotta Trouble would be comparable replacement. But she's never been able to get the lyrics down on any tour, which is curious and a little bizarre. The lyrics in the verses get seriously flubbed. :o

The way I figure it is that if you are sharing your pictures on the internet, then you are actually GIVING them away. If somebody uses it for something else, so be it- it's no skin off anyone's back. It's not like you were officially authorized to take these pictures or that you were hired to take the pictures. And the photographer is no hapless victim- the pics were invariably snapped without Stevie's consent or authorization. Now, on the otherhand, if you were authorized to take her pictures, or you had paid Stevie for the rights to take her pictures and then to sell them for profit, that is another matter altogether...

Taking pictures is fun, and sharing them is even more fun. Share them, enjoy them, and don't get y'all's panties all in a bunch about them. :wavey:

Thank you all so much for your compliments on the pics, I really appreciate it! I hope to take clearer ones in the future :woohoo:

And a note:
I wish I had put a copyright notice on my pics, I don't feel comfortable just 'putting them out there', but I didn't have time to research how to put a watermark on. I am glad I could make people who didn't like watermarks happy, though. ;)
All I ask is this: please ask permission before using, even if it's just to put on a bootleg CD insert. Because I have been violated before, and it was NOT fun.

True story:
I once had one of the pics I posted online ripped off by a major company, who proceeded to make hundreds of thousands of dollars off my little pic.
I posted that pic along with a dozen others. The one that got ripped off was the ONLY one that I hadn't copyrighted (of course!), because I didn't think it was that good.
If I had copyrighted it, I could have sued them for about six figures, and become a substantially wealthier woman. We did settle out of court, for a pittance, though.

But what the hey, it's the internet, anything can happen!
Hell, let me research how to put a watermark on, though...

So when/if someone does will you then be on the other side of the fence?

Just all those that piss and moan..it's like are you that ungrateful for them being shared at all? I'd say 90% of those that DO share have had their pics taken from them and re-sold. Although I get what HNY says about not having the right from the get go...we (I think I speak for the general masses) DO enjoy taking pics and DO enjoy sharing them, but then seeing them sold on Ebay is a real pisser! When I have shared on the board (which I seldom do cause of abuse that's sure to follow and having to ask "lookers" PLEASE DO NOT TAKE TO SELL...I mean are we all 5 here? Should we have to put that disclaimer up?) I put the watermark on the bottom or side...not across. But that's my choice, and each person that takes a pic gets to make the choice to share, to watermark or not to watermark. I just emailed a girl @ 7W asking if I could right click her pics to print. She'd be none the wiser had I just done it, but I thought it nicer to ask. That's me. No better than anyone else, just thought the taker would appreciate someone asking first.

So take it or leave it....and those that jab others about putting watermarks on pics, leave em be or don't enjoy what's been shared. Those of you personally that opt NOT to add watermarks makes no matter. You've shared w/ the group, and I personally appreciate anyone that shares anything.

Amen sister!! I appreciate anything that anyone shares--watermarks or not. This is exactly why I didn't bother posting my current Detroit photos over here...... last time I posted photos (Gold Dust tour & Don tour) I got the snide remarks about how someone apparently thought my watermark was too big..... with a  to go along with it... I didn't have to share but I did--and this time I didn't because it isn't worth the bother anymore just to get unappreciated remarks... I didn't HAVE to share but I did--I like taking photos and think it is fun--I don't like seeing people steal other peoples photos and sell them on ebay--sorry I just don't think that is cool. I know not everyone agrees with me and that is fine. Everyone is entitled to their opinion...... I did post my Detroit photos on that "other" board if anyone is interested--and yes they have watermarks--so if you don't want to see them with the watermarks then please don't look!

Yea, ok.....you are right. I will just keep any of the video and photos I take from now on.....all to myself.

Half the fun for me is in sharing with other fans who will appreciate the videos and photos. No, I really wouldn't be on the other side of the fence if someone put one of my photos on a tshirt, because it already happened during the SYW tour. Obviously, why I mentioned the tshirt. .

Sharing photos you have bought from a professional photographer like Herbie is completely different, IMO, than your personal concert photos. I have no right to take Stevie's photo at the show anyway, so I do not see the need to copyright them. She obviously doesn't give a **** about enforcing the no camera policy, , but it is really irrevelevant to your argument.

Watermark your photos to death...I don't care, but I chose not to watermark an image of Stevie that I took at a show. I do not own the exclusive rights to Stevie's image.

I wonder how many bootleg dvds you own? Someone taped those boots and they are worth as much, if not more, than a concert photograph, to a hardcore fan. Did you ask permission of the taper or compensate him for watching their recording? I know he/she hasn't posted them on Veoh, for free download.
Perhaps he/she should put a copyright throughout the dvd and bitch away about how he "owns" them and how he has gotten screwed over because fans trade them all over the place for free?

Sharing video clips and photos of new boots has turned into a headache on the Ledge. How predictable. :distress:

+ making others that opt to add watermarks feel like pond scum.
I'm simply stating that their choice to do so ought not to be cause for you to make them feel less generous than you. Not getting that shows true "predictability." They...ok fug it..."I" enjoy sharing also. I'm taking time away from straight up enjoying the concert to snap pics eagerly to post on a msg board. Damn, I'm such an idiot. How bout the booters? Of which btw I probably own a great deal of what's out there...they all made it available for trade, w/ express consent that when it was new...it was traded for or bought WITH THEM...after the thrill is over, people then trade it amongst other people. THEY do it for something in return. MUCH DIFFERENT!

I wonder how many bootleg dvds you own? Someone taped those boots and they are worth as much, if not more, than a concert photograph, to a hardcore fan.

Who's utmost hardcore? Just that phrase makes me wonder if there isn't some underlying issue.

BTW...what thread has your pics? Were they pulled? After all this, I can't even say I know which ones are yours or if I had even seen them yet. I was pretty sure I thanked all so far that have shared. Perhaps I spurned you?

OK here are my 2 cents on the posting of concert photos. I do love to take photos at the concerts that I attend. For me not only do I enjoy it but I do feel that it is an art form and I do take it pretty seriously. I feel that the photographer is in a sense an “artist” whatever they use a tiny point and shoot camera or an SLR. With that being said I like to share my photos but I do like to receive credit for them. I do try to watermark all of my photos. I really hate to ruin my photos with a big watermark over the middle of them. I try to put it on the top or bottom of the photo. With me it is about receiving proper credit. I mean I am the one paying for the concert ticket, the camera and not to mention the batteries and SD cards. I also take the time to upload them and edit some of them. It takes some time and work. I would hate to see someone snag them and put them in their Photobucket account and try to pass them off as their own. Not cool in my book! I have seen this happen, too. Yes, people who sell them on T-shirts or Ebay are not cool, either! I don’t like to be violated.
I have seen my photos used as bootleg artwork especially for some of Lindsey’s solo shows. I was credited so to me it is not a big deal. I was never asked if they could be used which is odd but to be honest I would have said OK. I am not sure if any other photographer would feel the same way, however. I just feel that is respectful to ask that person who owns the rights to that photo. I also feel that the photographer has the right to put any darn watermark that they want to on a photo. It doesn't matter what it be large, small, or pink with purple polka-dots, it is up to the photographer of that original photo. I think that people should be a little bit more considerate of the concert photographers on any of the boards. No we are not international known photographers but still remember that it’s our time, money and effort to bring you the photos.

Sorry to highjack your thread Gypsy. Your photos are really nice. Thank you for sharing them with us!
This reminds me that I still have some Lindsey in Foxwoods photos to post.

Sorry I have to agree...... trading DVDs and downloading someone elses pics and selling them on ebay are two completely different things. You know if you share something you record that it is going to get traded all over..... that is pretty much a given anymore. I made a CD a long time ago of stuff I downloaded and shared it with a couple of people--and low and behold I start seeing it on peoples trading lists  Sorry I just found that amusing considering I just downloaded the stuff but whatever. And I would say the definition of a hardcore fan varies because I consider myself a pretty big fan--have loved Stevie since around '78 or '79 when I was still in grade school.....(telling my age) but I honestly don't own very many DVDs--I am all about photos and would much rather buy those than DVDs...... just my personal preference and I don't think it makes me any less of a fan. I love taking photos at concerts and I thought it was great fun to share them here for others to see--I didn't want my photos all over ebay though and followed suit of many others and watermarked them..... and then I got the snide comments about it. So like I said before...... if no one appreciates seeing them even though they have watermarks then I will just quit posting them. And that again is exactly why I didn't post mine here to begin with this time. I don't know about other venues but the rule of thumb here is that you risk getting your butt thrown out or your camera taken or your batteries taken, etc for taking pics. For some reason this last show Stevie allowed cameras so all was good--but anyways I guess that is kind of getting off the subject. I guess my point is if I am risking my butt to take photos for my enjoyment and to share here then it is my choice of whether to watermark them or not and don't expect to get ridiculed for doing so......... an innocent generous act has gotten to the point of being frowned upon--why??? I guess I am a little lost as to how this has all come about....... everyone seems to want something for nothing these days.... some people act like we owe it to them to post pics if we take any...... okay this is getting entirely too long and I'm sure I am going to get slammed so I will just end it here....... there are obviously very different opinions on the whole thing......

Thanks Amy. Yours is also well put. I did not mention the whole 'getting your butt kicked out" or the "batteries being taken away" issue but you are correct about that. I guess that we should add 'stress' to that list. I have actually had some pretty bad experiences at a few Lindsey shows. :distress:

Yeah I was really stressed out over this last Stevie show--and then I get there and they are totally allowing people to take photos!! ha ha This is the first Stevie concert I have EVER been allowed to just take photos at so I was pretty shocked (with the exception of the Tom Petty show). I am really happy I didn't decide to leave the camera home--because honestly I considered it. Now I just wish I would have brought my camera with the bigger zoom!! LOL!! When I went to work on Monday morning after the show the first words out of my co-workers mouth was "so did you get your camera taken away???" Yeah they know me well.........

I too am sorry about the hijack. Hadn't even thought of that. :( It's a very touchy subject for many, and all point are of interest and thought. This is a msg board. A place for fans discussion and views. All are entitled to what they think and do. I STRESS that I am most appreciative of what gets shared here or any other board for that matter. I am sad however when people seem taken advantage of or spoken out of turn should they decide different from other posters how they share their pics. Whatever...it's done. I'm mute on the subject any further. I'm down w/ sharing to those who ask and avoiding the whole "unsureness" of a board. I have no hate for any one person on board or singling out a member....was a generalization from several posts. Peace out.

Thanks for being so polite, y'all, but don't worry about 'hijacking' this thread. I'm glad we've gotten into some really interesting conversations about concert photography, rights, etc. Good stuff.
No apologies necessary. Glad it's become a forum for dialogue.

Speaking of which, anyone have good leads on how to put watermarks on your pics? I'm sure I can just do a google search, but I'd like to hear what other photographers like to use.

And I think we should keep a venue list of which places are Nazis about fan photography, and which ones are lenient. I'm sure it depends on:
A. The concert in question (Marilyn Manson vs. Stevie, etc.)
B. The section you're in (i.e. guards up front might be stricter than if you're snapping from the side or 20 rows back)
C. What mood the guards are in.
I can tell you that Jones Beach and Borgata didn't give a hoot. You could stand next to a guard and snap away.

Well I know at DTE (Detroit, Clarkston) they let the performer decide..... if the performer says okay then it isn't a problem. But if they say no then they are freakin' nazis about it!! LOL!! Stevie must have agreed to cameras this last show (for the first time since I've seen her there with and without the Mac). They were also allowing pics for the Tom Petty concert..... but like I said usually Stevie says no and it is a huge hassle :( I've had batteries taken away and have been told to put it away several times for other shows.......

I think its the zillion flash tubes going off in close range is what the artist don't like.which I can't blame them.I think Stevie or any other artist don't care if there concert photos are on Sleezbay or posted online.

Yes I agree about the flashes...... I recently went to my sons graduation and where our seats were we could see all of the camera flashes all over the arena and it was really quite annoying to have those flashes going off everywhere--and they weren't even close up.... I actually told my sister--now I know what Stevie Nicks feels like!! LOL!!!

As for posting photos online--I don't know if she cares about that--but I know someone that tried to sell some photos on ebay and they got pulled and I heard someone from Stevie's camp also contacted this person and said no....... you don't really see "recent" photos on ebay anymore you will notice.....

I love your pics too! I like the one from the back showing the GD shawl! And I love her~ what I'm guessing is her Rhiannon black outfit with the beige boots!! She looks great! I'm so glad the days w/ the big shoulder pads are over~ She has that classic Stevie look back like in the 70's and the pants are like a Bella Donna revival! I can't wait for next Tuesday!!!
