well, i already have a ticket for one of the solo shows just outside toronto. i decided already that i'm only giong to one show; i'm not driving 5-6 hours to go to multiple shows as i did in past years. why bother?

Hell no. If the vocals are on fire, I'll need a bootleg or two. Other then that, I'm saving my pennies for someone else's fresh material.

Michelle I LOVE your doggie! (I know I told u before, but they're so CUTE!!)

Anyway, yes I will be attending 2 shows - one is next wed. (San Diego) that I scored front row center on TM for, and the other is a chraity event in Vegas that I scored 2nd row for (for $50 if you can believe that!). Yeah the set list is the same, but I love seeing her live, especially up close,

Wow, I have to say I am really surprised that going to a concert depends on entirely on the set list and has nothing to do with getting to see the artist. Getting to hear a new song or two is always great, but Stevie is not known for changing things up a lot.
Having said that, yes I'm going, I don't care what she sings, she'll be there. I'll be there. This will be the 8th tour (solo and with the Mac) I've seen of hers in 20 years and wouldn't miss it for the world. For me it's like getting to hang out with an old friend for a few hours.

I get that, but if my "old friend" kept talking about the exact same things every time I visited her, I'd stop going. That would get about as boring as this tour.

Yes, I'm going. I've never had enough money to go follow her around the country, so everytime she's in town, I must go. I can't imagine knowing she's just a few miles away while I'm at home pouting about how lame her setlist is. If she's in town - I'm there.

I am planning on 2 more shows. Whether they pan out or not, I have to wait and see. Thereafter, I doubt I'll follow her around much anymore. Likely if she does ever come out again, I'll just go locally, and even that will kill me. I'm like others where I can't imagine not going if she is in my own back yard, but multiple shows of the same thing w/in a week of each other is getting old. I'm not bitching so much, as expressing my sadness that it has come to this. I've had my run, had a great time, but in the ticket & travle costs for a mere 3 shows, I could go to Australia. Really. Airfare is $444 each way. That's 2 1/2 shows add gas costs ( ) and merchandise. I mean really...what am I doing?!?!?!

Not by choice. I might inadvertantly stumble into a venue where she's performing at some point, you just never know. Life is full of mysteries. But, her set list will not be the deciding factor.

I keep looking for tickets on TM, if a front row pops up I don't know that I'll be able to resist. If not, then I'm not going. I really shouldn't, I'm moving next month and a friend is in town next week...so there are more important things to do with my funds.....

I will go to the ones I have tickets for already...which is two shows. I was planning on doing another two with some other people but I am putting the kaybosh on that idea. I am not driving a few states away to see the same ole thing I have seen ten times already. Gas is too high, the tickets are high, I would have to miss work. I have done it many times in the past and I am sad it has come to this. Unless FM tours or she adds a few new songs, I will only do the shows right near me.

I noticed that brokers have significantly dropped their ticket prices for certain shows. Also, I was getting the "no tickets available that match your request" message for certain shows and now pretty good seats are suddenly available. Brokers dumping already?? The seats are not front row yet or anything but they are center and in the first 12 rows. It really makes me wonder how ticket sales are going.

I saw her last night ..I'm not big on traveling but if she comes to the Bay area or Sac I'll probably go again ..The set list doesn't really bother me now that I realize the show is a cabaret act and not a rock concert.

I am going to 7 Stevie shows this summer. Don't you think that Stevie doesn't know that people have heard If Anyone Falls and How Still My Love because she thought they were just a Vegas crowd?

Oh, Kelly and Jimmy, I saw Rod Stewart at Mohegan last night( a three hour drive, which I will do for Stevie at Mohegan) and tickets are almost sold out at the box office-she's all over the mohegan and they had a trailer for her before Rod came on, she could only get me one ticket in the back of section 23)

Ticket sales are doing pretty well this tour:thumbsup:

Even if they did not go to Vegas, the majority of the set is the same. Two songs that she did at a few shows back in 05 and in Vegas 07, have been added in for this summer. That is it. Alot of people consider that the same old thing. Many of her fans have already seen the two "new" songs so I think it is really a stretch to imply she added anything different to her set.

I didn't got to Vegas, but this set list to me is just old and boring. Instead of doing some of this stuff, again, why not throw in something like GYPSY or SARA or SEVEN WONDERS? Instead we get I NEED TO KNOW (if she freakin loves this song so much, why not have recorded it either live or in the studio for the rehashed CRYSTAL VISIONS cd instead of ROCK AND ROLL?), ENCHANTED, FALL FROM GRACE and HOW STILL MY LOVE. How about doing some more songs that made you a household name. Since she isn't promoting any new material (again) on this tour, then why not do more of "the hits". No STOP DRAGGIN MY HEART AROUND? LEATHER & LACE? Creepy Waddy (watch your kids) Wachtel is there, she could do SDMHA with him and L & L with Chris Isaak. (Notice the actual spelling...not Issac and not Eye Sack:rolleyes: )
Anyway, not going this tour and won't feel like I missed out either. She needs to get ready for these summer tours earlier. She obviously is just touring now for money and something to do. Sure ain't for the fans.

I totally agree. Stevie did not just play HSML and IAF is Vegas anyway. According to FMLegacy, IAF was played at the Heart Benefit as well, which is the way I remembered it from watching the boot. HSML was also played at other shows besides Vegas, according to the Legacy board. These songs are not new and exciting to alot of fans, even if some of us did not see them live. (which I did but even if I did not, she still did them..) It is all about the money now for Stevie and not her art anymore. She is doing the same old thing but with a new outfit and an attempt at better vocals. I am happy she sounds so good but I will not keep forking over money to see the same thing over and over. Ticket prices have dropped dramatically on the broker sites....there has to be a reason for that.

Rickypt
05-21-2007, 12:51 PM
HSML was done in White Winged Dove, Wild Heart, and OSOTM tours. IAF was done Wild Heart and Timespace tours. Both songs are probably new for many in the CV audience, so I think Unwinded's point is well taken.

However, these are some examples of what I mean by hearing something new:

Silver Springs-Dance Tour
Enchanted, Garbo, Rose Garden, Sleeping Angel, Twisted-Enchanted Tour
Beautiful Child-SYW Tour

Circle Dance, Rock and Roll and all of the above you listed are new. According to the Leg board, HSML was done at some shows on the GD tour...not just the Vegas Dream's tour. (maybe Red Rocks?) IAF was done in Vegas and AHI. I think they are great songs and I will enjoy them but by my definition, they are not taking a risk or busting out something new. HSML is super sexy so I do not want to see it dropped but I am not doing a happy dance over it like some people.

I will merrily head north to Philadelphia (via Camden) to see Stevie.. I missed the last tour, and I'm really itching to see my girl again. Also, last 2 times I saw her at Camden, I was in the Pit - nothing like it. I've got to say that Philly fans are the rowdy bunch - nothing like them whether its football or rock concerts.

Yep - I would love something new but I'm ok with it. I will give Stevie her props for the Enchanted setlist (Twisted, Garbo, Sleeping Angel - never thought I would hear those sung live); and I'll give her kudos for the TISL tour - I was at opening night at Pittsburgh and she did 6 songs from the new album... quite of feat for her..

Ticket prices have dropped dramatically on the broker sites....there has to be a reason for that.
Could you explain the reason to me? Don't you think that most people aren't going to pay their outrageous prices??? So the brokers realize they have to drop them to make money. I never focus on tickets sales from broker sites; that's a whole different discussion. You sure love ticket sales discussions :D

How Still My Love was only performed in Vegas in 2005 not Dodge Theatre. I believe that is the same for If Anyone Falls.

there's no need for anyone to turn to a ticket broker when tickets are still available via ticketmaster -- and decent seats at that. i'd be curious to see how the shows are selling. usually that's a reflection of ticket broker prices

Jimmy,
Phoenix was the show before Vegas and I'm looking at reviews and HSML wasn't performed there according to them.

People seem to forget that "Beautiful Child" was performed on all the 2006 AU/NZ dates last year. That was something new to her solo set

Other than this tour - she has added something new to every solo set. So, people are just wrong for saying it is the same old set every time. I do think, though, that she should chage five of the "hits" for other hits or maybe a rareity. That would be a treat.

It may be half a world away from you, but I live in NZ, so it was very relevant to me. And relevant to the point I was trying to make, which Strand pointed out above...

I agree that the current setlist is dull. But I think your suggestions are too, for the most part. You're suggesting she drop some of the tired old boring songs for....more tired old boring songs? Gypsy? Been there, done that many many times. Sara? Just done on the SYW tour -not badly, but not fantastically either. Seven Wonders? OK, I'll take that one, but I'd prefer more solo Stevie material on a solo Stevie tour. SDMHA? Good God, talk about overdone. L&L? Meh, we don't need another ballad, plus it was just done on the 2 Voices tour.

I want change. I want something different - totally different - than any of the recent Mac OR solo tours (and by recent I basically mean post Enchanted.) Talk To Me. Rooms On Fire. I Can't Wait. Think About It. Blue Denim. If You Ever Did Believe. Anything.

IT IS SO FRUSTRATING!!! I DO feel taken advantage of!! But Im never gunna stop seeing her if she comes to my area just because of all shes given me so far! It just stinks because all she really had to do was add like Rooms on Fire or Talk to Me. Just one of those and this tour would have been held in such a higher regard to me. Like If Anyone Falls, How Still My Love, and we'll say Rooms on Fire in one show would have been AMAZING to me.

IAF was also played at the AHI benefit in 05, HSML was played in Reno and I thought Red Rocks but I might be mixing it was Reno. The New Mexico show also had Lori so I am wondering if HSML was played there, too. It does not really matter because it was played in 05, therefore it is not technically something "new" that she came up with to add this summer.

Broker prices reflect demand. Pretty obvious that if they were several hundred dollars more before the tour started, that the brokers expected people to pay those prices. With multiple decent tickets still available on TM, of course they have to drop prices. Simple supply and demand. Broker prices for the Borgata are higher than many others because the casino lists the show as a "Sell Out" right now. Opening night and LA area shows are expected to sell really well, if not sell out. It will be interesting to see how other cities sell. (not places like NY, LA, Chicago....which typically sell) Camden is the Philly show and you can still pull up seats in the First section...although they are row V and back. Brokers have dozens and dozens of the Pit seats for sale. Same goes for Holmdel.

Given last night's revelation about the Crystal Visions Tour setlist, will you be seeing Stevie this summer?

I would if she got her ass back to the UK! I haven't seen her numerous times like a lot of fans so I'm not bored yet!

I think I have some kind of disease because less than two weeks after seeing Stevie in Concord and being disappointed with the set list, I want to see her again!

While I can't condone her refusing to do new songs (new as in not done the past 2 years) I have to strongly disagree with everything you said. The only thing worse for me, then if she keeps this set list is if she were to replace How Still My Love, Fall From Grace, I Need To Know and Enchanted with LEather and Lace, SDMHA and Gypsy (unless its accoustic) Is that some kind of joke. We're now complaining that shes not doing enough hits? I can't believe Im hearing that.

maybe she'll shock the **** out of us and do HAEWAFY after a one year break

I was considering not looking at what she plays the 3 solo shows before mine on the 26th, but I don't want to be dissapointed in person when she actually does the same 14 songs. It would ruin my experience. But if I go in expecting it by already knowing, it'll be easier to take.

Heck yeah I'm seeing her! She's supposed to be in Youngstown on July 3 -- I live, like a measly TEN minutes from Youngstown!!!!!!!:blob2: :blob1: If my car broke down I could probably WALK to the Chevrolet Center (hopefully I won't have to; Youngstown isn't exactly known for it's "safe" streets.... LOL)

I'm just surprised to see that she's not going to be in Pittsburgh or Cleveland (last time I checked), or I'd probably drain out what little $ I have and go there too! But Youngstown -- I'm certainly not going to pass it up!!! :-)

Do you know if there are any hotels by the Centre?

Do you know if there are any hotels by the Centre?

Hmm... Let me think.... I know there's a Holiday Inn on Rt 224 in Boardman (I think you get off exit 11 if you're driving on I-680, and then you'd go west on 224; there's a movie theater and a K-Mart very close by), since I drive those streets all the time.

I'm also pretty sure there's hotels on Rt 422 and Belmont Ave, both in Youngstown. If you're coming from I-80, I think there are exits on Belmont Ave as well as Rt 422. I know for sure that I-680 also leads to Belmont Ave. (I work at a hospital on Belmont Ave, LOL -- that's why I'm pretty sure I've seen various motels along Belmont....) If you need specific directions, let me know!

As far as anything right by the Centre itself, I don't think there's much in downtown Youngstown. And quite frankly -- not to make you paranoid or anything -- but certain parts of Youngstown do have fairly high crime rates, especially at night: I'd try not to go wandering the east side by myself for sure; the north side and south side aren't much better. The west side by far is the safest, if you're going to stay in Youngstown for the night.

BTW, that's why people are hoping that the Chevrolet Centre can bring in some money, and hopefully, something positive to Youngstown. :) The city has been so infamous for murders, armed robberies, rapes, burglaries, etc., for so long now.... :sorry:

On the bright side, I imagine there will be lots of security for the concert. I know a guy who works in security at the centre, and he says things are pretty reasonable there. And of course I drive through Youngstown to and from work every day, and both of my parents work downtown. The crimes usually happen when people find themseves in certain neighborhoods at night.... :(

I hope I didn't confuse (or scare) you too much, LOL. Feel free to ask me any more questions though -- I've lived in the Youngstown area all my life! :]

I've got to say that Philly fans are the rowdy bunch - nothing like them whether its football or rock concerts.

you certainly have us accurately pegged -- i mean, we have our own jail in our football stadium  i haven't seen you since the second show on the syw tour. i'll be there playing trivia with folks so stop by and say hello!
